Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 7:05pm On Jan 26
Okay thanks. It looks like the timing or at least a communication from them doesn't matter.
babacha:
I made a call to a chevron staff, I dont want to mention his name. He told me with full confidence that we will get feedback from them. That they are still on the process. But when are we to get the feedback I dont know and I did not ask him. But he assured me that we will hear from them
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m):
Happy new week Guys!!!
Trust well
Just checking, please is there anyone with an update and accurate representation/status of what's going on?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 9:31pm On Jan 06
Thanks for this. Companies are always logical and not emotional when making decisions (including firing decisions/layoffs). Even the justification for the delay doesn't sound credible... reorganization and restructuring are well planned ahead and a company should have sized their workforce strength before putting out jobs for people to apply. it corroborates with my earlier message that some of these can only occur in the Nigerian system. These companies have operations in other countries and max recruitment is concluded within 3-4months. Now for TEPNG, this is a case of individuals with actual offer letters o,,, and they made them resign from their current place of workhuh? may God help us. At the very least, there should be a communication with candidates rather than ghosting them completely.

olowoba2:
Never take emotional decisions when it comes to your livelihood. The same company you think you are "helping" won't do the same if the tables were turned. An example is the way Chevron seemed to have treated the applicants.
Here is the blunt truth: no company prioritizes communication with people who are not employees or direct stakeholders. In the hierarchy of communication within large organizations, individuals seeking employment or vendors seeking business opportunities are usually the lowest priority. In many cases, companies only share information that has been reviewed and deemed non-sensitive. Often, only insiders who have access to the true state of affairs would give you real reasons why the recruitment was paused or delayed. Most companies would just not provide any formal information. It's painful but it is what it is.
I have two friends who quit their well-paying jobs in April 2025 in order to join TotalEnergies after they completed background check / medicals AND received offer letters, only for Total to notify them that their resumption is on hold pending the completion of a structural re-organization. This is January 2026, and they are yet to resume. No further communication provided. This is a case of individuals who had offers at hand, let alone your case where you have only been notified of background checks.
Historically, most IOCs have had cases of prolonged recruitment, in which a few were eventually paused permanently or extensively delayed by many years. Even NNPC experienced such I think in 2015 when they didn't complete a recruitment program.
Never, ever quit your job for an inconclusive process.
However, I wish you the very best, and hope you eventually resume with Chevron!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 2:29pm On Jan 06
Interesting.
Q1'26 is before us. I think the FACT remains that no one knows what's truly happening. Now for context, 2025 delays were attributed to reorganization but that's been closed out since Sept last year. So why the delay again? Everyone saying it's time to play wait game...how long will you play that wait game?... It's just because of the Nigerian system/economy and not too many jobs can offer same welfare packages like Chevvy (kiss the truth). But at same time, ask yourself, can Chevvy conduct a recruitment that spans 2 calender years(2024-2026) in developed markets like Europe with well developed labour and employment laws?

athorello:
It hasn't ended, and things have stabilized. Some people who have undergone this process with us have resumed contracted positions. We will congratulate the main guys who have done BC and medicals in Q1 '26, that's if they don't get it as Xmas gift. Cheers!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 5:27pm On Dec 07, 2025
December is typically a month with little to nothing happening and so I'd be surprised if any feedback is provided. Well, like someone said, Q1'26 should be a tentative timeline to hear back from Chevvy
Ujele:
I did. It's two over 2 weeks since I sent them a mail to request a feedback. There has been no response.

Happy new month People!!!

To everyone waiting, as your remain positive and expecting a feedback, I pray that your hope and expectation will not be cut short. Amen!!!

Your source?

ValeignNurt:
I agree with you that people get jobs without connection. Even the people that got at Chevron might have gotten without connection, but they are not interested in any more intakes at this point.
It is just a pity they didn't communicate to people they rose their hopes by allowing them do medicals.
Shame on them for this level of disrespect.

