Bishop David Oyedepo, Founder and President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, has blasted those criticizing him over the recent sack of over 40 pastors from the gospel ministry.

Recall that a pastor of the church, Peter Godwin, weeks ago cried out that the church management led by Oyedepo, sacked him for allegedly not generating enough income from his branch.

The pastor who had alleged in a video, that he was relieved of his duties over a low-income generation, said he was sacked alongside 40 other pastors.

But Pastor Oyedepo while reacting to the viral video said the ministers were sacked for not being fruitful and according to him, the church has no regard for failure.

His reaction, however, triggered more controversy as many concerned Nigerians condemned the act accusing him of being too money minded.

Following the numerous criticism, the African richest pastor, on Sunday said he has the right to employ and to sack as he wished.

He restated that the sacked pastors were unable to carry out their functions as expected, referring to them as sick, unproductive, saying they should not survive.

On criticism over the building of churches instead of factories to help alleviate hardship from members of the church, Oyedepo urged critics to mind their business.

He revealed that the United Kingdom certified that the gospel ministry is “one of the best-run charities in the UK”.

According to him, “Our rural church planting is going on. All the offerings from rural Churches for the next 40 years cannot build what they are building for them because I learnt some fellows were saying that, “It is because they don’t have an offering that is why they said they should go.”

“It is because you are sick, you are unproductive, you will be plucked out. We sent you to go to the villages to reach out to a minimum of 12 souls in a week and ensure that a minimum 6 of them come to Church. Then 6 months, you don’t have 10.

Reno Omokri, a former aide to Goodluck Jonathan, has claimed that he searched for the number listed in the FBI’s affidavit regarding the issue of bribery on Truecaller, and it matched that of Abba Kyari’s.


The bribery allegation raised by the infamous scammer, Hushpuppi against the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari has been the subject of discussion by several Nigerians over the last few hours. Hushpuppi alleged that he consulted Mr Kyari to assist in the arrest and jailing of his fellow viral scammer, a job which was carried out and he got paid. This allegation was debunked by Abba Kyari, who claimed that the money sent was for the payment of clothes and caps he bought.

Reno Omokri has reacted to this issue of Abba Kyari, saying that it will be difficult for him to deny the FBI’s indictment because he searched for the numbers the FBI claimed to have been exchanging texts with Hushpuppi and they both matched those of Abba Kyari. An Enugu-based preacher, Evangelist Victor Nwaogu, has revealed that he dreamt that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was ‘shot in the chest’ by Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to Nwaogu, the Nigerian government plans to sentence Kanu to death, but ‘they now adopted delay method in order to allow President Muhammadu Buhari finish his remaining two years’. SleekGist reports.


Nwaogu claimed that part of the vision he saw was that pressure came from across the world, which forced the Buhari administration to put an end to Kanu’s case, with the Nigerian separatist leader emerging victorious and “given Biafra flag instantly”.

But Nwaogu says Kanu would be shot, and a war ensued in Nigeria.

“I told people around me what I saw in my dream yesterday concerning nnamdi KANU,” Nwaogu wrote in an update shared to a pro-Biafra Facebook group on Saturday.

“Nigeria govt have no evidence to sentence to him to death which is all they wanted. Rearrested Kanu has been campaigning for an independent state called Biafra in south-eastern Nigeria.
Kanu is currently facing charges of “criminal conspiracy, intimidation and membership of an illegal organisation” – offences that could amount to treason.

The plan for a Biafra state is not new.
In 1967, Igbo leaders declared a Biafran state, but after a brutal civil war, which led to the deaths of up to a million people, the secessionist rebellion was defeated.

On Thursday, Peoples Gazette reported that Ramon ‘Hushpuppi’ Abbas, the infamous Nigerian fraudster who recently pleaded guilty in the United States, narrated how he bribed Nigeria’s celebrated police chief Mr Kyari in a court document.

Amidst calls for probe of the ‘super cop’, a Facebook user on Friday accused Mr Kyari of arresting and raping Ada Ngozichukwu, a pro-Biafran agitator.

Though the allegation is yet to be verified, Mr Kyari on Friday described his indictment by the FBI as a “show” he is “enjoying, while insinuating that he is unperturbed.

“Hahahahaha This is the funniest One so far, we are enjoying the Show,” Mr Kyari said on his Facebook page Friday night.

Checks by Peoples Gazette hours later shows that Mr Kyari’s Facebook post which has been shared by over 600 persons and has garnered over 4000 comments has been pulled down after The Gazette highlighted Mr Kyari’s derision for his ongoing investigation by the police.

