kopite: the presidency/president has all the right whatsoever to grant pardon to even the worst criminal. i thought these opposition members are enlightened enought to know this..... free GEJ joor.Have you not heard that whoever wields power should do so with a sense of responsibility?knowing fully well that whatever he or she does has everlasting effects on the morale of the subjects. Have you considered the fact that this action of the president will open a floodgate of state pardon for convicted felons maybe in the future.I assure you that that singular action of Jonathan is an example of HOW NOT TO EXERCISE POWER. But as the adage goes;a people get the government they deserve. So i wish you and all other supporters of this repulsive action goodluck. You are definitely showing good example to the future generation. |
They have gone for the after pardon party and award ceremony where national honours will be given to the following people Alams,Bode George,Anthony Anenih, James Ibori etc.Fresh air for all. |
I pity the Supporters and spoke persons of president Jonathan. He makes their job so difficult with the way he keeps on committing blunders upon blunders. My heart felt sympathy goes to Okupe and Abati . I believe that these two presidential spokesmen always wake up in the morning with palpitating heartbeats, due to the knowledge that each of their day comes with the responsibility of defending the senseless actions of a president who does not give a damn. I pray that these two live to see the 2015 election which must be taking its toll on their health and conscience. |
In as much one finds it inappropriate that amnesty should be extended to Bokoharam terrorists owing to their atricities,i feel those suggesting amnesty for them are doing so because there seems to be no end in sight to their insurgency. Innocent people are being killed everyday and the use of force seems not to be yielding the desired results.I think we should rather dwell on proffering other solutions if the grater majority of Nigerians are against amnesty for them.I am all for a solution that will prevent further loss of innocent lives of Nigerians. |
lillyveezy: where is ur Nigerian savvy ense?Original Nigerians never ever use any electronics witthout a good stabilizer, how much less a refridgerator.Guy park well go buy stabilizer.Meanwhile PHCN has greatly improved in my area of Lagos.People like you are part of the problem rather than the solution in this country. The same thing happened to my stabilizer in November 2012 but i decided that it was a sacrifice i could afford to make;with the hope that things are going to improve.Unfortunately, that isn't the case and if asking questions about a situation that affects our everyday living makes me a 'fake' and non savvy Nigerian, then i have no qualms with that. I congratulate you on the so called improvement of public power supply in your area as was testified by CNN on their open mic interview in Lagos but i also pity people like you who who believe that followership means foolishness. |
Can any nairalander confirm if PHCN has gone mad?I am asking this question because the erratic nature of public power supply has really gone out of hand within the commercial city and environs. The light comes and goes at intervals of ten to twelve minutes and i just got home to be told that one of my refridgerators has packed up because of the erratic power supply which has been a regular occurance for some weeeks now.I actually feel better now that the light has been gone for like twenty minutes. Is there light at the end of this dark tunnel called Nigeria? Finally, can those who are aware of happenings in the current administration give us the reason(s) why we are experiencing this PHCN madness. |
My tots exactly.Must someone be struck with sickness before they agree that the person needs moral support?I guess the ve not heard of psychological illness and moral support. |
Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is under fire from the country's clerics over a photo of him consoling the mother of Hugo Chavez at the late Venezuelan leader's funeral—physical contact that's considered a sin under Iran's strict Islamic codes. The photo, released by Venezuela's Miraflores Press Office, shows Elena Frías' right hand clutching Ahmadinejad's left, her head against his, as they stand near the flag-draped coffin of her son at a military academy in Caracas, Venezuela, on Friday. The image drew the immediate fury of Tehran's religious conservatives. “No unrelated women can be touched unless she is drowning at sea or needs medical treatment," Hojat al-Islam Hossein Ibrahimi, a cleric at the Society of Militant Clergy, said, according to Iran's Al-Monitor but some of Ahmadinejad's supporters insisted the image was fake, and that it was digitally altered from a different photo showing the Iranian leader embracing an older man. But as The New York Times noted, the man-hug image was quickly debunked as a Photoshop job. |
Does President Jonathan really know how miserable life is for the average Nigerian? The current heatwave being experienced in most parts of Nigeria coupled with the abysmal performance of the PHCN has become unbearable for the citizenry and i therefore will like the diehard supporters of the present administration to know that it will serve the interest of the ordinary citizens and the Jonathan administration if they start letting them know what Nigerians are passing through presently.Their resort to praise singing and outright falsehood all in a bid to promote the federal government is achieving the opposite.I am always incensed whenever i hear people touting the achievements of the present government is the area of power generation or the much hyped new transmission line that were installed some time ago;which covers the South East and some parts of the South South. This is because those of us in the South East are yet to see the benefits of those actions that were supposedly taken to improve make power supply. The government always succeed in raising the expectations of Nigerians only to disappoint them at last. We all have spent so much money on fueling our various power generating sets and i personally do not see any light at the end of this tunnel that is the Jonathan led PDP.I can never vote for any PDP administration again and i pity all those who still have faith in this government. Let us enjoy the darkness we rightly deserve for voting for PDP. |
Why use live bullets on unarmed civilians. What happened to rubber bullets?I pray those trigger happy soldiers encounter boko boys so that we can see how good they are as marksmen. |
Ever since the the much hyped completion of transmission lines that was renewed which resulted in about 48hours power outage in about five states in the south east, the power supply has gotten far worse that it was even before the Obasanjo era. ![]() I live and work in Onitsha and i can say without any fear of contradiction that the residents of the commercial city have never had it so bad with respect to the supply of public power. We hardly get up to five hours of five hours of public power supply in a day and i must confess that the cynics that were doubtful of the sustainance of the temporary improvement that was experienced by some Nigerians by the Jonathan government have been proved right or does any nairalander have any idea of the reason for the current abysmal state of public power supply in the commercial city of Onitsha and it's environs. Please let us know the level of power supply in your area because we have to make efforts to let those in authority know that the citizenry have the absolute right to demand for the services that will be commensurate with the bill which will definitely be brought to us by PHCN at the end of the month since they have decided not to issue pre-paid meters to us.The only things that is certain about PHCN is the fact that they will definitely come with their crazy bill at every moth end.It has been darkness galore for the the past one week and as i am posting this, there has been power outage since yesterday.Lets us share our views. |
