For Nigeria to increase her revenue basket with a positive balance of trade, an image maker must be employed either as ambassador or Mr. President taking up the responsibility himself.
He has done this perfectly well, it will take Nigerians years to understand what Mr. President current actions has and will continue to do for us. Nairalanders put on your thinking Cap and stop being like......

Mathematically the percentage of the Yorubas appointed by President Tinubu from both South and the North is 29.8%. Judging by the 3 Major tribe distribution30% is still in place and not out of other. Can we take a look at the Hausa and Igbo statistics in the remaining 70% and see where the truth of the data lies. Those who are laying accusing fingers might be the culprit of this matter

Nigerians are black hearted people with no good intentions for anything. We can't grow with this kind of Nigerians.

I think the admin of nairaland are somehow interested in chaotic news that are more of a gossip rather than educational. I wrote on this same topic with the intent of educating Nigerians on how countries currency value is measured, the information did not make the front page but this one which is the continuation of the media quarrel made the front page.

Nairaland GeneralWho Is Right On The Debate On Value Of Naira: Dr. Tope Fasua Vs Prof. Odinkalu by Akamon(op): 12:33pm On Apr 08, 2025
HOW TO MEASURE WORLD CURRENCIES VALUE
The recent and ever brewing debate on the value of the Nigerian currency known as Naira against other world currencies recently climaxed due to a podcast released by Seun Okinbaloye as he anchored a discussion with the SA on Economic Affairs to the President.
Below is clarity on this debate;

The long-term trends in the value of the GBP and the USD show that historically, one British pound has usually had a higher value than one U.S. dollar, this shows that the British pound is worth more than the U.S. dollar on an insignificant basis. When one country's currency is worth more than that of another in current exchange rates, it does not necessarily indicate a stronger economy or a currency with more overall worth.
Looking at a currency's worth relative to that of another currency at a static point in time is relatively meaningless when judging that currency's inherent value. For example, the Japanese yen (JPY) is regarded as one of the world's strongest currencies, yet a Japanese yen is worth only about one U.S. cent.
By some selected economic measures, let’s take a look at what makes the U.S. dollar stronger than the British pound despite the pounds worth in numerical value more than the U.S. dollar in current exchange rates.
The dollar's status as the world's reserve currency and its greater volume of trading in the forex markets are important indicators of strength.
Additionally, the U.S. economy is a larger with a stronger economy than that of the U.K., and so a greater value is placed on its currency, even if the exchange rate means that one dollar buys less than one pound sterling.
Purchasing power parity another economic measure, is a theoretical construct that provides a kind of anchor against exchange rate movements. This means that the exchange rate between two currencies should not deviate significantly from their PPP. The degree to which a currency deviates from its PPP is one popular measure of the relative strength or weakness against another currency. For example, using a rate of GBP/USD/N 1.2500, a basket of goods worth 100 pounds should cost 125 U.S. dollars and N198, 500 respectively. PPP is arguably the far more important measure of a currency value.
Safe Haven Currencies: A safe haven currency retains its value during turbulent economic times. The Swiss franc (CHF), Japanese yen, and U.S. dollar are safe haven currencies. The U.S. dollar is a popular safe haven currency due to its massive liquidity, its prevalence as a reserve currency, and the credibility of the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve. The JPY is also considered a safe-haven currency due to perpetual trade surpluses and the fact that nearly 50% of Japanese debt is held by the Bank of Japan. The CHF gets its safe-haven status primarily because one-third of global assets are held in Switzerland. When markets need to bring money home, which is the natural inclination during times of market turmoil, the three main destinations are the USD, the JPY, and the CHF.
Measuring currency convertibility also known as exchange rate. Some world currency’s has adopted fixed exchange rate regime known as currency pegging (once practiced by Nigeria and most developing nations) to an anchor currency-$ (safe haven) for identical movement (i.e the system fixes the value of a currency to another currency or a basket of currencies at a predetermined rate) while for floating exchange rate (Currently practiced by Nigeria), the value of its currency is determined by foreign exchange also known as the open market reacting to the forces of supply and demand for that currency against other currencies.
Other factors that affect currency value include a country's trade balance, economic outlook, interest rate expectations, and overall market sentiment.

Construing from the above measures as outlined, the British pound is worth more than the U.S. dollar on a nominal basis and historically, has a higher worth as judged by long-term movements in its value. However, the dollar vis-à-vis the U.S. economy is a larger and stronger economy than that of the U.K giving it more value than the British pounds

@infoguru has a sinister motive in his reportage and it's unfortunate that the approval to push this to the front did not follow due diligence.

This speaks so well on how Nigerians lack deep thinking with little cue of politics and foreign affairs, filled with negative vibes. Politics6 New States As Against The Proposed 31 States by Akamon(op): 8:32pm On Feb 07, 2025
The Nigerian media space is currently a wash with the news of a proposed 31 new states to be created in Nigeria thereby bringing the nation's state to 67 plus the Federal Capital Territory.
This news emanating from the nations National Assembly has sent negative feelings across the nation.
Below is a suggested proposal that I feel should be looked into and given a thought because it could go down well with Nigerians, though not perfect but better than the over bloated request as currently being speculated.