The Nigerian government is yet to come up with charges that could lead to the extradition of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, who is currently detained in Benin Republic.

SleekGist reports that Igboho’s lawyers made the revelation after the Yoruba rights activist appeared at Cour D’Appel De Cotonou on Thursday.

According to them, contrary to insinuations, the hearing showed that there was no extradition agreement between Nigeria and Benin Republic.

A statement by Communications Manager, Ilana Omo Oodua, Maxwell Adeleye, quoted the lawyers as saying that the case had been adjourned till Monday.

However, the Cour D’Appel De Cotonou ordered the release of Ropo, the wife of Igboho.

“Yesterday, the court set Mrs. Adeyemo, lgboho’s wife free since it has been found that she has committed no offence and there is no complaints whatsoever against her.

“Consequently, her German passport was returned to her.

“The lawyers handling the case reported after the proceedings that Chief Sunday Adeyemo lgboho cannot be extradited to Nigeria for two principal reasons:

“That contrary to insinuations, Nigeria and Benin have no Extradition Agreement.

“That Nigeria has not been able to come up with charges that could lead the court to order lgboho’s extradition to Nigeria,” the statement read in part.

It added that the Nigeria government only came up with allegations such as arms trafficking and inciting violence against Igboho.

The Government of Benin Republic considered these to be spurious and untenable, and insufficient to warrant extradition.

The case has been adjourned until Monday July 26, “to allow the Nigerian Government bring up whatever evidence they may have, and Mr. Igboho has been taken back to the police custody.”

Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and president of Living Faith Church Worldwide has revealed that he declined opportunity to relocate to the United States America, USA in 1987.

Speaking during a sermon in one of the church’s services, the world’s second richest pastor slammed Nigerians who are currently doing slavery jobs in some foreign countries.

According to the popular gospel preacher, many Nigerians in diaspora were meant to be employers of labour in Nigeria.

He said, “I had all the opportunity to be in the US in 1987 and move there permanently. I said ‘Jesus what are You saying? Do I have any regrets for not being there? Never.’

“Many are ordained to be employers of labour in this country. They’re jumping from job to job in another man’s country.

“Slavery kind of job because they won’t ask. Jumping about as if that’s a prize winner adventure.

“Everything is changing. You earn a degree in those days, you have to mention the country”.

Olusegun Bamgbose, the National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, has told President Muhammadu Buhari to release self determination campaigners, Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho, to the Southern Governors.

Nnamdi Kanu is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, after he was a few weeks ago rearrested in Kenya and bundled back to Nigeria while Sunday gboho was arrested in neighbouring Benin Republic on Monday night and is currently in detention in Cotonou.

SleekGist reports that Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, while Sunday Igboho Is a leading advocate for Oduduwa Republic.

Bamgbose noted that the nation is undoubtedly passing through a very critical moment in its political history and that the future seems to be unpredictable, warning that stakeholders must take extreme caution to avoid disintegration as the unity of Nigeria has never been this weak.
“The truth remains that in any part of the world, where there is unfair treatment, injustice, and inequality, agitation becomes inevitable and legitimate. You can’t push someone and tell him or her where to fall,” the senior lawyer and 2023 presidential hopeful noted.

“We can’t claim to be one nation when there is obvious discrimination in terms of clan or tribe. Agitation is a natural reflection of what goes on in society.

“The Igbos have always complained that they are heavily marginalized in the scheme of things, while the Yorubas are aggrieved that Fulani herders are kidnapping their people, raping their women, destroying their farms, killing them, the one million naira question begging for answers is, how has President Buhari addressed these critical issues?

Some oppressed youth on Saturday morning took to the Daudu main street in Benue State to fight the puzzling vanishing of the joysticks of certain men in the community. sleekgist reports

The young people said the occurrence had been a repetitive wonder in the town over a couple of weeks. No less than six youngsters have had their penis vanish strangely in the past few weeks, an advancement which provoked the protest.


The youths needed to fall back on fight after their customary ruler didn’t show concern about their situation.

An unidentified man has called for the dethronement of Oba Ridwan Akiolu of Lagos, for being unable to retrieve the original staff of office stolen by thugs from the palace.

SleekGist recalls that few weeks back, thugs invaded the palace, carted away the staff of office of the Oba of Lagos, after the invasion, destroying properties and looting. Read here.

However, in a recently surfaced video online, the Nigerian man told fellow Lagosians to dethrone Oba Ridwan Akiolu if the original Staff of Office does not return to the palace before this coming Thursday.

He pledged to give whosoever returns the stolen staff of office N10m, as a compensation and then remove the king and install another king because he couldn't stop the staff from being stolen.
