We all wish to be forgiven: put yourself in their shoes: We act sometimes out of rashness and impetuousness and become regretful for our actions. We wish that the one who we have wronged pardon us and understand that we never intended to hurt them. So have a share of this empathy and put yourself in their shoes. Sometimes we act in accordance to our available knowledge: The knowledge of humans is somewhat limited to their experience. We become stern over an act that we think is best. Afterwards, we regret our actions and hope that the one we have wronged out of ignorance overlooks and forgive. These and many more are reasons we should harbour the mindset of pardoning those that wrong us. We ask Allah to correct our ills, grant us a goodness in our character and make us dwellers of the Garden. Was salatu was salaamu ala nabiyyina Muhammad wa ala ahlihi wa sahbihi ajmaeen. Knowing that you will be saved from the paroxysm of rage and the rage of vengeance: The one who forgives and pardons will neither look to avenge nor be consumed with a destructive anger. The one who fails to forgive is enraged with an appetite of bad temper anytime he sees the one who wronged him. Being thankful that you are the oppressed and not the oppressor: This alone is enough to pardon and forgive. For the Messenger of Allah said: “ Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: اتَّقُوا الظُّلْمَ فَإِنَّ الظُّلْمَ ظُلُمَاتٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ Beware of committing oppression, for oppression will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection. A way to have peace/rest of mind: When you pardon and overlook, you enjoy the bliss of a peaceful state of mind. One of the companions narrated to us a story of how a man keeps his mind whenever he wants to sleep: Anas ibn Malik reported: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “Coming upon you now is a man from the people of Paradise.” A man from the Ansar came whose beard was disheveled by the water of ablution and he was carrying both of his shoes with his left hand. The next day the Prophet repeated the same words, and the man came in the same condition. The third day the Prophet repeated the same again, and the man came in the same condition. When the Prophet stood up to leave, Abdullah ibn Amr followed the man and he said, “I am in a dispute with my father and I have sworn not to enter my home for three days. May I stay with you?” The man said yes. Abdullah stayed three nights with the man but he never saw him praying at night. Whenever he went to bed, he would remember Allah and rest until he woke up for morning prayer. Abdullah said that he never heard anything but good words from his mouth. When three nights had passed and he did not see anything special about his actions, Abdullah asked him, “O servant of Allah, I have not been in dispute with my father nor have I cut relations with him. I heard the Prophet say three times that a man from the people of Paradise was coming to us and then you came. I thought I should stay with you to see what you are doing that I should follow, but I did not see you do anything special. Why did the Prophet speak highly of you?” The man said, “I am as you have seen.” When Abdullah was about to leave, the man said, “I am as you have seen, except that I do not find dishonesty in my soul towards the Muslims and I do not envy anyone because of the good that Allah has given them.” Abdullah said, “This is what you have achieved and it is something we have not accomplished.” Source: Musnad Aḥmad |
The Ways: Remembering the patience of Allah over you, His respite: The patience and forbearance of Allah covers everyone. He gives us respite, overlook and He is patient when we float His rules. If He were to punish us immediately for our misdeeds, then for sure we will all be gone back to Him. We take lessons from Our Creator and apply this to ourselves, giving respite to those who have wronged us. We are humans prone to errors and mistakes. Knowing that pardoning comes with rewards: The one who is patient with the one who wrongs is given an unimaginable bounty from his Lord, the one that is not comparable. Those who spend [in Allah's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers).-Sura Aal-E-Imran, Ayah 134 |
The Sweetness of faith and the bliss in Islam can only be enjoyed by the one who follows the rules and regulations tenaciously and sincerely, neither going overboard nor falling short. In times, humans have mastered certain behaviour, some learnt within their environment and some learnt via personal choice, all towards a goal and an interest. It is ponderous that we act seeking Allah’s pleasure and act in accordance to His ways. We ask Allah to guide us to the best of conduct and brighten our precious faces. How do you sleep at night bearing grudge and rancour? Have you forgotten how the respite of Allah covered you? The Religion of Islam preaches forgiveness and pardons and enjoins its faithfuls to practice these noble acts. Of the Name and Attributes of Allah is Al-Ghaffur (The Oft-Forgiving) and Al-Afuww (The Pardoner). We all know it is not easy as said to pardon those who have wronged us, those who cheated us, maltreated us and oppressed us. However, let me regale you with this sweet verse from the wordings of Allah. The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.-Sura Fussilat, Ayah 34 وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٖ But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of the happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and in this world of a high moral character).-Sura Fussilat, Ayah 35 |

The People Of Lut(Lot) Then there was the people of Lot (Lut) Obstinate and stubborn, came with a lot Of unimaginable sins, whims And desires that the people of old deem Unimaginable! Unthinkable! Man to man as able Marital partners in an affair Yet it seem good to them and fair Their Prophet warned them of the Inevitable! A punishment for the deed was unthinkable! It is against Allah’s commandment But they rejected him and asked for the chastisement Stern in warning, he gave them respite But to their Prophet, they spite They scorned and scoffed So they were seized and cuffed Upon them fell stones of baked clay Marked by the Creator for those who went astray But the believers were delivered And saved from the evil meant for the wicked. That was the seizure of your Lord To those who rejected His Word Became proud and arrogant till the end And took the respite of Allah for granted source:www.lifeelementsng.com |Life Elements Care Group| |
Of a she camel that will come out of a rockery All in the open to avoid shortcut and treachery So it was, Allah helped His Prophet and it came As a fitnah to them She’s to be spared But they took a spear And thrust her belly By the one who was in folly For their disbelieve and rebellion The reparation subdued their stallion They were shaken with an awful cry In their homes, they laid dead and dry That was the seizure of your Lord To those who rejected His Word Became proud and arrogant till the end And took the respite of Allah for granted |
The People of Thamud Then they came the people of Thamud, Mighty and powerful in the land, Hefty was their dwellings, Palaces in hills and cabins They took the bounty of their Creator With ingratitude and prostrated to creatures Following what was wrong totally Disbelieving in what was right wholly The sanctions, their Prophet forewarned Of ascribing partners to He that Fashioned And made them into a big Nation But they disbelieved and asked for a Manifestation |
The People of 'Aad Then there came the people of Aad Treated the word of their Lord With jest and humiliated their Prophet All he wanted was that they Perfect Their worship to their Creator and Maker But they called him a fabricator and a liar They preferred a thousand statues To the Supreme One, Holy in His Status He told them about a terrible recompense But they scorned and told him to bring it all at once Little did they know that it will be their end For they took the respite for granted It came as a cool wind, whistling Till it began to blow furious, howling Destroying those who exalted themselves in the lands For seven nights and eight days, they became hollow fonds That was the seizure of your Lord To those who rejected His Word Became proud and arrogant till the end And took the respite of Allah for granted |
