Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 12:53pm On May 18 |
Thanks for this, perhaps everyone can be hopeful of closure this year ExpertNLer: I can confirm that Petroleum Engineers who did medicals were called this last week. I don't know about other disciplines though, but looking at the thread here, some were called as well. Earth Scientists who had done medicals more than 12 months ago were also contacted to fill a medical update form earlier in the week. I reckon the recruitment has started to pick up steam. Historically it takes Chevron about 2-3 weeks to provide next steps/update.
Let's see what happens after Salah break. |

Did this friend do medical? inibro: If you didn’t get initial feedback from Chevron just forget about the process.
A friend who had done interview and background check was called today by HR if he was still available and to reassure him that the process is still on |

Did pple whose medical is over a year get any mail? Andrenalin: It’s like your medical is still within a year… my thought though |

Bro, Has this now been confirmed or some rumours? Andrenalin: In Chevron, once your medical is over a year, you will had to renew it (update it). I believe those that have done it a year ago are mandated to do it again since it has been a year ago they did it. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 8:18pm On May 05 |
I thought pple did medical at Chevron's facility. What does being asked to update medical information mean? Andrenalin: “those who have done medicals are being asked for updated medical information as 12 months has passed“ heard this today from someone, can anyone confirm this? |

Imagine...one year ago? It's well. I think you've said it all, just pray and hope that by God's grace the little hope left isn't dashed. Truth is with the way things are, closure within this year is in doubt. The re-org affected and slowed things down. A contact said the only reason the recruitment is still on the table and may be considered later is because it started before the re-org. If it started much later, they would have drawn the curtains. Optimist2023: It's really as have been said. Nobody knows anything here in CNL. I did medicals a year ago last week. The way we were been hurried then to fly to Lagos for medicals, I thought we would resume immediately. I contacted the person that was liaising with us during medicals but he is also unaware. He says what I know, is what he knows. The slight assurance he gave me was that they would get back to us, whether or not the recruitment is concluded or cancelled. I don't know what's happening at HQ, my only hope right now is God. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 5:13pm On Apr 20 |
The only concern I have is no communication from official qtrs. Like, candidates deserve better-yes for now you owe them no obligation but the fact they honoured your interview and tests, makes them deserving to get an update or timeline on when this will be closed out. This is a crucial matter. Oga @winchman, just checking if you have any update |

Bro, The Jab isn't necessary. I only wanted to find out. This is all wrong. Chevron will conclude this recruitment. I know you have your doubt, same for everyone too but keep faith alive!!! ValeignNurt: 🤣🤣🤣 First time I am laughing reading this thread in a long time. Winchman lolzzzzz. The chairs and workspace are still in transit. That strait of Hormuz blockade did not allow the company to deliver the chairs. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just wait, immediately after the war. Lolz. |

It will be concluded but nobody knows when...more like 2nd coming😁.This is also one of the most protected recruitment, no one has an accurate (💯) update on true state of things right now. Current staff don't even know. Q1'26 is gone. pneumatikos: Everywhere on my LinkedIn page I see "I am happy to share that..." all new positions at chevron in different countries. I wonder why Nigeria's things are always different. |

You're not the devil's advocate. Your ask is right. I also struggle with understanding the relationship. Everybody with their POV ValeignNurt: Sorry to sound like the devil's advocate, but how does staff conversion of contract workers translate to our recruitment. I genuinely want to understand the relationship |

Really? Paused or outrightly cancelled? It's been paused not cancelled(I shared an update from a source earlier on). If cancelled, people will definitely get a regret mail. ValeignNurt: Bro, this process has been cancelled! Even for people that did medicals |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 1:41pm On Feb 17 |
This isn't hearsay but an accurate reflection of things now. There definitely has to be a strong business justification to increase headcount when other regions aren't doing so presently. If the recruitment was concluded way before the re-org in July 2025, it would probably have been better. ValeignNurt: Thanks boss, this seems like a sensible conclusion of the matter. Just to confirm boss, did you hear this from somewhere, or you came to this based on the happenstance? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 11:59am On Feb 17 |
As it is now, it's really beyond the folks here in Nigeria. Things have been paused for now and will only be reconsidered if the global guys give their support. Anyone telling you otherwise or that folks will soon resume isn't accurate at all. The wait may be for the longest!!! Just concentrate on other things and pray. seriousbaby: After all the wait and stress levels. It is well! Chevron, do better next time. What would it cost to communicate an important update like this and have prospective employees move on. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 6:44pm On Feb 13 |
Not clear to me what you mean by direct contract staff. As far as I know, companies outsource contract personnel roles to other entities. smartkester: Even the contract staffers that resumed were third party contract staff. Not directly from Chevron so I think people should just stay optimistic |

I'm aware the re-org will be completed fully at the end of 2026 as per the media. 2025 which is the first phase has been completed. Btw, how recent is your update on the status of the recruitment? babacha: Re-org did not end last year. It was clearly published on chevron website that the re-org will be ending at the end of 2026. Go check the info again on their website. Those who were invited can call the number on the invitation to get confirmation if the recruitment is still on or not. I have made that confirmation and the reply was that we will hear from them. All this different news from staff who know nothing about the recruitment is just surprising |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 2:58pm On Feb 12 |
Former Colleague-Core staff? What does this even mean, so they made people sit for series of test, interviews, and so on..to now realize this? Had a gut feeling that this delay is beyond re-org. Re-org ended since Sept'25. ValeignNurt: This recruitment has been deprioritized. It may be reopened later, but we have filled the space we requested opening for. A former colleague currently at Chevron EGTL now. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 6:22pm On Feb 11 |
Chief, Thanks for the updates. By onboarding, does this mean they've been given offer letter (pre-onboarding)? Winchman: How on this planet will new hires go straight to Escravos? How many of those roles are field based? Additionally, nobody ever said that this recruitment stalled because of office spaces. Just to be clear, I said that office spaces are being arranged for the PE & ES folks who will be onboarded soon. There's no regular employee of CVX who doesn't know about the reorg. The reorg is the fundamental reason for this delay. |

It could be that he was referring to the second batch of roles advertised in October 2024. These are all looking like field-based roles; Instrument technician Operators, EGTL planning advisor and turnaround planner, Rotating Equipment specialist, Electrical specialist, etc mrlee2: Even your 80%-90% is inaccurate. More than half of the roles advertised here are desk-based.
Attorney • Commercial Coordinator • Communication Coordinator • Communications Representative • Data Scientist • Decision Analyst • Financial Analyst • HR Generalist • HSE Specialist • Senior Security Information Specialist
What will these ones be doing on a rig/site, except occasionally? |

Okay, many thanks for the update. But then office space? Surprised though because this is CNL and not some Nigerian companies.... Winchman: Good question. However, I will not be disclosing my source. All you have to do is wait and see if this happens or not. They are currently looking for office spaces for the would be new hires. Post-restructuring, CVX mostly hot desks, so, many people do not have designated workspaces now. |

Did he give his reasons why he said so? I thought Q1'26 as rumoured is correct The silence is just out of it. If there's a hiring freeze, let people know, that's all, no hard feelings. ValeignNurt: Funny enough, I called a Chevron staff (rtd last year) yesterday, and he told me to forget about the recruitment. I just don't know what to believe any more. |
