Between God and Man, I'm a private school teacher and this is my exact story. I am even homeless right now. The difference between my story and this one is that I'm still single and my salary isn't up to 50k. My landlord evicted me last month. I'm squatting with my friend whose girlfriend is around and my friend has given me till tommorow to pack outta his house. It's so painful for all young private sch teachers. We can't even feed. We are the most affected of this Economic turmoil.

Last month I got evicted from my apartment by my landlord due to my inability to pay my Rent after it was increased as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy & the general rise in price of goods and services.
I have a friend who lives very close to my house, we've been friends for some time now. I mean very close friend. He knew all that was happening to me as regards my accommodation challenge.
A few days to my Eviction, I plead that he accommodates me for just a month so I can raise money for an apartment. He knew my financial commitment at the time & also understands how my money comes. But I was surprised that he turned me down. He turned me down because, according to Him, he can't accommodate even his siblings. And he doesn't feel comfortable sharing a room with a fellow male. Immediately after this, he brought his girlfriend to start living right with him. This is same girl who cheats on him at every given opportunity. A Girl who is obviously not loyal.
While I acknowledge that he doesn't owe me anything and I'm not entitled to anything too, I consider it insensitive and callous to not empathize with a friend in such situation. I told him that if he was the one in my position, I would gladly help him even without giving a second thought. After all, what are friends for?

So right now, I'm wondering if there are still True Friends, cos it is often said that a friend in need is a friend indeed. Honestly I've lost faith in Humanity. People are very wicked. It is when u fall into trouble that you will understand who your true friends are.
