Again, much love to my Nigerian family. I have nothing against you. But I'm also not going to let you degrade or lie on my people either. |
flyingpig:I'm so embarrassed for you. Must you continue to show the failings of the Nigerian school system? And must you out yourself as a street urchin? Then again, most of you didn't even know about the TransAtlantic Slave Trade and that black Americans were brought over from Africa centuries ago, so I'll give you a pass. No significant inventions? You heard of traffic lights? ironing board? refrigerated trucks? automatic elevator doors? breathing devices? Since you're a beginner, we'll start slow. Begin with these 8: https://www.history.com/news/8-black-inventors-african-american These are scientists: https://interestingengineering.com/the-a-z-list-of-black-inventors A few more: https://www.biography.com/people/groups/black-inventors A few black politicians, dating back to the 1800's: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/unknown-black-politicians_n_6633140 We've been attending ivy leagues since the 1800's. I may post more on that later. I don't have time right now. I've gotta go. But here's a list of more current, popular black American celebrities you may like that you did not know went to ivy league schools: https://www.essence.com/celebrity/celebs-ivy-league-schools/ Notice these are all mainstream/white sources--not blogs. With the exception of the last source Essence magazine which targets a black American audience. |
flyingpig:There isn't a Nigerian on this forum who doesn't know that if we travel to anywhere in the world together I will receive much better treatment because of my blue passport than he will. In fact, he'll be held up in a custom's interrogation while I breeze through. Again, if Nigerians were doing so much better than us in America, why are they banned from becoming citizens? In one case 80 were arrested for fraud: https://abc7chicago.com/fbi-busts-nigerian-scammers-80-charged-in-massive-cyberfraud-conspiracy/5486947/ In a separate case, one of Nigeria's famed "entrepreneurs" was arrested for fraud: https://www.cfr.org/blog/us-arrests-celebrated-nigerian-entrepreneur-fraud A few months later 10 Nigerians arrested in a romance scam: https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/10-men-involved-nigerian-romance-scams-indicted-money-laundering-conspiracy More than 300 Nigerians arrested in the US and Nigeria on fraud https://www.voanews.com/usa/hundreds-arrested-nigeria-us-online-fraud-charges Look, I can keep going with this but I want to get to a few more posts before running off to get something done. But you get the point. And those are just large busts for fraud. I haven't even touched on the small potatoes. |
ModestGal:Sounds like you do a lot of stereotyping. There's no one black American "style of writing". Fraud or not, pay attention to the facts that were typed. Who cares about the messenger? I've had an account here for some time. I just don't post often. I'm sure there must be a way you can check out my post history. Oh yeah, I forgot to add that Oprah donated $10 million of her personal money to build homes for black people after the hurricane in Katrina destroyed black neighborhoods. |
khia:Love you, sis. |
flyingpig:You’ve seriously embarrassed yourself with this quote. Please google black American inventors. Also google black American scientists. I warn you, the list is long and will take you a while to sort through. We’ve been inventing since the 1800’s. During Black History Month Target sold notebooks with the names of black American inventors on the front. Just the last names though because every halfway educated American knows who they are. If I remember, I’ll come back and post a list for you later. I’m so embarrassed for you. Then again you’re African so I’ll cut you some slack for not knowing everything about my people and our achievements. There’s a reason we’re the most respected black group in the world. And it’s not because we were slaves but because we rose far beyond that to achieve great things when the odds were against us. One love to my African family but the misinformation and lies won’t be tolerated. |
