For Jon who she only gave polite notice before, she now has genuine love and reverence as her big brother, who went out alone and proved himself a leader and a warrior with the exact same reputation for honor their father has and naturally sees lord eddard stark reborn in him and so she supported his anscension to power as against hers and she is dead determined to protect Jon from even himself and the mistakes only honorable men can make even without his permission!

Sansa is a lady that has decided to put family first ahead of every other thing and as such deserves commendation and as she said, "come winter, the wolves must band together to survive, for the lone wolf will die" winter is already here! So is the direwolves pack! And sansa is determined they'll survive! By keeping them together so stop all your sansa is useless claptrap! Lastly,yhe writers or showrunners have the right to kill characters anyhow dey like. Do you want to tell me that if the writers want robbstark alive or any dead character alive uptill now they cant do it?

Maybe sansa is not useless per se but she is not smart.