1. Oke-Ogun/Ijesha State (Created from Oyo, Ogun and Osun) - South West 7th State.

2. Ogoja-Apa State (Created from Cross river & Benue State) - South South 7th State

3. Okun State (Created from Kogi) - North Central 7th State

4. Adada State plus any other additional State -South East 6th & 7th State.

5. 1 additional State from North East to make it the 7th State for North East.

In total, Six States should be considered for creation as against the 31 proposed States creation. Two (2) States from the Northern region while 4 States from the Southern region) for equity and fairness.

What is your take on the above suggestion, does it sound nice? Your take on this suggestions and what is your proposal for the creation of states in Nigeria?.

Content writing and journalism plays a huge part in national building as the third realm of governance. A content that is not well researched and thought out can bring a nation to civil war and can deny a nation of foreign direct investment. Kperogi, I have time without number critic your content on many occasions because there are most times not well thought out and researched as Remo Omokri does his without going back on correction and partial apology. Revisiting your content put you in the class of clout seeking individuals who want to attain fame with ease.
You are based in abroad and your content will easily be consumed by diaspora because of your position in the academia and your ties with your homeland, so a little mistake in your content can do a great harm to your country. Brushing off your written mistake by a wave of hand is not accepted but a total change in approach to your writing without bias is advised.
Research forms the bedrock of every genuine content rather than hearsay which can reduce your journalism to a mere beer parlour conversation.
Keep up your good work but a change in your approach is highly recommended. Do not join the queue of illiterate journalism we have in Nigeria social media and renown Television stations, all interest is the click, like and traffic.

PoliticsRe: PDP Supporters Protest Allege Rigging Of Edo Governorship Election by Akamon(m): 6:38pm On Sep 22, 2024
Nigerian election is predictable because people vote based on political structures. For Edo State, most elite and nationally recognized structures are not with the outgoing Governor of the state and alot are domiciled in Edo North. The North is a no go area for the Governor, the two Gubernatorial major candidates are from the Edo central and the current Representative of the Edo central at the national assembly is the APC Candidate.
From the above one can permutate the outcome from the Edo North to be a win for APC, Edo central to be shared between APC and PDP while the Edo South is the battle ground.
Who ever that has more stronger structure takes Edo South.
In summary, State politics is different from National politics, no matter the sentiment, when it's comes to local politics it's boils down to My brother My Senatorial Zone and My political structure dependants interest.

Averting Economic Chaos and Social Unrest

Dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,

I write to you today as one of your last few well-wishers, urging you to take immediate action to address the crippling issues in the energy sector. The situation has reached a boiling point, and I fear that if left unchecked, it will lead to unprecedented social unrest and destruction.

The Alarming State of Affairs

In the North, petrol prices have skyrocketed to as high as ₦1,000 per liter, same situation is currently been witnessed in Lagos and most part of Nigeria making it a luxury only a few can afford. The scarcity of fuel has brought economic activities to a grinding halt, and the masses are suffering from the indirect effect this will have on food price and price gauging. Food prices are already out of reach for many, and if this situation persists, it will lead to widespread hunger and desperation.I advise that's if this last a little while, going to Street and destruction will not be by notice and engagement from the informed elites but by blood against bullets from the hungry illiterate and literate Nigerians across regions (God forbids).

Urgent Recommendations

To avert this impending disaster, I implore you to take the following immediate actions:

1. Cap the FOREX rate
Direct the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to cap the FOREX rate at ₦700-₦900 to stabilize the economy and reduce the pressure on the federal government.
2. Reduce spending allocation
Instruct the Presidential Budget and Monitoring Office to reduce spending allocation for capital expenditures, except for critical projects, to alleviate pressure on the federal government's non-essential needs.
3. Reduce FAAC allocation
Immediately reduce the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocation to states to prevent further economic strain.
4. Increase oil production
Take drastic measures to increase oil production, as this is the easiest way to reduce pressure and hunger in the land. Heads must roll if this is not achieved.

Past Governments Recap
As we all know before now, the former President Olusegun Obasanjo took on Telecommunications and Finance sector headlong, President Muhammad Buhari took on the Energy sector by assisting and facilitating Dangote Refinery, he went further to Collaborate with Siemens to provide power infrastructure and help in Power generation and PMB also prioritized Rail construction a subsector of Transportation sector.

A Legacy at Stake

Mr. President, your brilliant economic model is at risk of being overshadowed by the current economic crisis steming from change in the Nigerian economic system. You have the opportunity to make history by focusing on two critical sectors and living a mark for post administration performance rating:

1. Health sector
I implore your humble office to prioritize investment in state of the art and tourist attraction mega healthcare facilities and health care systems to improve the lives of Nigerians and a become a health hub for sub Saharan Africa.
2. Educational sector
Select from already existing Federal Universities at least two each from the 6 geopolitical zones, Develop top-notch and tourist attractions educational infrastructure to empower future generations. Change the syllables to more practical oriented programs, NYSC purpose should be changed to skills acquisition center,

Minister Wike should oversee the facility provisions within the remaining years of your tenure.
By doing so, you will secure your legacy and be remembered as a president who made a positive impact on Nigeria.

