PhonesChrome Productivity For Mobile by AidRoute(op): 4:29am On Feb 26, 2020
CHROME PRODUCTIVITY FOR MOBILE

Google Chrome for mobile has always tied me down, despite it weakness in multiple areas, (check out my other post on Browsers: which should you be using and for what purpose), because it had some features I loved using, I'm very sure that only few people use this features.
I'll be sharing the two features that'll save your time & ease stress when you're surfing the web,

They're:
Payment Method.
Addresses and More.

This two features has been with chrome for long..

To activate them, go to settings on chrome, under the Basic settings section you'll find them sleeping there, all you have to do is wake them up...

I'll explain how they work, even though their names seem self explanatory.

PAYMENT METHODS.

This feature allows you to fill up debit card information automatically on any website, once you click on the first input box, it brings out suggestions based on the card details you have saved, you simply choose the card you want to use from the suggestion menu
Note: you can add more than one payment method.
Why I like this is that, your Security security code is not pre-inputed, so that's just what you'll need to type and you are done, you don't need to go through the hassle of typing it in everytime it's needed.

And it's a bit secure since the Security number will not be there.

ADDRESSES AND MORE.

I just love this, you may hesitate when it comes to payment methods, due to the risk of exposing card details, but the this one is something you should do, it saves you time and you don't have to type details everytime you need to fill a form online.

Note: you can add more than one address.
Once you click on the first input box, it brings out suggestions based on the addresses you have saved before and once you select your option all other details like name, telephone, state etc. that pertain to the chosen option are immediately filled into the form for you, isn't that cool! This saves you time and ease your burden, all you just have to do is, cross check the information filled, to make sure they're correct, then you'll submit, it's as good as that.

And do you know that these feature has been there for so long, but did you know?

Did I miss anything out, let me know!

PhonesSecuring Your Online Assets by AidRoute(op):
Securing your Online ASSETS: Tips to create a STRONG and EASY to REMEMBER PASSWORD.

As we all know the easiest way to securing your online asset is to create a strong password, and for a password to be considered strong, the following components must be included:

An Upper & Lower Case Letter,
Number(s),
Symbol(s).

But the issue is when all the component are included to form a Strong Password, we tend to forget them easily especially if we don't use them frequently.

That's why some don't even incorporate all the components, they just coin their passwords from things related to them(Hackers Friendly - not secured), while others use browser generated Password (hardly can you remember this [tjy!JD?#27b11 - this is a near example], but you don't need to remember it, because it's automatically inputed into the password section anytime you want to login, but the issue here is, when you want to login on another device, how do you go about it, since you don't know the password or can't remember it, you either have to get your device, or reset the password to login).

So away from all the Technicalities & Vulnerabilities.

I'll be sharing 4 Tips to help in creating a STRONG and EASY to REMEMBER PASSWORD :

1. WORDS CHOICE & CAPITALIZATION OF LETTERS.

Choose two words, that you're sure to remember (maximum of five letters)
Illustration - I'll be choosing fear and kings.
Note: it doesn't have to be a real word or an English Word, but something you'll easily remember.
Then Capitalize any letter(s) of the two word you have chosen.

Illustration - I'll capitalize just the last letters (feaR and kingS). Moving on...

2. SYMBOLS CHOICE.

Choose two symbols (e.g. : [colon], - [dash], and / [forward slash] etc.), that you'll put at the end of each words

Illustration - I'll be choosing # [hash/pound] and > [greater than] i.e. feaR#kingS>

Note: Choose symbols that are easy to find on PCs & Mobile Devices.

3. PLATFORM RELATED TAG LETTERS.

At this point, this is what makes the password of A platform different from B platform, you'll need be creative, yet careful, so that things don't get mixed up.
Choose two letters/numbers associated with the online platform you want to password.
For Facebook : There are different Tag letters you can create (FK,FB,KF & BF etc.).

E.g. using code letter Tag "FK", I picked the first and the last letters of FACEBOOK & Capitalized them, but for KF, I simply reversed the order( from FK to KF), or using FB I picked F from Face and B from Book & BF is just the reverse for FB. You can even choose the first two letter (FA) or last two letters (OK), Only you should know your tag letters.

But make sure the Tag Letter Pattern chosen is used across board i.e if you use the FA (first two letters Tag Letter Pattern) for FACEBOOK, then for INSTAGRAM, it MUST be IN(first two letters also), Using the same pattern across board will make you remember your Password easily.

Illustration - I'll choose AO(Second letter from the beginning & the end of the word) as the tag letters, while that of INSTAGRAM will be NA(Using the same Tag Letter Pattern).
So my Password will become "feaR#kingS>AO"

Lastly...

4. NUMBERS CHOICE.

Choose two digits that you'll quickly remember, it could be a date or just any number that you'll remember.

Illustration - I'll choose 14, so my Password will finally be "feaR#kingS>AO14"

YOU CAN DECIDE TO START FROM TIP 4 UP TO TIP 1, with this, the Password will be "14AOkingS>feaR#", OR YOU CAN MIX THEM ANY HOW YOU LIKE, BUT WILL YOU REMEMBER IT, IF YES, THEN GO AHEAD; IF NO THEN FOLLOW THE STEP, SO YOU CAN USE IT AS REFERENCE.

