FINALLY . congrats to them!!

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) last Friday held matriculation ceremony for students admitted in the 2015/2016 session.

It was learnt that a total of 7,500 students took the matriculation oath out of the 19,147 students that participated in the the 2015 post Utme.

The Chairman committee of Deans, Professor Adeagbo Amusan urged the students to abide by all rules and conducts of the institution.

He further advised them to always remember that the major aim of coming to the university is to enable them create a desired future for themselves and their families and as such, they should ensure that every minute of their time in the institution is allocated and spent wisely.

The vice chancellor of University Of Ibadan (UI), Prof Idowu Olayinka while speaking on the topic "The challenges of building a world class university" during the 68th Interdisciplinary Research Discourse of the Postgraduate school made it known that the university will admit only 3,000 students out of up to 29,000 candidates that chose the school and scored up to 200 in the 2016 JAMB examination.


He lamented that poor funding, infrastructure deficit, student-lecturer ratio and limitation of Hostel accommodation would not allow the University go beyond its present carrying capacity.

He called on the Nigerian Government to adequately fund universities and fix the infrastructural deficits if it wants her universities to be globally competitive.

The PharmD (Doctor of pharmacy) curriculum has more clinical content and requires six university years unlike the B.Pharm curriculum that requires five university years. PharmD students spend more time doing clinical posting at the hospitals, and so is most beneficial for pharmacists that will end up working in hospitals or in community pharmacies. Some countries, like UK, offer MPharm programme. Regardless of each country's specific designation, all of the graduates are pharmacists and have very similar course structure.
PharmD has been approved by the NUC in Nigeria but at the moment, most Nigerian universities will continue running the BPharm programme for the next foreseeable future.

Unn released the result for her 2016/2017 admission screening exercise yesterday and here i am going to show you how to check your own result ( That's if you haven't done that yet).

How to check unn screening admission score/result:

visit http://www.unnportal.unn.edu.ng/ScrenningApplication.aspx

Enter your JAMB registration Number in the space provided.

Click on "Submit" to access your result.

Login into the portal, click on prospective students and login with your Jamb registration number to view and print your result.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HND PROGRAMMES

Applicant for HND admission must possess a
minimum of 2.50 cumulative Grade Point Average
(CGPA) in their respective ND programmes. Those
who made less than 2.50 CGPA can only be
considered for admission if they verifiably spend
a minimum of two years on industrial
attachment.

Method Of Application:

(i)Interested candidates are to purchase an
electronic PIN at the cost of two thousand, five
hundred Naira only (N2500) from any of the
banks listed below.

1. Zenith Bank Plc – Trans Ekulu, Enugu
2. Fidelity Bank – Ogui Road, Enugu
3. First Bank of Nigeria Plc – Okpara Ave., Enugu
4. FCMB – Garden Ave., Enugu
(ii) Using the PIN and your JAMB Registration
Number, complete the online Screening
Registration Form

(iii) Enter your O’level results properly
(iv) Upload copies of all your qualifications
(v) Confirm your entries
(vi) SUBMIT your application
(vii) Print an acknowledgement slip for future use
(viii) Wait for response from IMT Enugu