ModestGal:Thank you. That is just one thing I love about being black American. When it comes down to it, we have each other’s backs. The educated, uneducated, rich, poor, famous and non-celebrities are speaking out, protesting and putting up money to support our fight against police brutality. We didn’t say that George Floyd isn’t educated or good enough to fight for. We see him as our brother. And we will fight for each other. Period. There isn’t a black billionaire or millionaire that hasn’t donated to the black community or built schools and businesses for our people. More than one has stepped up to pay off college debts and tuitions at black colleges. Diddy built a school in Harlem. Lebron James built a school. Every graduate is going off to college in the fall on full scholarships. Jay-Z has a scholarship. Colin Kapernick and others have donated to pay the legal fees of our brothers and sisters being arrested for protesting right now. Oprah put over 500 black boys through college from their first year till their last. Magic Johnson built businesses like Starbucks and a movie theater (to name a few) in black neighborhoods to give black people jobs. He just created a grant for black businesses that suffered during our Corona closings. Even Nicki Minaj paid off student loans for fans. Those are just a FEW examples. So those talking shit about black Americans and our useless athletes and entertainers, Bleep YOU. They do more for our people than your so called educated wealthy have ever done for you. |
flyingpig:Every group has “ills”-even white Americans. But I’m sure you think they’re perfect and that poor or uneducated white Americans don’t exist. Okay. That’s fine. Hold onto your delusion and selective critique of Americans. Bottom line: Black Americans are the most successful, educated, richest and RESPECTED black group in the world. |
flyingpig:Asians are the most successful immigrant group in the US. Egyptians are the most successful African immigrant group in the US. A Nigerian manipulated data by comparing Nigerians to SELECT GROUPS OF SUBSAHARAN IMMIGRANTS. Then Nigerians ran with it instead of fact-checking. If Nigerians were such a successful asset to America you wouldn’t be BANNED FROM APPLYING FOR CITIZENSHIP now. Trump didn’t ban ALL African countries-just a few. Nigeria was big on the list. Why? Because there are more of you here causing trouble and not being successful. The manipulation of our census data is just one example of the type of dishonesty the American government has come to expect from many of you. I love my African family but I won’t stand for the lies. |
flyingpig:You’re so misinformed it’s a shame. 80% of black Americans are middle class or higher socioeconomically. Compare that to how Nigerians are doing. Black AMERICAN women are the most educated group in America. There are MANY educated and professional Black American men and women. At the same time there are many Nigerians in America who are scamming, committing crimes and working in low wage jobs. I’m sure you saw the mews story when the FBI arrested over 100 Nigerian scammers at ONE time, yes? Don’t forget: Nigerians are only able to come to the US because we first BUILT this country, then gained our rights as black people, then PROTESTED for you to be able to bring your ungrateful asses over here. Our white government had you BANNED. Recordings of former President Ronald Reagan making fun of African leaders at a summit have been released. (I’m sure you can find it on YouTube.) He talked about Africans being barefoot and acting like monkeys. And Trump famously said your countries are shitholes THEN banned you from entering. Yet you still claim Whites are so superior? For the record: There are MANY accomplished and successful black Americans. We are doctors. Ben Carson was a celebrated brain surgeon who successfully performed the first surgery to separate twins joined at the head. We are astronauts. Look up Dr. Mar Jemison, a medical doctor who led a hospital in Africa before going into space. We are inventors. And we’ve been all of those things for HUNDREDS of years. We were in Ivy League schools as early as the 1800’s. If you were so much better than us, why haven’t you built up your country? 2020 and you’re still struggling with 24-hour electricity ? The majority are illiterate and unable to attend school because of school fees? The majority live off of less than $1 USD per week?Stop embarrassing yourself and my other Naija family. |
flyingpig:Everyone in America knows that black Americans built the country. Even Trump acknowledged that. But I guess you didn’t hear him when he said that, did you? No white American would ever claim they built the country. You sound ridiculous. |
They don’t have to pay out of pocket up front. Instead, they’re being asked to sign a promissory note to pay later. And the price is typically cheaper than market price. These are private citizens who traveled and found themselves stuck. They would be flying back on their own anyway, but because of sudden travel bans needed to leave immediately or could not get a commercial flight. The US went to get them. They’re not removing diplomats or military personnel they sent over and are bound by duty to remove. They’re just looking out for their average citizens. Nothing wrong with asking them to pay later. |
You guys sound racist and crazy. But you’re African so I understand your self-hate. This situation had nothing to do with blackness. This is an affair of the heart. Any race walking in on their partner in this situation would have a similar outcome. But keep thinking white and anything that’s not black is perfect. As crazy as that is given that there are many videos of ALL races carrying on this way in similar situations. |
