@infoguru has a sinister motive in his reportage and it's unfortunate that the approval to push this to the front did not follow due diligence. Eight Man team ended up with listing executives from South West and leaving others from other region, knowing how polarized Nigerians are and will not go further to verify the News. This is a bad reportage with a sinister motive. |
May the name of the Lord God Almighty be praised. Let those whom your gospel has reached be redeemed from the captivity of Satan. Amen |
How can almost all niaralanders above me speak badly of Donald Trump in a negative Way. This speaks so well on how Nigerians lack deep thinking with little cue of politics and foreign affairs, filled with negative vibes. Non explained the Congestion Pricing but all proceeds to comments (Misdirected energy). Congestion Pricing cancellation is more of tax relief for American car users in Manhattan and it's environs. It should be applauded by his people but not ignoramus in Nigeria who don't study. |
The Nigerian media space is currently a wash with the news of a proposed 31 new states to be created in Nigeria thereby bringing the nation's state to 67 plus the Federal Capital Territory. This news emanating from the nations National Assembly has sent negative feelings across the nation. Below is a suggested proposal that I feel should be looked into and given a thought because it could go down well with Nigerians, though not perfect but better than the over bloated request as currently being speculated. 1. Oke-Ogun/Ijesha State (Created from Oyo, Ogun and Osun) - South West 7th State. 2. Ogoja-Apa State (Created from Cross river & Benue State) - South South 7th State 3. Okun State (Created from Kogi) - North Central 7th State 4. Adada State plus any other additional State -South East 6th & 7th State. 5. 1 additional State from North East to make it the 7th State for North East. In total, Six States should be considered for creation as against the 31 proposed States creation. Two (2) States from the Northern region while 4 States from the Southern region) for equity and fairness. What is your take on the above suggestion, does it sound nice? Your take on this suggestions and what is your proposal for the creation of states in Nigeria?. |
Content writing and journalism plays a huge part in national building as the third realm of governance. A content that is not well researched and thought out can bring a nation to civil war and can deny a nation of foreign direct investment. Kperogi, I have time without number critic your content on many occasions because there are most times not well thought out and researched as Remo Omokri does his without going back on correction and partial apology. Revisiting your content put you in the class of clout seeking individuals who want to attain fame with ease. You are based in abroad and your content will easily be consumed by diaspora because of your position in the academia and your ties with your homeland, so a little mistake in your content can do a great harm to your country. Brushing off your written mistake by a wave of hand is not accepted but a total change in approach to your writing without bias is advised. Research forms the bedrock of every genuine content rather than hearsay which can reduce your journalism to a mere beer parlour conversation. Keep up your good work but a change in your approach is highly recommended. Do not join the queue of illiterate journalism we have in Nigeria social media and renown Television stations, all interest is the click, like and traffic. |
All nations have their peculiar challenges, if you don't market your country other people will demarket it for you. Foreign investors deals with 80% News emanating from countries of interest and that mould investors perception about the country. You blackmail your country and yet you want Foreign Direct Investment. Today, Isreal is fighting multi war from all fronts, yet no citizen of Isreal is badmouthing Isreal and it's safety status as regards Christians visiting for religious practices. The rate of domestic gun killing in USA is likely more than death by terrorism in Nigeria, yet one of the two nation will critic while the other knows how to manage the situation. The educational rate in Nigeria is high but 90% of the educated are illiterate and it's a disease that needs an urgent cure before it consumes the country |
I can't wait to vote Wike or President Tinubu for President come 2027 |
Nigerian election is predictable because people vote based on political structures. For Edo State, most elite and nationally recognized structures are not with the outgoing Governor of the state and alot are domiciled in Edo North. The North is a no go area for the Governor, the two Gubernatorial major candidates are from the Edo central and the current Representative of the Edo central at the national assembly is the APC Candidate. From the above one can permutate the outcome from the Edo North to be a win for APC, Edo central to be shared between APC and PDP while the Edo South is the battle ground. Who ever that has more stronger structure takes Edo South. In summary, State politics is different from National politics, no matter the sentiment, when it's comes to local politics it's boils down to My brother My Senatorial Zone and My political structure dependants interest. |
ivolt:Those at the helms of affairs are humans like all other Nigerians, when they come across contents that provides solutions to issues, they borrow a leaf without coming out to tell us where the idea comes from. If Nigerians continue to put their thoughts on pen and paper, you might Indirectly provide assistance without you knowing it. That's my thought over this. |