The Clock is Ticking

Time is running out, and history is waiting to judge your presidency. I urge you to take these recommendations seriously and act swiftly to prevent economic collapse and social unrest, while the new Free market economic system take it course.

Yours sincerely,

Akatu Simon Adogwu

President Bola Tinubu’s tenure as the chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government comes to an end today (Sunday).

The 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority is holding at the Presidential Villa in Abuja where he is expected to pass on the torch to another leader.

Tinubu was unanimously endorsed as chairman in July 2024 at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.

Since then, the Nigerian leader has dealt with challenges particularly military coups in member states. The president initially took a strong stance against unconstitutional changes of government in Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, Mali and Guinea, overseeing the imposition of sanctions on them.

However, the sanctions were later lifted as the sub-regional body opted for a more peaceful approach to resolve the issues.

Are you still looking for where the evil lies? Tell me you are joking. What drive prices in our economy are majorly pms, diesel and dollar rate. Check their standings now and your answer is there
This we all know is the root of all cost of foods we are experiencing currently in Nigeria. If you carefully look at the situation, the transportation of goods from North is majorly done by trucks using diesel with a price increase from N960 under PMB to at current 1100-1200.
The question is what should be the percentage of the increase to the food cost? This is where the middle men Nigerian factor comes in, they swindle the market to their gains against the common man and the manufacture of this raw products.
Same is done by those who are importing goods and blame it on forex Factor.
The above is what gave birth to the price war we are seeing between the south importing goods price hike and the North agricultural produce Price hike. You steal from me I steal from you back. You do me I do you
The succour to the greedy price war can only be solved by FCCPC, critically looking at the effect of the Energy price increase and the percentage rate at which this is to have on the realistic price of agricultural produce and imported goods based on cost of logistics within the country.

What sensible Nigerians are asking these people forcing everyone to accept a stolen mandate is this:

Why are they all focused on Peter Obi they said came a distant third? Leaving Atiku they claimed came second on a more popular party PDP?

Why are these old fools not forcing or begging Atiku to accept the election result?

Can anybody tell me who came 3rd in 2019 Presidential election?

Can we also know who came 3rd in 2015, 2011, etc Presidential elections?

Why is the man they claimed came 3rd more important to criticize, condemn, attack and denigrate more than the man that is currently the failing President?

I know their guilty conscience can't let them rest, but no wahala, I just pray for good health and long life to witness the end of this charade by some section of Nigeria cool
Obi has been moving up and down with noise, acting as if we are still in election season. Atiku is quite and throwing opposition punches from his house, kwankwaso is quiet and not granting media interviews to heat up the polity.
Obi will critic INEC, supreme court and anything he sees carrying the media with him and obedient trumpets.
The Truth be told, an Igbo Man can never be president without aligning with Yorubas and Hausas, but making them your enemies is forever a fluke.
I wish I can be his advisor and make him sit down and strategize in the dark.
Hausas follow Hausa Media house's and they see Igbo as enemy, so all noise don't get to them.
Online noise don't measure Nigeria pulse

ANC and EFF are both left wing, only DA is right wing and supports free-market (capitalism).
ANC and EFF both support Hamas/Palestine.
EFF is an off-shoot of ANC and simply put is just a more radical off-shoot. They can both collaborate together. Especially if Malema can be removed as party leader and his deputy put in his place instead. No thanks.
Nice shot but for your information South Africa and most democratic nations are capitalist country's. Meaning more of privately controlled system and that's what South Africa is currently practicing under ANC government but for Malema ideology, all mining company's, banking sector, utility sectors be nationalized. Seize land's from the white's and share it for the Black citizens, ANC want this like you said but they are afraid and shy meaning EFF Offshoot which is a radical ideology of ÀNC ideology is saying give us Power and we achieve this goal in full and not embracing capitalism while faking a nationalist ideology like ANC.
How do a fakist (Con) marry a realist?.
You want to remove the human representative of the radical ideology who's party popularity is birthed on? Can you remove Peter Obi and maintain Obidients?
You think this is Nigeria?

It's not that easy the way you think, I think we Nigerians are most times naive because we don't read and research.
For ANC to partner with other party, there must be harmonization of Party ideology and goals.
DA will not work with ANC because they are pro Isrealite while ANC are pro Palestine, which party will drop it's ideology for the other.
ANC Chair Ramaphosa is an mortal enemy to Jacob Zuma MKK, how do they aline themselves and agree in hatred, imagine Obi and his obidients aligning with President Tinubu and his APC.

This is how Nigeria is today, youth's not having Ideas but want to contribute their ill thought views.
