Baronthecelebri:Why though? But let's reason this issue squarely, it seemed Tope Alabi was judging Lizzy Anjorin. |
Earlier this week, controversial Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin, celebrated her birthday bash in style — and as usual, she was massively surprised by her fans, who joined heads together to invite renowned gospel singer, Tope Alabi, to perform as a surprise package. From receipts flying around online, it was estimated to cost a whopping 4 million naira. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LUwFVn5GM0?si=WM7TRXhiIGhX27xk However, on the day of the event, after stepping down from her car, Tope Alabi decided to turn down the invitation due to personal reasons best known to her. She later refunded the money. Infuriated, Lizzy Anjorin clapped back and deemed Tope Alabi's action as being unprofessional. She even went as far as asking her to measure her achievements against hers so far. Lizzy reminded Tope of how she once stood firmly by her — but regardless, she said she won't throw jibes at her. Is this a classic case of “Do not be equally yoked with unbelievers” or is there some deeper, personal beef to settle? Let's see where this one leads. #LizzyAnjorin #TopeAlabi #BirthdayDrama #GospelVsNollywood #NaijaCelebs #CelebrityClash #UninvitedPerformance #4MillionSaga #EntertainmentGist

OlujobaSamuel:Oh wow!!! |
OlujobaSamuel:Were they related or something? |
kokoA:Omo the political connection is something else. |
mrvitalis:But the endsars protest was very massive. |
About 47 years ago, for those who can remember, the "Ali Must Go" protest brought Nigeria to a standstill. Who could believe that a mere 50 kobo increment in students' meal tickets could spark a revolution? The military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo enacted this policy. Though some would say the increment was minimal, Nigerian students in tertiary institutions were not having it. They saw it as a form of oppression by the Obasanjo government. This eventually escalated into a massive protest spearheaded by Comrade Segun Okeowo of the National Union of Nigerian Students (NUNS). At the time, he was a student at the University of Lagos. Slowly, the movement gained momentum and galvanized students from various tertiary institutions to join in. This led to a boycott of classes as students stood their ground, demanding transparency and accountability. As expected, the military forces tried frantically to suppress the movement, but their efforts failed. Unfortunately, the protest led to the brutal deaths of eight students from Ahmadu Bello University. Another hero who lost his life was Akintunde Ojo, an architecture student who was shot at Dodan Barracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj85-5mO_J8?si=fFYcOl7KvrrPhxr8 These events came with severe consequences. Segun Okeowo was eventually expelled due to his unionist activities. However, there was a bright light at the end of the tunnel. The protest was so intense that it led to the creation of the Mohammed Commission to investigate the various events surrounding the crisis. Eventually, Okeowo continued his education at Obafemi Awolowo University and went on to have an illustrious career. What has happened to student unionism in Nigeria today? #AliMustGo #StudentUnionism #NigerianStudents #Protest #Activism #History

eepeepook:Erykah badu is just something else 😁😁😁 |
meobizy:I feel it's also a tribute to Sarah Baartman.... Her story is interesting. |
In a world where a surgically enhanced figure is celebrated, it's refreshing to see a celebrity and public figure making a parody of this, sending a subtle yet important message. One celebrity never to shy away from controversial statements is Erykah Badu , The Queen of Neo-Soul. Her recent appearance at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards shocked many viewers and netizens. When I saw the striking image, what came to my mind was the legendary Sarah Baartman. What struck folks the most was the exaggerated backside. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiUADFLnqMg?si=elVBZ-5iTcsd8UMv Erykah Badu has always had that quirky mixture of outfits especially the headpieces over the years, giving that Avant-Garde feel. Is this a mockery of BBL culture or just pure cruise with hidden messages? #ErykahBadu #BBLCulture #WomenInMusic #SarahBaartman #BodyImage #SocialCommentary #AvantGarde

In my previous video, I discussed extensively the nature of man and society. For this particular session, I’d cover the second and third postulations of Gerhard Lenski. Another major postulation by Lenski relates to what man strives for. For instance, the air we breathe in is available to us freely, but some other things are not given on a platter of gold. He noted that the demand for these exceeds their availability. This, in itself, is a normal feature of nature. Today, we are born, then proceed to procreate, which gradually increases as a result of our reproductive capacity. Eventually, this would exceed the limited supply of food and diverse resources. In this regard, a huge number of people would die, while a few would exceed the normal human lifespan. This is, in fact, the cycle of life. Over time, man has learned to improve on these eventualities by implementing techniques that enhance and increase food yields. Man has also imbibed ways of curtailing a high birth rate and reducing infant mortality through an improved healthcare system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diR0SkqNt4Y?si=Uh8FuITthGtF1PrV Regardless of all these advantages, man still suffers certain disadvantages. This lies in man's insatiable desire to gain more in the midst of plenty. This is predominantly because the various goods and services he consumes have a utilitarian value. #GerhardLenski #HumanNature #Society #Scarcity #Reproduction #Survival #HumanDesires #sociology #youtube #tiktok