budaatum:We have seen countless times where governments in power take a leaf of advise from Nairaland and other Media houses to effect changes in governance. Who can tell |
Averting Economic Chaos and Social Unrest Dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I write to you today as one of your last few well-wishers, urging you to take immediate action to address the crippling issues in the energy sector. The situation has reached a boiling point, and I fear that if left unchecked, it will lead to unprecedented social unrest and destruction. The Alarming State of Affairs In the North, petrol prices have skyrocketed to as high as ₦1,000 per liter, same situation is currently been witnessed in Lagos and most part of Nigeria making it a luxury only a few can afford. The scarcity of fuel has brought economic activities to a grinding halt, and the masses are suffering from the indirect effect this will have on food price and price gauging. Food prices are already out of reach for many, and if this situation persists, it will lead to widespread hunger and desperation.I advise that's if this last a little while, going to Street and destruction will not be by notice and engagement from the informed elites but by blood against bullets from the hungry illiterate and literate Nigerians across regions (God forbids). Urgent Recommendations To avert this impending disaster, I implore you to take the following immediate actions: 1. Cap the FOREX rate Direct the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to cap the FOREX rate at ₦700-₦900 to stabilize the economy and reduce the pressure on the federal government. 2. Reduce spending allocation Instruct the Presidential Budget and Monitoring Office to reduce spending allocation for capital expenditures, except for critical projects, to alleviate pressure on the federal government's non-essential needs. 3. Reduce FAAC allocation Immediately reduce the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocation to states to prevent further economic strain. 4. Increase oil production Take drastic measures to increase oil production, as this is the easiest way to reduce pressure and hunger in the land. Heads must roll if this is not achieved. Past Governments Recap As we all know before now, the former President Olusegun Obasanjo took on Telecommunications and Finance sector headlong, President Muhammad Buhari took on the Energy sector by assisting and facilitating Dangote Refinery, he went further to Collaborate with Siemens to provide power infrastructure and help in Power generation and PMB also prioritized Rail construction a subsector of Transportation sector. A Legacy at Stake Mr. President, your brilliant economic model is at risk of being overshadowed by the current economic crisis steming from change in the Nigerian economic system. You have the opportunity to make history by focusing on two critical sectors and living a mark for post administration performance rating: 1. Health sector I implore your humble office to prioritize investment in state of the art and tourist attraction mega healthcare facilities and health care systems to improve the lives of Nigerians and a become a health hub for sub Saharan Africa. 2. Educational sector Select from already existing Federal Universities at least two each from the 6 geopolitical zones, Develop top-notch and tourist attractions educational infrastructure to empower future generations. Change the syllables to more practical oriented programs, NYSC purpose should be changed to skills acquisition center, Minister Wike should oversee the facility provisions within the remaining years of your tenure. By doing so, you will secure your legacy and be remembered as a president who made a positive impact on Nigeria. The Clock is Ticking Time is running out, and history is waiting to judge your presidency. I urge you to take these recommendations seriously and act swiftly to prevent economic collapse and social unrest, while the new Free market economic system take it course. Yours sincerely, Akatu Simon Adogwu |
It took kperogi 1yr and 3 months to understand that the Nigerian Economic model was changed. It's a shame, I expect this your analysis to have come up 1-2 months after PBAT changed the economic model but till date you are still grasping to understand. You made mentioned of the Asian Tiger's all adopting an economic model living Malaysia, you in your crooked way to misdirect Nigerians did not mention the outcome of the nations that adopted the model and give a comparative analysis between their economy today e.g South Korea, Singapore (though omitted this country), Thailand and others and the economy of Malaysia. I always doubt your competence and sincerity. You didn't know that the inability of frontier nation to adopt this model as harsh as it is, is what has kept African nations were there are. Eat the future today and wait for God's intervention to prosper you. Try to study without the intention of being bias |
I can't wait to see Wike President of Nigeria. He is the Best thing that has happened to Nigeria of recent. If he can manage Benue state as a Governor my dream will come true |
bestofnollywood:In your childish journalism, you didn't know he was unanimously Re-elected after your post. Why feed people with with half baked information |
When a child don't have a clue about his/her root, all they do is to blame everyone for thier predicament. If our current growth is not given as an approved liberation, we go nowhere. The god's have to be appeased. Do you know what the consequences of our success will cause to the god's and his economy. Sit down the play. Though I thought the key of liberation was handed over but I can see the handwriting is not in favor. Those who have ears let them hear. |
