But I'm totally confused.

I've been seeing some pre-order groups and those look like some scam.

I mean they offer cheaper shipping options but the way they are many, it's scary and all of them are locked, so you can't talk to any members of the group.

Besides, they promise to deliver your items in 45 days, so if you pay now, you don't know if you have been scammed until 45 days later

Looks like the perfect scam to me.

Other options like paying per kg is just too expensive.

The fridge I want to buy weighs around 20kg. Paying $8 per kg as often required will take shipping cost alone to around $160 which will be more than enough to buy a regular fridge of smaller size.

Please if you have experience with this importing stuff, please help a brother out

We have oil wells (offshore) in our international waters. These are oil wells that are not on any land (onshore). By the provision of the onshore/offshore dichotomy act, states with access to the international sea (littoral states) can claim 13% derivation from oil wells that falls within 200 nautical miles of their shoreline.

Based on the above, Cross River was considered a littoral state and earned 13% derivation revenue because of their access to the sea through Bakassi Peninsula. In 2005 however, Nigeria lost Bakassi at the World court in Hague and the peninsula was ceded to Cameroon. Based on this decision, Akwa Ibom went to court and argued that since Cross River lost access to sea through Bakassi, the oil wells revenue should now go to Akwa Ibom instead of Cross River. The Supreme Court in 2013 gave judgement in favour of Akwa Ibom state and all the oil revenue that used to go to Cross River was awarded to Akwa Ibom.

Basically, Cross River has not received 13% oil derivation revenue since then. However, they recently went to National boundaries commission and RMAFC to present new scientific data showing some oil well still falls within the boundaries of cross river and that it is wrong not to classify the state as a littoral state. So, this write up is urging the government to rectify the injustice done to the state and reclassify it as a littoral state based on new scientific data.
