Believers will be reunited with family and friends who also enter Paradise. (Qur’an 52:21)

10. The greatest reward: Seeing Allah
The ultimate honor and joy in Jannah is the ability to see Allah with one’s own eyes. (Hadith, Sahih Muslim)

11. Eternal life without death
Life in Jannah is everlasting, with no death or end. (Qur’an 35:35)

12. Rivers of milk, honey, and wine
Symbolizing purity and delight, these rivers flow freely in Paradise. (Qur’an 47:15)

Believers will recline on thrones and couches in a dignified manner. (Qur’an 25:75)

14. Shade and coolness
Eternal shade and coolness will provide comfort from any heat. (Qur’an 76:13)

15. No hunger or thirst
All needs and desires will be fulfilled without any suffering. (Qur’an 56:20-21)

Jannah is described as a place of unimaginable beauty, comfort, and eternal joy. The rewards encompass physical pleasures, spiritual bliss, and the highest honor of all—being in the presence of Allah. These descriptions serve to motivate believers to live righteous lives and seek Allah’s mercy. May Allah grant us the joy of Jannah without Jahannam!

Defence Minister Christopher Musa has urged Nigerian youths to take the lead in tackling insecurity, saying security agencies alone cannot solve the country’s challenges.

He stressed that security is a collective responsibility, not the duty of security agencies alone.

The minister urged youths to support security efforts through vigilance, innovation and community engagement.

Musa said empowering young people is key to addressing the root causes of insecurity.

The Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, has challenged Nigerian youths to take a leading role in the fight against insecurity, saying lasting peace and stability cannot be achieved by security agencies alone.

Musa made the call while addressing young Nigerians at a public event, where he stressed that the country’s youth population remains its greatest asset and must be actively involved in efforts to tackle security challenges affecting communities across the nation.

According to the minister, insecurity has continued to pose a major threat to national development, with issues such as banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and other criminal activities affecting lives and livelihoods in different parts of the country.


He said young people have a critical role to play because they are often closest to their communities and are well-positioned to identify suspicious activities and share useful information with relevant authorities.

Musa emphasised that security should not be viewed solely as the responsibility of the military, police and other security agencies, noting that every citizen has a role to play in protecting the country.

The defence minister urged youths to embrace patriotism, community service and civic responsibility, adding that greater collaboration between citizens and security agencies would help strengthen efforts to address security threats.

He also encouraged young Nigerians to use technology, innovation and social networks positively in supporting national security objectives rather than allowing such platforms to be exploited by criminals and those seeking to destabilise society.

According to him, meaningful youth engagement remains one of the most effective ways to address the root causes of insecurity, including unemployment, social exclusion and vulnerability to criminal recruitment.

Musa further stated that empowering young people through education, skills development and economic opportunities would help reduce crime and create a more stable society.

The minister reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to improving security across the country but stressed that government efforts alone would not be sufficient without the support and participation of citizens.


His comments come as Nigeria continues to battle various security challenges in several regions, prompting renewed discussions on the need for a whole-of-society approach to tackling insecurity.


The defence minister maintained that with the energy, creativity and numerical strength of Nigerian youths, the country possesses the human resources needed to overcome many of its security challenges if properly mobilised.

He therefore called on young Nigerians to rise above divisions and contribute actively to building safer communities and a more secure nation.

First of all, Im a catholic and I went to catholic school so muslim holidays never counted for me, if a Muslim school doesn't observe Christmas or Easter or any Catholic feast or celebration it wont matter.

Banks and offices work on sundays in Arab countries and Christmas doesnt mean nothing to them too. However if a public school in the East or south doesnt observe a statutory holiday, I ll have issues with that but if a CATHOLIC school ignores a Muslim holiday or a MUSLIM school ignore a catholic or Christian holiday that is it okay.

My opinion.

We are talking about Nigeria and not other countries
What I know is that, if this happens in a Muslim school, I know the negative comments that must have been dropped on Nairaland

Take for example, Eid-Ul-Adha the Islamic festival that is commencing today used to be celebrated as Eid-El-Kabir but today it is called Eid-Ul-Adha.

Why the name change?

Please what is the difference between the name Eid-Ul-Adha and Eid-El-Kabir ?

Why are Muslims using different name to mean the same thing?

The two names refer to the same Islamic celebration, but they come from different different meanings.

1. Eid al-Adha
This is the original Arabic name.

Eid means festival or celebration

Al-Adha means the sacrifice

So, Eid al-Adha means:
“Festival of Sacrifice”


2. Eid el-Kabir
This name is common in West Africa, especially in countries like Nigeria, Senegal, and nearby regions.
El/Kabir comes from Arabic “Al-Kabīr” meaning:
“The Big” or “The Great”

So Eid el-Kabir means:
“The Big Eid” or “The Greater Festival”

People use this name to distinguish it from Eid al-Fitr, which comes after Ramadan and is often seen as the “smaller Eid.”