yinkus6750:Amen I hope the successors won't turn it to a business venture. |
muyico:But their doctrines are clearly different |
JASONjnr:After pastor Adeboye I wonder who the general overseer will be. This successor issue is something else. |
Not too many persons are even aware he was the founder of RCCG church. I even got to know about him during a quiz session during my teenage years at church. |
Does the name Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi even ring a bell today? For many who are not aware, that name is the pillar behind the RCCG church of today. Recently, I was watching a ministration on TV, and one of his sons, Pastor Kolade Akindayomi, was ministering. I was enamored by the cordial relationship the Akindayomis have with Pastor Adeboye. Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi was born in Ondo State around 1909 into a poor family who were traditionalists to the core, but that didn't deter him. He kept searching for the face of God even after a wave of sicknesses. From an early age, his family knew he possessed a great deal of power and a bright prospect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIQAyYhqg6U?si=nCYag_B7XnPpu7k- This foray led him to join the Anglican Church and later on, the Cherubim and Seraphim Church. Then came a persistent voice that kept telling him to move fully into ministry. However, for years, he ignored this spiritual summons, and that dealt him a huge blow—he became depressed, ill, and sunk into debt. Later, after all these trials and tribulations, he listened to God's divine call through the aftermath of a horrifying dream that caused him to seek medical attention. Originally, RCCG was known as The Glory of God Fellowship, and it started from Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, with just nine members. The name itself was revealed to Reverend Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi in a vision. At this point, he also broke away from the Cherubim and Seraphim Church because of a clash in ideological differences. During the early 1970s, an era of change was ushered in as Pastor Enoch Adeboye, a mathematics professor, joined the ministry—first as a translator, and later, he resigned from his teaching job to enter the ministry full-time. Sadly, in 1980, Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi passed on at the ripe age of 71, and Pastor Enoch Adeboye was tasked with the responsibility of taking on the mantle of the position of General Overseer of the RCCG. Today, this church has grown in leaps and bounds. #PaJosiahAkindayomi #RCCG #History #Faith #Christianity #PastorAdeboye #ChurchGrowth #Legacy #OndoState #Inspiration #Ministry #GodsCall

7lives:Do this Etiebet family have a popular figure amongst them? I'd like to do a little research. Things are really happening oh. |
Akpaamunsi:I understand your perspective however there is a saying that goes thus that we shouldn't say negative things about the dead. |
naturalwaves:Everything right there went through proper researches and the pictures of the mother Mrs. Florence Ajimobi are all in the video which I provided as an excerpt. |
chinchum:I was just staring at him he said they need to do EBO and ETUTU. |
chinchum:She is seriously grieving now |
Akpaamunsi:I heard he was a nice man to his associates though. |
7lives:This was what a friend told me actually he was insinuating maybe perhaps they appease their family ancestral gods or something. It's weird though. |
Racoon:Amen Mrs. Florence AJIMOBI has always been in the limelight. |
ednut1:But you too reason it nah within a period of five years, 4 family members gone just like that. |
Agbaka1997:She was such a lady with a promising future. |
I was shocked when I saw the story of the demise of Abisola Kola daisi yesterday. |
This family has truly gone through alot. |
Florence Ajimobi, the former First Lady of Oyo State, has endured unimaginable grief over the past few years. She has suffered the loss of her husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who died from COVID-19 complications in June 2020. A mesoleum was built in his memory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL_qEVtTS7g?si=Gj_yUoKQufqaA4QR Her heartbreak continued when her mother, Mrs. Victoria Amudoaghan, passed away just a year later. Then, in March 2025, Florence's eldest daughter, Abisola Kola-Daisi, a successful entrepreneur and socialite, died at the age of 44, leaving behind her husband and three children. Reports also indicate that Florence lost her sister in Lebanon in 2022. These consecutive tragedies have compounded her grief, testing her strength and resilience. Despite facing an overwhelming wave of sorrow, Florence Ajimobi has shown remarkable courage and strength. Losing loved ones is a profound and painful experience, and her ability to cope with these losses is truly admirable.

