Knew someone that was answered and he applied on one of those days
Maybe he emailed them, I don’t know
Are you sure that the person was applying for a study visa? And please can you find out from him the exact day he submitted, and whether her mailed them to speed up the process. Thanks

They reached out to me without any prior communication. Per VFS tracker, my file got to them 2nd of Sept, even though i submitted my biometrics Aug 8th.
Wow, VFS really did you dirty there; they did a lot of people dirty. I’m lucky—I did biometrics on the 26th of August in Lagos, and it arrived at the embassy on the 2nd of September. Did you do biometrics in Lagos too?

Hello, please how were you able to reach out to them first? I omitted a document (Summary of Finances) the day I had my appointment, but couldn't find a means to submit it afterwards.
Email them at: AbujaVisaOffice@dfa.ie

They sent me an email 2 weeks ago to confirm my own date of resumption. Did they reach out to you?
Nah, but I think it’s because I reached out to them first and sent my new offer for January.

Did you email them before they contacted you? And when did your application actually reach the embassy (not just when you submitted it)?

I paid N27,900 as at May this year for the Duolingo test
Did the embassy contact you regarding deferring your start date to January, or have they sent you any email at all? My application also arrived at the embassy on September 2nd

Did u add IRL infront of your reference number?
That's mostly one of the problems, u need to add it before the 8-digit number

Good day House,

I got this email days ago from the Ireland embassy. Although, i have responded with option 1.

However, i want to confirm the following:

1. Did anyone else get similar email from them?
2. Is this a sign that my visa has been approve and they just want to be sure of my resumption date before the final decision?

Note: I submitted my visa application and biometrics in August 2024, with my admission/academic start date to be January 2025.

Thanks.
Can we connect on WhatsApp?

Got the msg through the above link. Yes, I submitted on the 31st of July. I can't clarify because I used Abuja embassy. Thanks
You know the people who call to tell you your passport is ready? Or the email that notifies you it’s ready? I’m asking if you heard from them first or if you saw your name on the list first?

Also, have you received the refusal letter yet?

Good Afternoon house, my student visa application was not successful (refused). Please, what are the steps to take concerning an appeal and what is the feedback time frame. Should I seek for tuition refund and apply to UK for January or should I appeal? Please, I need your kind advice.... It's quiet devastating after the whole stress and finance. I'm still waiting for my passport and embassy letter.thanks
Could you please share how you learned that the decision had been made? Did you receive a message or call from the courier service, or did you notice your name on yesterday’s list? Additionally, while I understand that you submitted your application on the 31st of July, could you clarify when it actually arrived at the embassy? Thanks.

Good afternoon, brother. I'm really sorry to hear about your visa refusal. Here’s some advice on your next steps:

1. Review the Refusal Letter:
Wait for the embassy letter, which will explain the reasons for the refusal. Understanding the specific grounds will help you decide whether an appeal is possible or if it’s better to apply elsewhere. Please share the refusal letter with the forum so we can assist you further.

2. Appeal Process:
- You can appeal the decision if you believe it was unfair or if you can address the reasons for refusal. The appeal should focus on the grounds mentioned in the refusal letter.
- The typical timeframe to lodge an appeal is within 2 months of receiving the refusal, but check the exact period in your letter.
- Processing times for appeals can vary, but it may take anywhere from 6-12 weeks.

3. Tuition and Accommodation Refund:
If you decide not to appeal and plan to apply to the UK instead, you could seek a refund for both tuition and accommodation. Most schools have refund policies, especially in cases of visa refusal, so check with your institution on how to proceed. For off-campus accommodation, it’s important to review the landlord’s refund policy or lease agreement to see if you’re entitled to a refund, as policies may vary.

4. UK Application:
Applying to the UK for January might be a good backup. Research schools with a January intake and check the application deadlines. Keep in mind that UK visa requirements are different, and you'd need to go through that process as well.

If the refusal was based on a minor issue that can easily be resolved, an appeal may be worth pursuing. However, if the reason seems difficult to overcome, it might be more practical to explore other options, like applying to the UK.

It’s understandably a tough situation, but you still have paths forward!

Exactly my situation, I've even been advised by my school to defer till January 2025 intake. I'm not sure if I'll be able to use the same visa if i defer to the January 2025 intake.
I don’t think you will need to apply for a visa again if it gets approved

Good morning everyone, please I submitted my application on the 31st of July.... It's 8 weeks now, the school I applied to resumed on the 12th of September. I just don't know my fate right now. Please, I need advice on how to go about it.
Good morning, brother. Have you been in contact with the embassy since you submitted your application?

Good morning, everyone. If anyone receives an update from the embassy regarding their application, please don’t hesitate to update us here, as any information would be helpful. Cheers!
