This message is for the naira land management. How will your platform be allowed for peddling misinformation. How can an utility bill charge for a section of Nigerians be used as the general energy Bill for the entire country. Giving room for anger spillage from citizens |
Nigeria is a great country, all we need is large available fund to execute our projects. That's why Forex pegging and subsidy have to go. Now we are beginning to be a rich country, and later become a wealthy nation. Nations will start looking at as us just like China currently is. The key of success has been granted to Nigeria by PBAT |
Understanding Naira Stability and Economic Realities in Nigeria In recent times, there has been a growing concern among both seasoned economic analysts and layman Nigerians alike regarding the stability of the Naira and the factors influencing its value against foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar. However, it is evident that there exists a significant gap in understanding how forex pegging and floating mechanisms work in the context of Naira stability. One critical aspect often overlooked is the role of local economic dynamics and the influence of domestic policies on currency stability. The recent clampdown on Binance operators and Aboki forex traders by the Nigerian government has shed light on the detrimental effects of uncontrolled forex trading on the Naira's value. Many Nigerians were unaware that the falling Naira was a consequence of local manipulation within a faulty system that had been allowed to thrive and integrate into the formal economy, disrupting the natural balance. It is essential to recognize that the measures taken by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stabilize the currency have yielded positive results, albeit gradual. However, further stability will require deliberate policy interventions directed towards key sectors of the economy by the fiscal arm of the government. These sectors serve as drivers of economic growth, fostering exportation and self-dependence, thus bolstering the Naira's value upwards to levels below N700-N500. Similarly, the artificial price hikes witnessed across the country are a result of middlemen manipulation, exploiting the perception of a rising dollar against the Naira. This practice not only distorts market dynamics but also exacerbates inflationary pressures, ultimately burdening the populace. Nigerians must endeavor to understand the intricacies of the economy and refrain from armchair criticisms, instead advocating for informed policy decisions and proactive measures to address underlying issues. I will conclude by saying that achieving Naira stability requires a multifaceted approach that encompasses both local and global factors. By fostering a deeper understanding of economic mechanisms and encouraging active engagement in policy discourse, Nigerians can contribute to building a more resilient and prosperous economy for all. It is time to transcend armchair criticism and embrace a more proactive stance towards economic development and stability. |
Babaken:You can add and cost the above listed as the last stage |
dangoteinlaw:You can go ahead with the rough estimate |
Willed042:I am only educating you and other political neophytes who don't understand the science of Nigeria politics. |

Messiah obedient LP is dancing the spiritual ruggede dance in the public market place with Messiah NLC. This is a lesson for we all that our beloved Nigeria is not a country where angels are resident only in our area of interest while others are believed to be harboring sinners but we are the same Nigerians with unique deficiency and unique area of strength. |
Willed042:Why won't childishness and political myopia not leave your door. You guys will hardly understand politics, that's why till date the science of wike sacrifice is still not understood by you guy's. Why always at a loggerhead with your fellow southerners even when there are noticeable difference, the North has this difference but unite in times of political needs. The day the southerners unite, that's when the political tide of this nation changes. Tinubu and wike individually has shown you guys that a single southerner can take the North to it's kneels. Wike have set a political precedence about the fear for any region in Nigeria and while Tinubu taught us lesson that no region is more powerful. It's time to unite and stop setting us back. |
The day Nigerians channel their energy of criticism and holding government accountable to the state governors, that will be the day Nigerians will be liberated, dividends of democracy will start getting to all it's citizenry, that's when our countries journey from a frontier economy to a developing economy begins. The Statee are extremely pampered and overlooked by Nigerians, civil organizations and the media houses. But our development actually lies in the State. Imagine our States competing in infrastructure like Abuja because of commitment by our governors, the Grass become Green for all of Us. |
The guys on this platform are too naive about their own country. The current Commodity price in Nigeria is mostly due to artificial price increase. Whole sellers disrupted the pricing system during the recent dollar increase by daily adjusting prices of commodity through media platforms while retailers effected the price increase on their own part of the market. This wasnt as a result of demand and supply law of economics but artificial disruption. When dollar rate on the parallel market started a backward turn the wholesalers because of greed has refused to make a turnaround. This is what is giving rise to the deliberate attacks on warehouses and attacks on trucks on highways. The way out of this ugly trend of fixated price hike while causing hardship for their fellow Nigerians is for the middle Men to pedal down their greed immediately or else Nigerians will turn their wrath on them thereby destroying their businesses in one swoop. The FG has told Nigerians that the wholesalers are the cause of the hardship, so let them trade carefully. |
He will be set free this time around. It's a game plan. |