zikter:This we all know is the root of all cost of foods we are experiencing currently in Nigeria. If you carefully look at the situation, the transportation of goods from North is majorly done by trucks using diesel with a price increase from N960 under PMB to at current 1100-1200. The question is what should be the percentage of the increase to the food cost? This is where the middle men Nigerian factor comes in, they swindle the market to their gains against the common man and the manufacture of this raw products. Same is done by those who are importing goods and blame it on forex Factor. The above is what gave birth to the price war we are seeing between the south importing goods price hike and the North agricultural produce Price hike. You steal from me I steal from you back. You do me I do you The succour to the greedy price war can only be solved by FCCPC, critically looking at the effect of the Energy price increase and the percentage rate at which this is to have on the realistic price of agricultural produce and imported goods based on cost of logistics within the country. |
Government don't pay ICAN, CIPM, CIBN and others. This Institutions are professional bodies like the ones attaching themselves to the Ministry of Health. Government earlier in the year told them to fund themselves from their membership certification and examinations levy as done by the above listed organization. The writer of this content is one sided and partially speaking to the truth. |
This is the only way to go, FCCPC if not gotten right, Tinubu government will be gone. Prices have skyrocketed and the Institution holds the ace to correct the abnormally. I expect the head to sit with manufacturers, Middle men and look into their books and see where the evil lies and draw the sword immediately within 1 month of this appointment. |
franchasofficia:Obi has been moving up and down with noise, acting as if we are still in election season. Atiku is quite and throwing opposition punches from his house, kwankwaso is quiet and not granting media interviews to heat up the polity. Obi will critic INEC, supreme court and anything he sees carrying the media with him and obedient trumpets. The Truth be told, an Igbo Man can never be president without aligning with Yorubas and Hausas, but making them your enemies is forever a fluke. I wish I can be his advisor and make him sit down and strategize in the dark. Hausas follow Hausa Media house's and they see Igbo as enemy, so all noise don't get to them. Online noise don't measure Nigeria pulse |
TEYA:When this happens in your country, you will stand on the mountain top to cry evil, corruption and murder. As long as it's not Nigeria it's ok for you. What an evil thinking and expression |
WhizdomXX:Nice shot but for your information South Africa and most democratic nations are capitalist country's. Meaning more of privately controlled system and that's what South Africa is currently practicing under ANC government but for Malema ideology, all mining company's, banking sector, utility sectors be nationalized. Seize land's from the white's and share it for the Black citizens, ANC want this like you said but they are afraid and shy meaning EFF Offshoot which is a radical ideology of ÀNC ideology is saying give us Power and we achieve this goal in full and not embracing capitalism while faking a nationalist ideology like ANC. How do a fakist (Con) marry a realist?. You want to remove the human representative of the radical ideology who's party popularity is birthed on? Can you remove Peter Obi and maintain Obidients? You think this is Nigeria? Your answer will be appreciated |
I will be very grateful to see Wike be one of the President of Nigeria in our history. Africa needs infrastructural and economic growth. Wike has shown to the world that Africa can grow infrastructuraly. What else do we need I am not from the south neither am I a PDP member but I am beginning to love good delivering governance from Minister Wike. I wish him well, Abuja is currently a place to be because it pleases the sight. |
WhizdomXX:EFF is headed by Julius Malema, he is more of a socialist which doesn't conform with the current practice by ANC in South Africa which is capitalism. Left for Malema all their economic growth sector will be nationalize, this is against the interest of South Africa and the West, even BRICS. He has refused to learn from Zimbabwe crash. Will ANC agree to collaborate with this kind of ideology for national strategic goals. This are the give and take challenges faced by ANC . This what is lacking in Nigeria, all our political party ideology are One. If I have you guys support I am ready to come up with an ideology that is different from the one practiced ideology here in Nigeria but the truth is tribalism and religion will be our youth's stock in trade THANKS my brother |
WhizdomXX:It's not that easy the way you think, I think we Nigerians are most times naive because we don't read and research. For ANC to partner with other party, there must be harmonization of Party ideology and goals. DA will not work with ANC because they are pro Isrealite while ANC are pro Palestine, which party will drop it's ideology for the other. ANC Chair Ramaphosa is an mortal enemy to Jacob Zuma MKK, how do they aline themselves and agree in hatred, imagine Obi and his obidients aligning with President Tinubu and his APC. It's not about jumping online with words that freely comes out of our mouth but how literate are you towards the topic. This is how Nigeria is today, youth's not having Ideas but want to contribute their ill thought views. |