So it seems she’s still facing deportation and fighting it. Why do I get the feeling she was a proud flag-waving Nigerian until this deportation situation happened? Everyone in the diaspora is sooo proud of 9ja-until it’s time to live there. |
KuwaiitiDinar:And the welfare train is coming to an end for immigrants. I’m sure you’ve heard about that new immigration law. Nigerians need to learn how to shut the Bleep up. America is good to you by even allowing you in-something we don’t have to do and are cutting down on. Then you come here and get arrested en masse for scamming, draining our welfare system. Just stop it already. Try living in your own country if it’s so great. |
wirinet:And we’re still better off than Nigeria. Why are Nigerians so disrespectful and rude? Then you wonder why you’re not welcomed in foreign countries. When have you ever heard of Americans going out of their way to try to disparage a host country? Then again it’s that inferiority Africans/Nigerians have. As Americans we don’t have to put other countries down in an effort to make ourselves look good. I saw of clip of the South African discussion the claim of xenophobia against Nigerians. He said that you’ve been liberated since the 60’s and should’ve been building your country since then. Instead you regressed then move into their country, look at the people who actually built their country and call them lazy. Then you wonder why they have a problem with you. On top of that, many go there as beggars and contribute nothing. That’s the same problem most countries have with you. Nigerians need to learn to shut your damn mouths and stop trying to denigrate the very countries you NEED in order to have a decent life. We’re gracious enough to let you in but all you do is complain and make these flawed, insane comparisons. If Africa was better you wouldn’t be running from the continent. Learn to be gracious for the opportunity to live in another country. At the very least don’t try to bash. Even better, fix your own country! |
Just build your countries and give birth there. Sheesh. |
BetWinners:I could just get Nigerian prick nearby. I don’t have to solicit it online. You seem so terribly angry and emotional that I believe you’re a woman posing as a man. There’s been nothing masculine or mature in your responses. Mad that I’m here to take your men? Why not channel your anger into improving the economy of your country so women won’t be forced to rely on men for money? Akata men led the march Civil Rights in America and improved life for their people over here. Maybe you can learn from that degenerate ignorant scum. ![]() |
WorWorBoy:I am because I’ve never heard of her but clearly you have. |
BetWinners:This notion of western men running to other parts of the world to look for women is absolutely ridiculous. Most Americans are married to other Americans--whatever their nationality. And most akata men--the vast majority--are married to akata women. So can you stop being so emotional and actually be rational. If you think western women are bigger leeches than Nigerian ones, then good for you. Are you in Nigeria? If so, you should have no trouble at all finding a mate. But it seems the majority of your male peers disagree with you. So you can argue that amongst yourselves while I enjoy my life from the comfort of America. ![]() Millions of Nigerian women working and doing well for themselves? In Nigeria ?!!!Whatever you do, don't lie. I know more about Nigeria its people and culture than you think. |
WorWorBoy:WHO is this woman? And what is this video supposed to mean? ![]() |
carter009:I’m not saying it’s right but the Nigerian culture kinda created a situation where women must look to a man for money. What options does she have to earn her own. In the west women can provide for themselves so they seek more than money from a partner. They’re more concerned with love, companionship and the things money can’t buy. A man is a partner-not a lifeline or your only way to eat or get what you want financially. |
Amakavula:This Nigerian mentality towards relationships is not the way we view relationships in the west. Theresfore he would likely be better off with a foreigner. But OP what are your chances of meeting a foreigner in Nigeria? |
Ugosample:Also, there are great differences between akatas and Nigerians. The black Americans doing well are not the outliers. We actually make up the majority of the race. (Again, that 80% is verifiable.) The only reasons SOME Nigerians try to show superiority is because of an inferiority complex. Your average educated black American who's living life is not running around trying to lord it over Nigerians. We don't have to. We feel completely comfortable in our skins. |