Interestingly, in sociology, Gerhard Lenski's evolutionary theory is one of the least discussed, in my opinion. His ecological-evolutionary theory can be closely affiliated with Charles Darwin's and Herbert Spencer's perspectives. This theory, developed in the mid-1960s, combines both deductive and inductive reasoning, based on solid empirical evidence. However, there have been series of modifications. The deductive aspect lies in the fact that it takes a cue from Rev. Robert Thomas Malthus' (Malthusian theory), which mirrors the viewpoint that human population or societies are tied to nature. Gerhard Lenski's perspective has also been widely used in other disciplines, such as anthropology, history, and diverse literature. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5CRZ-hBFfI?si=JaXsCuQqPBRaKrC6 According to Gerhard Lenski, humans are social beings who involve themselves in antagonistic cooperation to gain optimum satisfaction. The society we live in shapes our wants, insatiable needs, and desires. Our daily survival, self-consciousness, emotions, and thirst or drive become top priorities. Lenski notes that the human population grows astronomically or exponentially, resulting from high sex drive or libido, while scarce resources or food cannot cater to all. Humans also have an innermost drive to strive for prestige or wealth, which he noted are simply utilitarian values. Our sociocultural systems are the basic routes through which we adapt to the world around us. Lenski also noted that society itself is a system riddled with different imperfections. In essence, some parts are in a diseased state and do not contribute effectively to the whole. #GerhardLenski #EcologicalEvolutionaryTheory #Sociology #EvolutionaryTheory #MalthusianTheory #CharlesDarwin #HerbertSpencer #SocioculturalSystems #UtilitarianValues #HumanNature #SociologicalTheory #LenskiTheory

Congratulations to him!!!! If only some form of monetary rewards were also extended to other firstclass graduates in other faculties especially in social sciences. Their names were not even on the award list, they just went home empty handed. Quite sad!!! |
The first time I came across the name ONIGU OTITE, was in my year 1 as a student in two different textbooks. The first was in a reference page in "Introduction to sociology" and "Sociology of education" which was a year two course. He was truly an academic guru. Onigu Otite began his educational journey—one that would transcend the adversity of his times and leave an indelible mark on the academic and social science world. Born into a challenging era where scarcity and hardship defined daily life, Otite’s early years were marked by the devastation of global conflict. The year he stepped into Catholic School, Okpara Inland, was the same year that the world plunged into the chaos of war. This was 1939, a year that would shape the future of many families, including the Otites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqSj6gp9IRw?si=zN01e3pc3ht-gXSD World War II, a crisis that left its scars across British colonies, including the Urhobo communities, brought severe disruptions to education. But amidst the turmoil, Onigu Otite emerged as a symbol of determination. His eight years in elementary school, spanning the six destructive years of the war, were not merely academic pursuits—they were a battle for survival and success in an unforgiving world. By 1946, when Otite earned his Elementary School Leaving Certificate from the Western Region of Nigeria’s Department of Education, few from Okpara had achieved such a milestone. For many of his peers, this certificate was the apex of their educational journey, marking the end of their academic prospects. But for Otite, it was just the beginning of a path that would see him rise to prominence in Nigeria's academic world. Fast forward to the late 1960s, and Onigu Otite’s journey takes a pivotal turn. He, alongside Professor Onoge, became a key figure in the establishment of the Social Science Department at the University of Ibadan in 1967. A visionary in his field, Otite was instrumental in introducing courses that focused on African Social Thought, a contribution that helped solidify the department's reputation as a leading center for social science research. But Otite’s influence wasn’t confined to the University of Ibadan. He played a significant role in founding the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University in Agharha-Otor, Delta State, a testament to his commitment to expanding educational opportunities in Nigeria. His dedication to the academic world earned him a place in several prestigious listings. In 1981, he was featured in Africa's Who’s Who published by Africa Journal Ltd, as well as in Who’s Who in Nigeria (1983) and Who’s Who in the Commonwealth (1984). His name was a fixture in these esteemed publications, including Newswatch Nigeria’s 1990 edition, solidifying his place among Nigeria’s most prominent scholars. Through his groundbreaking work, Onigu Otite helped shape the educational and social landscape of Nigeria, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire generations of scholars and social scientists. #OniguOtite #SocialScience #AfricanSocialThought #Nigeria #EducationPioneers #IbadanUniversity #AcademicTrailblazer #MichaelAndCeciliaIbruUniversity #AfricasWhosWho #NigerianHistory #SocialScienceEducation

They are not short of shitty talk. Anyone who past the 70 mark is fortunate in Nigeria. Only the daughter died young.
