The OWA-OOYE OF IMESI-ILE, JOINS HIS ANCESTORS

His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. Enoch Ademola Akinyemi, the Owa-Ooye of Imesi-Ile, on Fridayjoined his ancestors at 85.

He ruled his people for 21 years.

This development was disclosed by the Obaala of Imesi-Ile, High Chief Olatunde Aluko, who also indicated that traditional rites following the monarch's demise will commence same day he passed on in accordance with the customs and traditions of Imesi-Ile.

Burial arrangements and further details will be announced by the Royal Family and the Owa-Ooye-in-Council in due course.

We pray for the peaceful repose of Kabiyesi and for strength for the entire Imesi-Ile community at this difficult time.

The Asiwaju Onigbagbo (Christians) of the ancient town, Prince (Dr.) Oluwasayo Ajiboye said, "our hearts are heavy as we mourn a much loved monarch, a revered father and a symbol of the unity and heritage of our beloved community".

He prayed that the Almighty God comfort the Royal family and Grant peace, strength and unity to the entire community during this solemn period.

Imesi-Ile in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State is a town with natural hills, high mountains and caves and was the centre of the historic Jalumi and the Kiriji wars of the 19th century.

Hello house, I am a father of three children and I mistakenly got my wife pregnant again which I don't want and I've told her to let get rid of it because the pregnancy is just two weeks old and it is yet to form but she insisted that she's going to born it.

Rotary Club of Ilorin Diamond, District 9126, made history on Saturday, 27th June 2026, with the successful hosting of THE DIAMONDTARIAN QUINTUPLE LANDMARK EVENT at Sinclair Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The landmark 5-in-1 event commemorated Charter Day, Handover Ceremony, 10th Presidential Installation, Induction of New Members, and a Fundraising Dinner, while also celebrating excellence in service through a Humanitarian Award Ceremony.

UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN

PRESS STATEMENT

The management of the University of Ilorin is saddened to announce the occurrence of a motor accident on campus this afternoon.

The lone accident involved a commercial bus conveying ten passengers going out of the campus.

As soon as it occurred, the University Management immediately commenced rescue operations, and all the victims were moved to the University Health Centre. They were attended to by a team of medical personnel at the University Health Centre.

One of them needed advanced treatment and was referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) after he was stabilised.

Four had minor injuries, they were treated and discharged.
Five victims, consisting of two males, two females and the driver, are currently being treated at the University Health Centre.

Unfortunately, one of the victims was brought in dead, the body has been transferred to the morgue, and the University management is making efforts to contact the next of kin.
The Management regrets this unfortunate incident, condoles with the family of the deceased and prayed God to comfort the family while we pray for a quick recovery of the injured victims.