I read somewhere here about a guy that quit his job and rented an apartment in Lagos.
Take heart brother. I sympathize with you, but it is the game, they don't want you anymore. Sad, but accept the truth and move on.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 5:26pm On Oct 29, 2025
Oh really? Is there any update from your friend after the medicals as regards resumption?

inibro:
I don’t know if this information is valid for all roles but my friend who applied for the Senior Facilities Engineer position has done interview, medicals and background check
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m):
Indeed, apparently you ain't the only one in this situation. Came across a post on twitter where a candidate was asking people to help beg Chevy to conclude the recruitment of more than a year. I think he's one of the earliest to do medicals. All same, this wasn't expected from an IOC like Chevron and like you rightly mentioned, recruitment process can be a red flag about a company's culture. ExxonMobil started a recruitment in July and concluded by Sept. Peeps resumed in Oct-this month. A company's culture>>>>

seriousbaby:
Wow, I am famous here now 🎉.
I really appreciate you guys fam.

Honestly, all the responses here made me feel heard, and like I am not alone.
I appreciate guys!

Yeah, for the ones that pointed out I took a big risk getting an apartment, honestly you are right. That was an impulsive decision I didn't think through at the time.

I also appreciate the advice on not waiting on Chevy forever. I just need to put myself together and start job hunting with real zeal again. Kind of sad, but reality is reality.

I hope this works out by the way. I would keep you guys posted if/when Chevron decides to respond.

Thanks guys ✌️
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 9:32pm On Oct 14, 2025
So sorry to hear, I think no one knows what's truly happening. Best guess is the impact of the reorganization and I don't want to believe so because they should have sized their staff strength before putting out jobs for people to apply. I think someone mentioned some people have done medicals. Have you done medicals for your role?
Though, you took a big risk to resign from your current role. All same, this delay doesn't put Chevron in good light publicly.
seriousbaby:
Like I am so frustrated, I can't even whyne you guys. I used some of the last cash I had to rent an apartment in Lagos after I got the background check mail about 4 months ago. House is wasting, can't seem to concentrate because every other day I am not sure if resigning from my previous job so early was the right choice.
Honestly, I am down because of this bullcrap of a recruitment.
I just need to vent.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 3:38pm On Oct 06, 2025
Interview? Hmmm, this is Q4 and more than 12 months since this recruitment started. This has to be the longest recruitment with fewer to no updates on what's truly happening.
ExpertNLer:
Do you have an interview upcoming?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Exxonmobil Corporation Graduate Internship & Exp. Job Recruitment (12 Positions) by Alaprom(m): 3:33pm On Sep 26, 2025
Yeah, a lot has really changed. We also cannot dispute the figures until someone who actually got the offer comes out to say otherwise. The figure quoted may not be the annualized figures because some allowances come in cycles (A friend in the industry once told me allowances like car grant, etc is usually every 4 yrs, some others 2-3 years) That may have been added in error to arrive at 186mln. Regardless, the offer from Mobil is expected to be great.
I was told Chevron is the highest paying but if Mobil can do this, then the Chevron and Seplat EH guys may get something good too
ExpertNLer:
Lmao if it is Jarus then Jarus himself said he's not up to date with the industry. Industry has changed since
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Exxonmobil Corporation Graduate Internship & Exp. Job Recruitment (12 Positions) by Alaprom(m): 2:50pm On Sep 21, 2025
Ok, what about the GT,any idea on the offer amount?

godislove79:
I am not quoting figures. This is for an experienced role.

I saw it, but you can choose to believe or not.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Exxonmobil Corporation Graduate Internship & Exp. Job Recruitment (12 Positions) by Alaprom(m): 10:07pm On Sep 06, 2025
Hmmm..is this the last stage or there will be a background check for documents and credentials?

godislove79:
All medicals for all roles have been done and completed.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 11:44am On Sep 01, 2025
Ok, noted.