Ugosample:For me, this is not about appearing superior or looking down on anyone. It's about the fact that you're not going to shit on my people OR my country. There are ways to discuss the pros and cons of various countries without trying to shit on one. |
Celepope:More silly baseless stereotypes. Again, do RESEARCH instead of relying on the same old lies Nigerians tell to feel better about yourselves. With all of your BS about black Americans, we are better off than you've ever been or will ever be. And we got to be that way by staying in our country and fighting for our rights. Those are the same rights that allow you to come over and try to better yourselves and your poverty stricken families. Why not stay and develop your own country if you're so smart? That's because you're not. You're leeches. If you were so gifted and smart, your country wouldn't be a shithole. And we can talk about the Nigerian immigrants in the US and the LIE you keep repeating about being the most educated. According to the US CENSUS--not an article written by a Nigerian--here's the actual data on the educational status of immigrants in the US. EDUCATION ATTAINMENT IN US IMMIGRANTS (2016) COUNTRY POPULATION 25 YEARS AND OLDER % WITH BACHELOR’S DEGREE OR HIGHER India 2,130,989 77.8 Taiwan 346,326 72.3 Russia 316,995 65.5 Bulgaria 61,989 63.6 Egypt 152,626 63.2 France 149,854 61.2 Australia 75,335 60.0 Nigeria 262,603 59.5 Malaysia 59,662 59.3 Saudi Arabia 56,099 58.8 Here's additional information about US immigrants: https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2019/06/17/key-findings-about-u-s-immigrants/ Now where's the proof black American women are not the most educated group? Mental illness? You think doing rituals, relying on juju, kidnapping, cutting up human bodies and selling it in food and jungle justice are NORMAL ?Only a mentally ill person would think that if they don't see a lot of black people in their community college classes that means black people don't go to school. ![]() |
TheEminentLaity:It’s obvious you’ve never been outside of Nigeria or to America. That’s why you rely solely on google for your talking points. In your 10 million+ word missives you’ve never once discussed your personal observations of America/ns. It’s all recycled stereotypes from those who’ve never been here. Anyone who’s lived in America as an educated professional would be aware of the various socioeconomic classes in ALL races of people. It’s those that have never left the continent who believe all black Americans are in jail, poor and uneducated while all Whites are successful and rich. Black American women are the most educated group in the US. If you actually lived here you would’ve met plenty-especially in a city like NY. (And I’m still shocked that in your extensive googled research on the US you haven’t been able to find the information about the socioeconomic status of akatas from our US government website.) There’s no need for my activism. My ancestors took care of that. That’s why I don’t have to sit online making up lies in an attempt to mask my jealousy and embarrassment. I have a country I can be proud of. Don’t get me started on the crime and illiteracy in Nigeria. Sad that such poor people are expected to pay for school from the cradle to the grave and as a result millions of your elementary-aged kids are not even in school. And which is it? Do akatas not travel or did you run into us outside of our country shocked to see Africans doing well? That’s the thing about lies. They’re hard to keep straight. And if the institutions you worked for needed you so badly, they wouldn’t keep letting you go. Clearly you were replaceable (if I’m to believe you ever worked abroad). You’re angry that you must deal with visas, immigration, and trying to find a job ANYWHERE that will keep you from returning to an embarrassing and literal shithole while akatas can live comfortably in our American bubble and be perfectly content not going anywhere. Poor thing. |
MikoB:A better conversation for you to have is how to develop your country to the level of France or the US. You cannot imagine how very foolish you look to someone on the outside critiquing developed countries while yours is literally a shithole. Why are Nigerians so useless? If you're a man you should really be ashamed that you're not doing more to create a better country for your people. |
