Comic star, Zicsaloma, born Isaac Aloma, has reacted to criticism trailing his recent rhinoplasty in Turkey.

Since undergoing nose surgery, critics have been expressing disapproval, accusing him of having low self-esteem.

On January 25, he shared a video on Instagram chronicling his journey to rhinoplasty. Zicsaloma urged members of the public to wait for updates on “the healing process,” adding that he was “perfectly fine.”

On Sunday, the comedian posted a video on YouTube showing the results of the nose job after 10 days.

In the video, Zicsaloma documented the removal of the nasal packing which was used to control bleeding after the procedure.

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed the belief that Nigerian politicians are bitter rivals, saying their perceived fights are exaggerated and largely staged to entertain the public.

Speaking at his 60th birthday thanksgiving service at St. Martins’ Catholic Church in Isan Ekiti on Sunday, Fayemi described political disagreements as mere theatrics, particularly on social media.

“So, all these things you read on social media are for your entertainment,” he said.

“Many will wonder why Governor Segun Oni is here. During his birthday, I spent the entire day with him, and Governor Ayodele Fayose too would have been here without hesitation if he was around.”

Fayemi stressed that, despite political differences, Ekiti politicians are not enemies but remain committed to the state’s progress.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced an expansion of the Red Line train service to improve rail transportation along the Agbado-Oyingbo corridor.




In a statement on its X handle, LAMATA confirmed that the enhanced schedule will commence on Monday, February 10, 2025, featuring more frequent trips during peak hours.

“The Red Line train service will increase its capacity, providing full service during the AM peak hours, effective Monday, February 10, 2025,” the statement reads.

Under the new schedule, the Red Line will operate five morning trips and four evening trips daily, making a total of nine trips per day—an upgrade from the previous two morning trips from Agbado to Oyingbo.

“The Red Line will now operate five morning trips and four evening trips daily, totaling nine trips per day. Previously, two morning trips were available from Agbado to Oyingbo,” LAMATA confirmed.

This expansion aims to offer commuters more travel options and a smoother experience with reduced delays.

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a suspected cultist for unlawful possession of firearms and attempted m8rder.

Spokesperson of the command, CSP Moses Joel Iyamu, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, February 9, 2025, said the suspect, Kelly Osayawe shot a store owner, Nzube Cletus Mbum during a funeral procession around the Aduwawa area of Benin city.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has vowed to prosecute corrupt public officers who enrich themselves.

The EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, made this declaration at the opening ceremony of a three-day workshop on Anti-corruption, Fiscal Responsibility, Transparency and Good Governance organised by the EFCC and the House Committee on Financial Crimes for state and local government officials at the EFCC Academy in Karu, Abuja.

“The EFCC under my leadership will have no sympathy for public officers who breach the rules to enrich themselves or their cronies,” said Olukoyede.

According to him, 70 per cent of the problem in the Nigerian public sector stems from poor fiscal transparency.

Olukoyede also lamented the diversion and looting of public funds meant for the country’s stressing infrastructural, social and economic needs by public officers, leaving Nigerians to beat the brunt of underfunded sectors and poor infrastructure.

Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, has sought for the withdrawal from the suit filed against the chairmen of the 18 local government councils.




In a letter addressed to Counsel to the Applicants, C. O. Esosa Esq. by counsel to the speaker, R. O. Isenalumhe & Co., Barristers, Solicitor’s and Notary Public, the speaker said he did not instruct anyone to initiate legal action in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly.

“We are solicitors to the speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, who is hereinafter referred to as Our Client. We have our Client’s definite instructions to write as hereinafter appearing:

“That Our Client read on social media with rude shock of the pendency of the above action commenced in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly as 1st Claimant and the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly as 2 Clamant.

“That the Speaker did not instruct anybody to commence the shove action in the name of the Edo State House of Assembly and his name. Consequently, it is Out Client’s instruction to direct you and we hereby direct you to immediately withdraw the name of the Edo State House of Assembly and the name of the Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly from the aforesaid suit.