With the way this is going, closure within 2025 looks in doubt if the 1st batch is yet to commence medicals.

mrlee2:
The biometrics are part of the background checks. Medicals come afterwards, but as far as i know, and with the information available, not sure anyone has gone for medicals.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 7:56pm On Aug 30, 2025
Ok, is the biometrics coming after background checks? Is it also different from the medical stage?

Holargyde:
I think the recruitment is still going on quite well. People aren't just saying. This week, Wells Engr still went for Biometrics.

No matter how slow it is, there's some motion. Its best to just man up, take this L and focus on the next one in the case you haven't been called yet. Less depressing that way.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 4:01pm On Aug 25, 2025
Well I think you have a point but there's really no info even from those within on what's truly happening. Pausing a recruitment to catch up may not be the reason. Also, if resumption is likely Oct/Nov (2 months from now) then some peeps should be getting medical invite/offer letter to allow ample time for them to resign before resuming...my thoughts

Keglet:
I think the last set of interviews are ongoing this week
Reliability specialist and rotating equipment specialist. Meaning all interviews concerning chevron ends this week. Which makes me believe that Background mail for various positions can start coming in from next week or upper. I guess they paused the engineers recruitment(August batch last year) to enable these operator recruitment (October batch last year) catch up. I think the idea is everyone will resume same time which I strongly believe will happen October/ November this year

Petroleum engineers are yet to do medicals. Perhaps those are contract staff that have already gotten letters
@ExpertNler,
It's surprising that ExxonMobil is quite pacy with their recruitment judging from the fact that candidates have now received test invites 2 wks after the application closed and that of Chevron which started about 9 months ago for the 1st batch is yet to be concluded.

Any info on when those in 2nd batch will get interview invite?

For the first recruitment that came out in September, almost all the roles have done interviews but no offer letters out yet. People have completed medicals but are yet to receive offer letters
Thanks ExperNler.
Any idea if people are being called sequentially in order of roles that received background checks/did interview and which roles have been called for medicals?

Petroleum? Petroleum have had their background check emails following the interviews. Move on
Hi ExperNler,
Has the interview been conducted for all roles?
Any idea if offers have gone out to successful candidates?

moorerice:
1. 1 week after the interviews for most roles till the turn of facilities engineers. The trend, however, didn't continue for Wells, Senior facilities and financial analysts as far as I know.
2. There will be medicals after the background check stage. Duration for the backcheck is probably a function of the response time of the different institutions they'll be contacting.
3. I'm not sure full time offers have been disseminated. However, there are rumors that some people are being offered contract positions for some of these roles.
Thanks,
Though point 3 looks scary, given the job posting was for full-time roles.

Please has anybody heard back after the interviews for Wells, Senior Facilities and Financial Analyst positions?
What have they been cooking in Eko hotel for so long?
I think the WhatsApp group hasn't helped with the dissemination of information on this thread. My questions are;
What was the duration for those who got the background check after the interview?
Is the background check the last stage and how long does it take to be concluded?
Has offer letters been rolled out to those who did interviews in Jan/Feb?
Someone at the top had earlier asked for interview tips for those yet to have theirs, anyone can please share

PropertiesRe: Fees To Take Note Of When Renting An Apartment In Lagos by Alaprom(m): 9:02pm On Mar 20, 2022
@ContenantIG,

What's the maximum and minimum one can pay for the agreement and commission in 2022. Actually saw an apartment but lost interest when an agent said I will pay 100k each for agreement and commission (200k in total). Rent was 400k. I then asked what is the basis for computing the agreement and commission and I was told by some folks that this is Lagos and that is how everyone pays. No percentage of the rent. It is fixed. Just went through this topic and became surprised when you said each is 10% of the rent. Does this apply in all parts of Lagos except for ikeja and other places not applicably referenced in the Lagos landlord tenancy law?. Please I will expecting your feedback on the updated amount to pay for each of the incidental costs of the rent in March 2022.
Thanks
