The Mirror Media Team: Window to Cover Chinelo’s Evil By Mazi Nelson Okoro Okereke. In a time when truth should guide our conscience and unity should bind our community, Arochukwu Kingdom is faced with a disturbing phenomenon, the emergence of a faceless media platform calling itself The Mirror Media Team. This self-acclaimed “window for truth and justice” has, in reality, become a shield for lies, deceit, and criminal manipulation. Instead of reflecting truth, the so-called Mirror has become a dark screen projecting falsehoods crafted to defend one woman’s evil actions and her enablers. Today, I am compelled, as a son of Arochukwu and as a witness, to speak plainly. Silence in the face of evil is consent. The people deserve to know the truth that the Mirror Media Team has refused to tell. Before the passing of His Royal Highness, Eze Dr. Kanu Nwa Kanu Okereke, a grave cultural warning had already surfaced within Ibom village. In February, According to the customs of our people, when a woman in marriage is unfaithful, which act is infidelity, it's begins to pose spiritual or physical danger to a man’s life, the compound women must intervene to perform a sacred act meant to preserve life, when the woman refused to perform that, it's will forced the compound women on the act of saving the life of their son to separate the couple. In line with that tradition, Chinelo was sent away to her parents, a decision taken not out of hatred, but out of communal responsibility to save the Eze. Sadly, the inevitable still happened, just as our culture warns, “if the two are not separated, the man will die.” However, what followed after the Eze’s passing remains one of the darkest episodes in recent Arochukwu history. Having been traditionally separated, Chinelo returned to Arochukwu with the support of certain enablers, who rented an apartment for her within town. From there, she gradually re-established contact with her children and began to weave her plans. According to her own confession, she poisoned her former husband through her daughter, by instructing her to serve him poisoned food. After his death, she went further to steal his ATM card, withdraw and clear the money in his account. Not satisfied, she attempted to gain access to another bank account by forging a death certificate. That attempt failed when the bank demanded additional documentation she could not provide. Even after that, she reportedly began plotting against those she believed stood in her way, those who could block her from inheriting the late Eze’s property. Her actions, confessions, and the patterns of deceit have left a deep scar on the conscience of our community. This story is not just about betrayal and greed; it is a wake-up call to every right-thinking member of Arochukwu to uphold truth, protect justice, and guard the dignity of our traditions. But here comes a Media Without Office, Address, or Credibility; Before we even discuss their content, the first question every right-thinking person should ask is this: Where exactly is the Mirror Media Team’s office located? Who are their editors? Who signs their reports? What platform legally backs their publications? No trace. No registration. No newsroom. No physical presence anywhere in Arochukwu or Abia State. How can a nameless, faceless group without an address claim to be the “window of truth”? Truth is not written from a corner of a rented room. It is not typed in secrecy by a man running stomach infrastructure journalism, serving whichever side puts food on his table. The Mirror Media Team’s credibility begins and ends in rumor. They are not a news outlet, they are an instrument of manipulation.

We Have Received Threats From Terrorists To Bomb National Assembly - House Of Reps Members Cry Out A house of representatives committee has revealed that terrorists have threatened to bomb the national assembly. Garba Muhammad, chairman of the committee on internal security of the national assembly, spoke during a public hearing on Tuesday. The hearing was organised to consider a bill seeking to establish the legislative security directorate in the national assembly, which will outline the qualifications and conditions of service for the sergeant-at-arms and other personnel. “Security is very crucial to all arms of government, especially to the legislative arm because it is an institution where legislators, staff, executive, judiciary, individuals, organisations, protesters, demonstrators, and many more troop into on a daily basis in their droves to pursue one thing or the other,” he said. “Due to this daily massive influx of people into the parliament, criminals seek and attempt to take advantage of the situation to infiltrate, in order to conduct their dubious behaviours. “The national assembly is going through a lot of security challenges. We have experienced car thefts, motorcycle thefts, vandalism, fake Identity cards, and unwanted visitors accessing the national assembly without proper documentation, as well as petty trading, which gives the national assembly a small market appearance. “We have received threats from terrorists to bomb national assembly complex and threat from protesters to lockup the national assembly. “Legislators are exposed to threats from constituents and others who gained easy access to their offices without any formal appointment “It is obvious that with the ongoing security challenges, if proper measures are not taken, will truncate the legislative activities in the national assembly and if activities are thwarted, there will be no representation, no oversight, no annual budget, there will be no Plenary at all, and that will destabilise legislative procedure, democracy and the stability of the system, and our nation at large. “Effective security management needs a total approach that requires various elements to be integrated together in order to secure our environment for legislative procedure to function effectively and maximally.” The committee chairman said the bill seeks to address all the challenges facing the national assembly and adopt the world’s best practices of parliamentary security procedures and architecture. Muhammad said the need for effective security measures in the national assembly cannot be overemphasised, adding that “stringent security measures” must be implemented. Muhammad asked the state house of assemblies to implement the same security measures. |

Ex-Lawmaker Hails Joint Committee, Kalu for Southeast Inclusion A former member of the Abia State House of Assembly and one-time Minority Whip, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, has applauded the National Assembly Joint Committee on Constitutional Review for approving the creation of an additional state in the Southeast geopolitical zone, describing the development as a victory for justice, equity, and true federal balance. Hon. Ukoha expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CFR, for his tenacity, quality leadership, and strong commitment in championing the cause of the Southeast. He said Kalu’s tireless efforts and persuasive diplomacy during the committee’s retreat in Lagos were instrumental to the monumental decision. "We owe Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, a deep sense of gratitude for standing firm and ensuring that the voice of the Southeast was finally heard. His leadership reflects true statesmanship, equity, and a strong desire to see a prosperous Nigeria where every region is equally represented,” Ukoha said. The former lawmaker also commended the Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representatives for their forthrightness in unanimously approving the creation of a sixth state for the Southeast, the only region with five states since 1999, while others have six or seven. During the two-day retreat in Lagos, the Deputy Speaker, who co-chaired the Joint Committee alongside the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, made a compelling appeal to members to consider the Southeast’s request on the grounds of equity and national balance. His presentation was widely supported by lawmakers across all regions. Hon. Ukoha specially thanked Senator Abdul Ningi of Bauchi Central (North East), who moved the motion for the creation of the additional state, and Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka of Ogun State (South West), who seconded the motion, leading to its unanimous adoption by the committee. "This unity of purpose across regional lines shows that Nigeria can truly work when justice and fairness guide our national decisions. The Joint Committee deserves our unreserved applause,” Ukoha added. He further highlighted the socioeconomic advantages the new state will bring to the Southeast, noting that it would enhance political representation, accelerate grassroots development, and expand opportunities for federal allocation and employment. "The creation of an additional state will not only correct years of imbalance but bring government closer to the people,” he explained. “It means more funding for development from FAAC, more constituencies, more federal presence, and more opportunities for our youth.” Hon. Ukoha described the approval as a unique milestone in the nation’s democratic journey and commended the 10th National Assembly for demonstrating fairness, courage, and sensitivity to the yearnings of the people of the Southeast, who have been denied such equity since the return of democracy in 1999. "The 10th Assembly has written its name in gold. This decision will be remembered as a turning point for justice and national unity,” he said. The ex-lawmaker called on Southeast leaders to sustain their huge support for the ongoing constitutional process until the new state is fully realized, noting that the region now stands on the threshold of a more inclusive and prosperous future.
