Hi, is the standard processing for IW now “Refused” status right after “Application Received”?. My mum’s status was updated to “Refused” on the 14th. The status message further read that the refusal status might be for administrative processing, which means the case could later be adjudicated after the administrative processing is completed (I guess that’s what happened with @Dixoxoxo’s case who was later approved without being interviewed).

Of the cases you know of that were updated on the 14th, do you know anyone whose IW status was updated to “approved” or “issued”?. Thanks!

I don't think it is the standard processing with IW, no case is the same, every case is unique. Maybe we should say it is now becoming common. Have two people who were approved on the 14th while two others had their case updated on the same day but still showing application received.

Please kindly confirm there were some cases that were updated on the 14th of May 2025. Kindly check your page to see when your case was updated last

@preshy 2004 Yes it is, always just answer the question asked without giving explanation for what was not asked so that it does not look like you want the visa at all cost. also you were asked if you were travelling with your husband? Does he already have a visa ? if yes hope he also has a clean record cos once they pull up his name and see a red flag that can also affect your chance. If No, I believe you should have appeared for the interview together. Again the information filled in the DS 160 form also goes a long way, a lot of time people go for interview with research of how to answer question they read online. No two answers are the same cos the sample answer are usually based on what was filled in the form.

The timeline for processing the visa application is up to 8 weeks. During this process, you will not be able to withdraw your passport from the Embassy/Consulate if you you submitted your passport for IW and you are yet to get feedback you should only be worried after your 8th week

You were asked which country have you visited? you were not asked to explain which country last visited so hope you understand why she Squeezed her mouth now. The visa officer was with your passport and can see the UK visa stamp of entry and your exit. So your explanation would have been necessary if your passport was not stamped into UK.

@ Dixoxoxo. Did yoh track and did not get a message saying application received. Or was he saying to you that there was no data available for your status? It’s important that you also submitted in Lagos yesterday and tracking today. It says application received already. I know someone submitted on Friday and yesterday he had said application received already.

Good morning, My US visa expired in October and I filled DS160 form for renewal. Answered all questions for IW but did not get a mail and was not able to pick the first date of March 7 2025 I saw it kept showing an error later showing no appointments available for Lagos. I saw January 2026 yesterday and went ahead to pick but came back as a regular interview. Please has the IW been stopped? I will need any help I can get from this community if we have others here with the same issues or if someone has had the same before.
