N3cR0mAZc3R: I actually just prefer handhelds bro. I can’t sit and play games on TV for more than 10 minutes before I get tired of it but with handheld I can sit comfortably in bed and game all day long.
I hear this from everyone I know with a handheld. Looks like its convenience over graphics.
N3cR0mAZc3R: Yeah I have the decky frame gen installed too but like you said it’s inferior to lossless scaling. Lossless scaling is like double the frame for me when playing latest AAA games.
Nice one, bro!
It's also surprising that you own a TV console and still choose to invest in handhelds.
N3cR0mAZc3R: Yes I did and I used it a lot than windows too. I am currently using windows for Spider-Man 2 though due to lossless scaling app.
It’s the best of both worlds.
Oh, that's great! I actually miss lossless scaling, but there's framegen(dlss to fsr3 mod) on Steam OS now via decky. Tried it on a couple of games and it works.
Tho lossless scaling is unmatched. I wish they could find a way to bring it to Steam OS.
N3cR0mAZc3R: How many fps do you get bro and at what settings. In origins I can get up to 56fps @1600x900p with a mix of high and medium settings on the rog ally.
For Valhalla, it's around 50- 58fps on 1600x1000p with a mix of medium, high too and then I use fsr to upscale to like 1200p or 1600p. On native 1200p, I get 42 - 46 fps.
Haven't tried Origns, but I guess it shoud perform the same since they're both Z1 Extreme. How you enjoying the Rog?
N3cR0mAZc3R: God of war 2 on the deck. The nostalgia ehn. I remembered when me and my friends go dey use money go play am for my secondary school that time.
I see you've installed all the decky mods for the extra stuff. Looks good. I wish windows could design a gaming OS just like Steam OS. Or Steam OS could get rid of it's anticheat problem.
My deck is mostly used to play Stardew Valley or Switch games right now.
I have dual booted both windows and steam os on my ally and I couldn't be more happier but I'll never sell my baby (Deck).
How can I get the lossless thing from steam?
Seen it talked about on rog ally sub-reddit b4 but I just didn't pay any mind to it cause am satisfied with my ally performance already.
I was almost dual booting Windows and steam OS on the Go, but I changed my mind when I got the lossless scaling app cus it doesn't work on Steam OS for now.
So the app works by generating extra frames for your games through AI, making it smoother. It's like AMD Fluid Motion Frames, which was recently added to the Ally's AMD app, but this is better as it works on any game, even emulators.
Search it on steam. It's a paid app, but it's worth it.
For the deck, I can never sell mine as well, lol. I so much love the device and I'm using it for emulation and indie games. It has better battery life and better ergonomics than the Go. And the sleep/resume feature is amazing.
Buh why would u wanna pirate games? Especially given that you can get pc games for very cheap or even have someone share them with you.
But nonetheless, the Rog ally or lenovo legion go will be your best bet because they're windows unlike steam deck which runs on linux and it's easier to pirate pc games on windows, same with modding.
But left to me I'll say get the rog ally because the VRR (Variable refresh rate) alone is why chosed it over the legion go and o'boy is it so worth it. I can run games like gta v and red dead 2 at a smooth 50-60fps.
Get the lossless scaling app from steam for your Ally. It's been a game changer for me. It doubles your framerate. I'm playing cyberpunk on 1080p 70-80 fps on the Legion Go.
N3cR0mAZc3R: Wow Bruh. You can never get bored with those consoles.
I Finally put bazzite on mine anyways. Been way smoother than windows and i can even put games like red dead redemption 2 or gta v to sleep mode and I can decided to continue playing them a week after.
Hey i am also an handheld freak too lol.
Started from psp to os vita to switches and then steam deck ro asus rog ally. I never liked home consoles.
That looks pretty good on your Ally.
As soon as my game pass subscription ends, I'll try Bazzite OS. There's something about Steam OS that I miss on window. Menh that resume feature is next level. Being able to resume games after hrs or days is what I miss while on windows.
Yeah, me too. I sold my PS4 when I got the Steam Deck. I always like to play from my bed. I'm sure you'll enjoy the Allly. Cheers!