Binance and it's like is not supposed to be a threat to a nation admitting it's trading. But when you have rogues using the platform for trading, the outcome will never be palatable. The traders of such trading platform are suppose to adhere to it's international SOP but when it's operation is hijacked to obliterate a nations economy as currently done in Nigeria. A situation where the platform becomes a determinant of a nations FOREX, then it looses it's host nations right of operation. Nigerians by blood are greedy especially when they're not guided by laws, even by laws, we still behave evil. Binance don't users don't pay tax on their trading, government cannot borrow from them. All they do in Nigeria is an arbitrary dollar price hike. |
The remittance from UK is artificial. Most remittances are student remittance for round tripping. They send dollar back home, convert it to Naira, use the CBN trade system to pay their school fees. The remaining balance is used to buy dollar back into their dollar account or invest it back home. While others is for Aboki forex trading |
Nigeria is a Great country, we are getting there. This achievement and that of Dangote when in optimal operations will reduce our import demand statistics, improve our Ballance of trade and payment deficit, fractionally reduce inflation etc. Kudos to PMB & PBAT. |
Court will decide this. |
Thanks to Pres. Tinubu and Fmr. Pres. Buhari. The two foremost visionary leaders this nation will ever be thankful to have ever produced. May your both names be ever written in gold. God bless you both mightily. |
Sai Baba Buhari. May God continue to bless your foresight. Your good name shall never be forgotten. You made this come through for Nigerians. In good health shall you live. Amen |
Nigerians most times are shock with this type of News, this is so because they have been programmed to underrate their country, insult their nation. They are educated to Professor level but at the same time they are very illiterate and myopic in their thinking. They are not different from wheel barrow pushers in the market because conjured uninformed information from a beer parlor talk is taken by them hook line and sinker. The current world system is driven by Data, if you don't have access to the latest information, you simply keep quiet and seek further knowledge. On Arise TV News yesterday, Rufai Oseni was criticing the Nigerian Aviation as if we have the worst aviation in the world, but today through this new information we have seen that we are ranked very high and this is because most Nigerians now no longer travel by Road. You wonder were they get the money from, it shows that Nigerians are rich and can afford the travel fare. This simply shows that our perception about the country is wrong because no standard body is releasing this data's to us to see. |

What kind of country are we in. FG want to share palliative NLC and it's obedient arm complained of corruption. FG has relinquish itself from the lead to the states that is more closer to the people, yet NLC and obidients are still complaining. I will stand in support of the government to imprison any endangered species bearing the name NLC and mischievous obidients. Why acting as stumbling block to the growth of this nation. They cannot offer any advise or substitutional recommendation, daft individuals. What a country. |
I can't wait to hear from Obi Ezekweseli's reaction towards this. May be she will be silent as ever when it involves her constituency. #ALL OKBOLOR EYES ON Labour in Practice#, the Slayer of every good thing in Nigeria. |
SunTzu123:Why your Refinery can't work and if it works, it won't get crude supplied to it. This guy's are more intelligent than ordinary Nigerians because of their access to informations that we all don't have. The reason is basically because of the OPEC quota given to its member nations and the need for dollar for it's Forex reserve. I can't go more than this, it's a public forum. Please connect the dots. Thanks |
Nigeria has a youth population that lacks educational improvement. They believe the world is local with boundaries called their country. They are unable to apply what they learnt in school to the world realities and continue to deceive themselves based on tribal, religious and party lines. They don't read to learn and apply their knowledge to daily realities, yet they want power to be transitioned to them(What a hypocritical youth). Check their comments here on Nairaland and other social media handles, you will spit because their words don't push out logical reasoning. Where have we got it wrong. Let's change our ways, study to make educative comments. UK has of recent increased interest rate continuously to battle inflation, though it's same model across the world but countries need to tilt theirs e.g while Nigeria increase her rate, supply sector should be worked on(Interest rate increase is a model that must be used), Ghana has an Inflation rate above 42%(yet you rubbish your country Nigeria that has 23.%), in Africa Nigeria is among the Nations with a reasonable inflation rate (though not happy with it). Please let us read, Government officials might be reading our comments on platforms to learn and develop on. |
All NLC wanted is a mere pronouncement of word of commitment in Aso Rock, same word would have been forced out in same location. We have now gone back to were there started, sitting and waiting. NLC want to go to the street and de-market the FG. |