“Our Client, in addition to the aforesaid, demands a written apology for the embarrassment caused to him and the Edo State House of Assembly.”

Mr Stephen Okolo, a Department of State Service (DSS) official, has said that the deployment of technology aided the arrest of three security personnel facing charges of kidnapping and banditry in Oyo State.




Okolo said this in his testimony before Justice N.E. Maha of the Federal High Court in Ibadan, on Monday.

He was giving evidence as first prosecution witness (PW1) in the trial against the three officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and one other.

The three NSCDC’s officers are, Olamide Okesola, Adedeji Adewale and Asmau Omar while the fourth defendant, Emmanuel Olatunji, is an unlicensed arms dealer.

“My lord, following the increase in the cases of kidnapping and banditry in Okeogun area of Oyo State and parts of Kwara, the DSS fashioned out how to address the issue by deploying our technical expertise, that is equipment.

“With sustained surveillance, we were able to detect, trace, and arrest the criminals involved.

“My lord, two kingpins; one Baguda and the other Banshile, who were the most dangerous terrorists operating in that axis were identified in the process.

“The operation which led to the arrest of one Lawan Buhari, and one of the NSCDC’s officials believed to be supplying ammunitions to the terrorists commenced in January 2023.

“Further operation led to the arrest of the other three defendants; Okesola, Olatunji and Adewale,” Okolo told the court.

The PW1 tendered before the court, a bag containing 1000 rounds of live ammunition as an exhibit collected from Buhari,.

The office of the Inspector-General of Police has sued some Nigerian businessmen for allegedly defrauding a foreigner of N13.5 billion.

The IGP’s suit is pending with the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Rafik Akar, a foreigner, was defrauded by Victor Arinze, Yahaya Karimi, and three other persons in Abuja during a Bureau De Change business.

The IGP’s lawyer Simon Lough, SAN, accused the defendants of conspiring to make Rafik part with $38, 260,000 paid into the bank account of Pearson Nigeria Limited, Lasucess Limited, and Rainforest Ballroom.

The defendants were also accused of: “Acting in concert and with intent to conceal or disguise the origin of the said N13,505,780,000.00, you fraudulently obtained from Alhaji Rafik Akar on the pretence that you have $38,260,000 dollars to sell to him at the rate of N353.00 per $1. By the police.”

The police alleged that the defendants used the funds to purchase some properties in Lagos, Abuja, and Delta states.

The wife of the Inspector-General of Police, Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his empowerment initiatives targeted at police officers, their wives, and widows in Kano State.




Egbetokun, who also serves as President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Government House, accompanied by wives of senior police officers.

She praised Governor Yusuf’s dedication to supporting widows of police officers, describing it as a demonstration of the administration’s ingenuity in advancing human development.

Egbetokun emphasised POWA’s readiness to collaborate with the Kano State Government on vocational training and sustainable empowerment programmes for officers’ wives. She highlighted the association’s mandate, which focuses on fostering self-reliance among its members.

“I am in Kano with the POWA management team to inaugurate an empowerment centre for police officers’ widows. As part of our mandate, POWA promotes peace and progress across the federation.

“We are committed to empowering police wives to ensure peace and self-reliance. It is our mission to create a conducive environment that allows police officers to perform their duties effectively. We look forward to partnering with the Kano State Government to engage women in Kano and build a safer, more harmonious community,” Egbetokun stated.

The POWA President also requested a plot of land from the Kano State Government for the construction of the association’s headquarters in the state.
In his response, Yusuf acknowledged the relative peace in Kano, attributing it to the dedication of the police and other security agencies in safeguarding lives and property.

The Governor noted that Egbetokun’s visit underscored POWA’s tireless commitment to improving the welfare of police officers’ wives and widows nationwide.

Yusuf pledged full support for POWA’s humanitarian mission and projects, announcing the donation of plots of land and financial assistance for the construction of POWA’s state headquarters.