Note: Bear in mind that some website don't allow symbols as part of a Password, so for such a site, just remove the symbols
Illustration - FINAL RESULT

feaRkingSOA14 (WITHOUT SYMBOLS) & feaR#kingS>AO14 (WITH SYMBOLS).

CONGRATULATIONS you've just created a STRONG and Easy to REMEMBER PASSWORD!

Don't ever share this Password with anyone, even if you're required to provide a Password to be used for a new account in plain text, never give them this Password(it's the main one, thus no one should know it), if you give them, all other online accounts may be compromised & I'm sure you won't want that, give them a generic one(you can generate a new one also with the tips above) and change it later (if allowed) to the Strong Password you use as your main Password.

Illustration - Main one "feaR#kingS>AO14" & Generic one "Ada!Uche?FB20"

Just form something, but remember it.

ADDED LAYER OF SECURITY: 2ND FACTOR AUTHENTICATION

If you're not yet using this feature to further tighten the security of your online asset, you should consider activating it, not all site have this feature, but popular ones like Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, WhatsApp & Instagram etc. have this feature, simply check your settings & activate it, if you need help to activate it on any of your account, let me know I'll be happy to help.

HOW IT WORKS - WHEN IT'S ACTIVATED:

Once you login on an unknown device, you are not given access to your account immediately, until you input a set of server generated number, sent to you either by email or phone number, once you input the code, then you'll have full access to your account, it works like OTP, when you're using your ATM Card to pay for transactions online.

Get yourself a Strong Password & Secure your Online ASSETS...

2020 : GET PRODUCTIVE!

SMARTPHONE PRODUCTIVITY - INTRO

How Smart Is Your Smartphone?

Are you part of those using their Smartphone like every other mobile phone, STOP THAT!
You're in an abusive relationship with your Smartphone, and that won't help you this year, it's your e-partner, learn to collaborate with it.

You've got to be smart, it's being smart that makes you productive with your device.

I find it disturbing, when a Smartphone user can't make simple changes that'll make their Smartphone smart, just as Facebook Ads defaults settings are changed to give optimum results, that's how productive your use of your device will be when you change the necessary settings(I hope you get my message), you've got to spice it up to meet your needs.

Just like you already know, only few people harness the smartness of their device, most of the time people follow what I call the "SHOW CLUB" i.e. clique of buying, just to show off or to belong, therefore they make their Smartphone a social stalker, with no or little productivity.

They turn its smartness into liability. Don't let that be you, most of the time people go to their PC, to get things done, having no knowledge that their mobile device can do it efficiently or having the knowledge but not knowing how to do it.

Let me sight an example, To edit a document, convert it to a PDF, or to scan a document, they run to their PC or to a cybercafe and pay to get those things done, while some stress the sleeping giant(PC) to get files from a flash drive, I do all that and lots more with my device, I don't STRESS! Do You?

This is year 2020, whatsoever you do, do it with all thy might. This year, please strive for Productivity, Don't make simple task, COMPLEX.

An Encounter...

This happened December last year, a lady came to my office to have her phone screen fixed, she has been using her Smartphone for sometime, After fixing & testing the new screen, she was happy to have her device back to life, but her joy was limited, when she discovered an issue she's been having , a sim card on her phone was not active, I collected it and switched on the sim card settings, it has been switched off, she was happy, she later revealed to me that she was planning to get a small phone for the sim card, what a pity!

My point here is, most of the time we limit the work we can do with our device & thereby look for solution elsewhere, whereas it's right there with us, I could easily charge her a fee for that, because that's a knowledge gap, but I did that for free.

Don't let that GAP catch up with you, don't find it difficult to test out new features on your phone, some haven't even visited the settings area on their phone, not to talk of knowing the android or ios version their device is running on, some DON'T even know the model name of their device.

Why?
That's BAD. They are satisfied with calling, texting , chatting & if they can take pictures they're ok.

That shouldn't be you, Be Productive!

That's not being SMART with your Smartphone, Being SMART is learning to use your Smartphone when duty calls, YES it can do it, but if you don't TRY IT OUT, how would YOU know.

Go AHEAD check the meaning of SMARTPHONE, I would have written it here, but I want you to check it yourself, I'm waiting, did you get that, Yes that's the definition of a Smartphone. Is your Smartphone really smart the way you use it? Be honest with yourself.

Do not make your SMARTPHONE DULL...
BY DOING ITS WORK ELSEWHERE YOU'RE NOT TAPPING INTO ITS FULL POTENTIALS.

DON'T BE ENSLAVED TO IT, MASTER IT AND BE ITS MASTER.

How PRODUCTIVE are you willing to go this year, plan your Smartphone along & you'll go a long way.

Remember..., to be Productive, you have to do things differently this year, and to do things differently, you have to learn new things.

LEARN, BECAUSE THERE'S NO INVESTMENT LIKE SELF DEVELOPMENT, IT'S NEVER WASTED, LEARN TO USE YOUR SMARTPHONE PRODUCTIVELY THIS YEAR.
