The voting pattern of Igbos actually proves that Igbos will vote massively for Tinubu if he was really competent.

Some people say Igbos are supporting Peter Obi because he is Igbo. But when you check the voting pattern of Igbos in the attached image you will see that it doesn't follow tribal affiliation. The voting pattern shows that Igbos always to try to vote for the best candidate among the available options irrespective of tribe.

In the 2003 election, Ojukwu was on the ballot but Igbos still gave Obasanjo 65% of their votes while Ojukwu only got 28%.

In the 2007 election, Ojukwu was on the ballot again together with Orji Uzor Kalu, Igbos still gave Yar'Adua 90% of their votes and rejected Ojukwu and Orji Uzor Kalu.

In the 2011 election, Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari were the major candidates and Igbos gave Jonathan 93% of their votes because they believed Jonathan was the better candidate. Their belief that Jonathan was the better candidate has been proven since we all saw how things started getting worse after Buhari took over from Jonathan.

In 2023 Peter Obi is getting the massive votes from the south east simply because Igbos believe he is the best among the available options and not because he is Igbo. If Igbos have rejected Ojukwu and Orji Uzor Kalu in the past elections then Peter Obi would have faced the same rejection if he wasn't a better option. This doesn't mean Peter Obi is flawless. It simply means the other options are not better. If you replace Tinubu with Osinbajo then it becomes a different story. Osinbajo will make Peter Obi sweat for South east votes.

Considering the voting pattern of Igbos it is safe to say Tinubu is being rejected in the south east simply because he is not the best option and not because he is Yoruba.