LadyExcellency:Yes, that is the system the current constitution has presented to us to adopt. The present government is trying to do away with the norm and adopt the federating system that was once practiced and ditched by the people of South East. It's time you and all well meaning Nigerians support the current government in this regards, put pressure on your National Assembly representatives so that the battle can be swiftly won. It's not everything we politicize. |
kikake:Are you saying the election that Ushered in President Jonathan and President Buhari is not a Worthy testament election and not a popular choice?. President Jonathan election broke the chain of majority continuous rulership to a minority and that of President Buhari Ushered in an opposition which you hardly see in African nations. President Tinubu came into power with slim margin votes ahead of 2 & 3rd position, which is better than what you're seeing in South Africa. Our system of governance is somehow different or else PDP & LP combined vote which is above 11million as against APC 8M was supposed to usher in an opposition coalition government. Please educate yourself and stop making jest of your self |
ANC took power from Minority Whites, PDP took power from Minority Military so why the ill comparison of ANC and APC. That's Illiteracy at the highest level, what you guys are wishing for in south Africa already took place in Nigeria 25years Back. |
How do we unite to critic this evil act from our fellow African brothers, when at home here in Nigeria tribes has made themselves toxic to themselves. Refusing to accept anything about our country. Outside your country you're called immigrants in your beloved country you call yourself non Nigerian. How do we solve this problems |
Where's the Kenyan CNN Reporter. CNN/BBC must hear this |
Air Peace disrupted flight Price, all Nigerians sang his praise and was commended across all tribes. Dangote refinery disrupted Price upon entry into the market, instead of celebrating Nigeria as now an oil product producing Nation and no longer an importing nation, a breakthrough for Africa, a section of Nigerians in their normal way tongue lashes him and the government, poured insult and their hatred. The two feats are from sons of Nigerians, there both were made possible by the Nigerian Government and the benefits is for we all. Yet, one is more loved because it's claimed to be their son, same hue and cry was heard when Landmark Lagos business was marked for demolition for a high feat Road construction, the Landmark became more important than the entire road project, tone of sectional hatred filled the Air. Peter Obi constructed borehole that recieved critism across the country but yet it was all applause from them, they mobilized and poured same insult on Desmond Elliot's project. Where are we going, what message are we passing to our children. While growing up, I heard of this bad blood and now I am grown and witnessing this continuous daily hatred spill from a section against the other sections is disappointing . Yet daily cry of been desliked despite the first to draw blood against the other. There's no achievement from anyone from the other section of this country that is worthy of praise to this same set of person's, whether old or Young. If Dangote would have been their son, the narrative would have been a song praise for him for a feat worthy to be praised and no complaints about the price. Dangote should be commended first for the feat, he has put us on the Map of a producing nation. In all, for every $100 dollar made by Dangote, $35 belongs to Nigerians through the government. It's and all round win. The Price will later come down. Singaporeans will always advice that for a nation to grow like they did all difference's in religion, ethnicity and others must be set aside and focus on development. |
Before now, I thought Kperogi was a brilliant genius who think deep and make top notch contributions. I currently doubt his intelligence on certain matters for public discuss. In these particular matter, Kperogi goofed big time. His stance for the poor is highly commendable but using that to cheaply blackmail the president calls your analysis to question. NERC has come out to inform Nigerians that the electricity subsidy removal was only for Band A users. This decision does not affect Band B to E electricity consumption by Nigerians. NERC released Kaduna Residents Band A users and it shows only 25 housing locations. This action taken is highly courageous from Mr. President in the sense that the rich no longer enjoy Electricity subsidy and money recoup will help to provide more electricity supply to other bands and graduate them from lower bands to higher bands. Is Kperogi supporting the poor here or acting as the devils advocate for the Rich in disguise. Please we all are not gullible The government action will recoup funds from the rich for gas purchase by NBET, since gas makes up of over 70% of our power generation. This has been the bottle neck holding the power sector down, NBET Collect gas for the Gencos and act as a guarantor, Gencos produce this electricity and supply to the disco's, the disco's feed all the band's at a cheaper rate, especially Band A who has been enjoying light secretly daily. Disco's cannot recoup enough money to payback to the Gencos and Gencos cannot pay NBET for the GAS, rendering the gas companies ineffective because of the huge debt owed. Prof. Kperogi please do a better research on this for a constructive comment |
