Well like said or preached.. Assurance deposit will not solve all the problems.. It will reduced it, once the driver is owning you stop him from driving the car or take the car away asap ..and activate the deposit clause.. The rest of the money he owns you, u can try and battle it with his guarantor... my case for am example, a driver was owning me 10k for one week, and he said he will balance the following week ...you know what he did ,the following week came and he drop the car for



a minor repair.. And he switch is phone off and he never pay the week rent of 30k.. If I
















collected the car from him when he owned me 10k and activated the deposit clause my case wil be different.. Now I have to chase him for 40k now, which I might not get... so I might end up taking an "L" for dis one .. Like I said half bread is better than none..

One thing you have to keep in mind.. By the time every partner is collecting deposit, the driver will eventually get tired of jumping from one partner to another.. Because he is aware that he will have to drop another deposit that might higher than previous deposit.. The trick here is to form a collective efford in which a deposit is a must for all car owners .. Now in Yankee before uber took over the cab business.. A cab driver will have to pay one weeks rent before he even takes the cab.. To rent a car in the states now ,u still have to put down a deposit, the car rental will need to hold your credit card on hold of a certain amount ..once you return the rental they take off the hold on ur card.. Assuming that you return the car in good order.. Now this is a standard practice within the rental industry.. So it will hard for people to mess up.. Same for the hotel industry... so if the partners on uber can collectively have the same standard, it will reduce not eliminate payment issues .. Similar to the banking industry ,if you own one bank money , it will be hard for you to open another bank account .. It will show in their system that u are owning xyz bank money.. These industries work collectively together to protect themselves.. But for naija only time will tell and that is why you don't see generation wealth been pass on.. There is no discipline

This is a general announcement to all potential investors in the uber/ taxify forum.. I hope you people are reading the lessons these forum has to offer.. I hope that you are paying attention to others people mistake .. A friend of mine just buzz me up just now.. A total of two of his drivers are now owning him close 50k.. Collect your assurance deposit.. If a uber driver does not want to put down is assurance deposit, please let him go o,dont let any drivers use you and dump you.. Read and read, if u can't get assurance deposit, it is better for the car to sit till you find a good driver. Also before you give your car to any fleet coy or management team.. Do your research very well , if you don't know what to do .. Ask people on the forum, we have a few reputable fleet coy... don't fall victim to any uber drivers ..learn from others