TheEminentLaity:OMG! I just noticed a few lines from this post that I missed in my original skim. They're laughable. Despite all you typed, America remains the best country on earth--the one of many you chose to live in. The shooter of a 7 year old girl sitting on her porch is someone who would be imprisoned in the US. That's what happens in a civilized country. In Africa/Nigeria a tire would be thrown around his neck and he'd be set on fire or receive some other type of jungle justice. That is BARBARIC and UNCIVILIZED (but oh so African/Nigerian). Worse, he could just pay a bribe and go on with his life. Or are you uneducated enough to suggest that civility is found in a country's ability to control the actions of its citizens--as if programming a robot--and that a country is uncivilized because some of its citizens made poor, criminal choices? No, an UNCIVILIZED society is one that accepts or turns a blind eye to inhumane behavior. I'm not even going to get into some of the widespread inhumane African practices that are considered acceptable. And yes I do flex my US muscles of civilization against Nigerians/Africans. People from developed countries have room to talk. Not surprisingly, they don't. You won't see them on websites typing entire novels about how bad the US is and undeserving of its reputation. Instead, they're too busy enjoying the same quality of life I do. And Africans and Nigerians ARE economic immigrants. You're not going to developed countries to contribute but to take advantage of the opportunities presented to you there. |
TheEminentLaity:Have you noticed how people from developed countries don't have pissing contests about which country is the best? That's because we don't have to. We FEEL GOOD ABOUT OURSELVES AND WHERE WE'RE FROM. ;DThe same clearly cannot be said for Nigerians like you. It makes you angry that (black) Americans are doing so well, simply because by cosmic lottery we were born in the greatest country on earth-while you struggle to find a developed country to take you in. Then add to that the poor reputation and treatment Nigerians receive around the world and I can understand why you're so angry. I don't have to live in another country because mine is the best. I've visited many, many countries before and enjoyed them all. And I've met people from developed countries during my travel. And not once did we try to put each other's countries down or prove how ours was so much better than the other. The irony is that it's only people from the most barbaric, undeveloped countries that do that. Maybe if you stay in your country long enough to develop it, you'll feel so good about your own country you won't have to try to disparage someone else's. And where did I say that if I don't see something it doesn't exist? ![]() I know that ghettos and poor places exist in America. WE ALL DO. And most of us avoid them. Because it's easy to do. In Nigeria YOU CANNOT AVOID THE POVERTY, but you can live an entire lifetime in America and never see ghettos or homeless people. And you don't have to stay on your front porch either. In Nigeria you can't even drive on major streets without sellers approaching you. The poverty is EVERYWHERE and IN YOUR FACE. Danger is always a real and present threat to you. You're a liar to say otherwise. To your other points: --$1,000 emergency? But we all still have a better quality of life and live better than you. --There are many, many poor people living in NYC. You think that street hawker is rich? Those who want to live in NY do. Most don't want to. Your NYC argument makes no sense. I think you're applying your Nigerian world view to America--which tells me you've never left the country. --Check US government sites and records to find out how black Americans are doing socioeconomically in the US. Much better than the people in your country. That's for sure. Jealousy oozes from every sentence you typed. |
pansophist:Nigerians send money home (that they're getting from OTHER COUNTRIES=SUCKING FROM THAT DEVELOPED COUNTRY'S TEAT) so their families can flex and pretend to be something they're not. That's not assisting in Nigeria's development. It's the same selfish, self-centered "I'm only looking out for me and mine" mentality that keeps the country from progressing. Nigerian's have been doing that for decades but still the country doesn't even have 24-hour electricity much less any type of real development. I'm just so glad my parents' generation didn't flee the country and send money back home thinking it would advance the life of black people. Instead, they understood the real work had to be done ON GROUND. ALL countries have their downsides. Sitting around trying to talk down on a country-when yours is so bad you can't provide for your own family without sucking from another country's teat--is ridiculous at best. It must be some type of mental illness. And sure there are Chinese and foreigners in Nigeria. But they didn't have to scam and take part in green card marriages to get there. Furthermore, they don't have to live there in order to be able to send money home to provide for their families. Foreigners are there to GIVE and IMPROVE. I'm not even going to get into the Chinese takeover that's happening. And I do not have to be civil to anyone disrespecting MY COUNTRY. You didn't like hearing Trump call yours a shithole so don't think you can disparage anyone else's. You need to be in Nigeria trying to build yours up to US standards. |
Saintp:EXACTLY. |