Are Nigerians unaware of President Tinubu's chosen style of economic system or is the nation citizenry uninformed? I think the above subject matter needs immediate clarification so that the current government can either do more to educate Nigerians on their adopted economy model chosen or bring it to a halt if Nigerians cannot take the economic system practiced. I believe Nigerians have repeatedly heard over media platforms about Free Market economy since the current government came on board. This have shown that the model style of economic system practiced by the government is a Capitalist System Economy or what is known as Free Market economy. Let's take a look at what this meant Capitalist System This is the most predominant economic system practiced in the world today(Though absent in major part of Africa). In this system, the capital is privately owned and distributed and distribution mechanism is left to the market to allocate the resources. Going by the “Invisible Hand” of Adam Smith that guides the allocation of resources, it is deemed that the market does a good job of determining which sectors receive the capital and how much. According to laissez faire mode of capitalism the state has minimal responsibility in the economic system and is seen as a “hands off” player rather than being interventionist. The state is expected to have regulatory mechanisms in place and ensure that the market corrections are supervised and the state steps in whenever there is a crisis of liquidity or other market failures. This system is highly driven by 1. A profit driven system because of the international transaction involvement (Foreign Direct Investment & Foreign Portfolio Investment), 2. Market forces driven by demand and supply 3. Government interventions and not involvement. In lieu of the above clarification Nigerians needs to come to terms that the previously practiced socialist System of economic Model where Government is involved in the market system, price fixing and subsidy provision is no longer in vogue. This is the model of practice that has been able to unite the European Union, North America Free Trade Agreement. It's an economic model that China and other Asian nations are currently practicing and has made them a global integrated economic States. This new economic model adopted by Mr. President will pursue the followings as a Free market; 1. Removal of Subsidies in critical areas that is impoverishing the nation (This will cause a short term hardship because of were we are coming from). 2. The revenue generated will be plunged back into the system to improve Agriculture, education, health care and other hard infrastructure provision instead of going to borrow to sustain the economy and been declared a non attractive and non loan worthy as was done during the socialist System. 3. Education and Trade reforms 4. Globalization will automatically be incorporated as it's one of the benefits of a Free Market economy. 5. Its speculated that Free Market economy works hand in hand with security because a nations boundary (Close System) is eroded because of the economic integration. Security might be tackled because of the huge foreign investment and spread of wealth. I believe the above will provide a little insight to the system of economy we are currently practicing and not been misled by ignorance. We have to face the current reality |
NATION ON PATH TO GREATNESS Though the short term effect is overbearing and compared to a hellish life to the common man. This is how the state of our Nation currently stands and how Nigerians sees the president reform policy framework. The above is so because, where we Nigerians are coming from is a place of extreme comfort (likened to "heaven on earth" ), a place of subsidy across board though it's a common practice across the globe comparatively but more of a selected and targeted interventions unlike ours that is more like that of a socialist country. The listed below is what I think necessitated Mr. Presidents actions in the nation's recent economic reforms. Nigeria State of Economy: Nigeria total Revenue generation in recent time (2022) stands at an average N6Trillion (Oil and Non Oil combined) and her debt servicing stands at around N5T, leaving nothing for the nation to stand on. The Former president (Mohammadu Buhari) desperately want to leave a positive mark behind and to do something for the nation goes out all out cap in hand to secure loans to keep the nation floating and to stay alive . His decision kept increasing our debt burden so as to provide and resolve the following National needs; 1. Pay for Subsidy worth N4-5T(Sea freight cost, land transport cost and other overheads) 2. Subsidize Forex to the tune of N4T yearly to meet Nigeria yearning for importation and keeping Forex down at N450+/$.(During Emefieles regime) 3. Payment of salary to meet the nation worker's needs. 4. Drive the budget capital implementation and others (We were completely living on borrowed money) Putting the fuel subsidy, the Forex subsidy, debt servicing and listed others together puts Nigeria as an un attractive country that is heavily burden by debt This situation kept Foreign Portfolio Investors and FDI abay and makes the nation look unattractive. This is what gave rise to the reforms currently going on by Mr. President. It's quite a tough decision by Mr. President and a difficult peel to swallow by the poor masses but in all we can't see the nation going down like our sister countries like Zimbabwe, Venezuela and one-time like broke Greece. Only a political willed politician who is not afraid to see his ratings go down but to see the nation grow can carry out this reforms. What we need now and believe the President will be planning to implement is 1. Interventions like supply of fuel by NNPCL from the Nations fuel reserve to IPMAN at a lesser price to bring down or maintain the price around N500- 550. 2. Maintain forex interventions to stabilize the free market and preventing Naira fall not to go above N750-800. 3. Subsidize CNG engine installation to reduce transport cost and food cost. 4. Removal of tax from any machine needed for CNG machine installation. 5. Provide suitable environment for modular refinery and gas companies investment. 6. From the excess fund to be generated, loans at a single digit rate be provided for modular refinery, transport bus manufacturers and assembly plant and CNG investors. 7. A price regulatory and enforcement agency be instituted immediately. The above and so many other interventions if rapidly pursued like it's done by the paramedics working to safe lifes in the field are implemented, this will make our nation great again. Tinubu is on the right path and needs all our prayers and support no matter how we hate him. By Akatu Simon Adogwu |
