It's like Alberta is the real deal, about 3 guys have told me about the place, people are moving from Saskatchewan to Alberta due to more job opportunity and whatever reason. Are there opportunity for peeps in media or hospitality industry in Alberta? How about the schools over there? any cheap school? |

Things to do to make a better living, you are talking of investment or seeking for another job. I have ventured into diff biz, its not easy my brother. Originalsly: My advice is to travel with the intention of returning in time. Travel with mind and eyes wide open....you will see things you can do to make a much better living at home. |

Good point raised. Tokyo50: Please be advised that it is difficult for professionals to work in Canada if they are not schooled there. Their foreign certificates must be at par with Canadian ones. I have met many doctors and engineers from Africa and beyond driving taxis and delivering pizza for a living.
It is fairly easy to immigrate to Canada if you have a university degree and about $20,000 in your name. They will grant you a resident visa rigjt there in Nigeria after you complete the paperwork. However, that doesn't mean jobs are waiting for you. Every year, 200,000 people with various qualifications arrive to start a new life in Canada. They are competing with local talents and few universities mean it will take 3-6 years to get a spot to re-qualify your credentials so that they are at par with Canadian ones.
It is not an impossible task but if you are not well prepared, you will waste your talents and more. Please remember, with all the hype, Canadian economy is at par with California economy. Calculate your risks and plan well. @sandyy, still waiting for more info about the new immigration law. |

Lexusgs430: Why not just travel to Canada, find a lovely Canadian lady and marry her (for keeps o), not just for immigration purposes. One good turn, deserves another !!!! Good idea... |

sandyd: But you can switch from visitor visa to study visa with the new immigration law. That is if you are able to gain admission before your visa expires Tell me more about the new immigration law, I've searched for links, couldn't see any. Is this possible? |

If there could be a way out, would have been lovely, I have to job hunt once I get back, dont want to be in that situation again. Foregoing the visa is another piece of cake I cant afford to lose...I have tried student visa 2 years back but was denied. |

The problem is there is no Job Security as far the job is concerned, though presently I am enjoying it, who knows what will happen next? |

I am kinda new here...
This is really confusing as age is telling on man, I am on a contract job of 80k per month plus food and transport allowance. Now i have a visiting visa to Canada. Is it advisable to go knowing the fact that my job is not secured once I travel.
Few years ago, I was earning more than that only to travel out on a visiting visa to Malaysia which I was able to extend to 2 years, I came back after 8 months, the place is not meant for people like me, I regret my sojourn then, now I have another opportunity to travel to Canada with visiting visa, which means I will lose the job and I cant overstay a visiting visa. Whats the best option to take? I need street advice and honest advice pls. |
