I have not been able to conceive since my miscarriage in may. Doc had prescribed ovacare and clomid, yet no improvement. I now have irregular period at 2wks and wks intervals. My LMP was on 15th of july and was back again yesterday.
Someone suggested that I should go the traditional way that I now have hot stomach, he said each time conception takes place, it melts away.pls ur advice is needed.

First, traditional way would compound your problem: they will insert concoction inside you that will give you burns, infections and close up your birth canal. What I think you should do first is transvaginal ultrasound to see if your ovaries and lining of your wombs are okay. We then take it from there

Can you shed more light on the symptoms?
1. Where is the abdominal pain located? upper/mid/lower abdomen? right/left/midline?
2. Any pain with menstruation?
3. Any fever?
4. What is your urine pregnancy test result like? positive/negative
5. Have you done a pelvic scan? result?

The aim is to first exclude the most serious causes? ie ectopic pregnancy, pelvic abscess, endometritis, septic miscarriage.
Once a diagnosis is arrived at, then the treatment is easy. The most difficult aspect is to arrive at a diagnosis first.

However, i see the price in my location is cheaper than that in Lagos

Weldone sir,please i have a 5month baby boy but was born at 34weeks. Doctors said i had placenta abruption and had to bring the baby out through CS. My question is can this 4D scan detect this problem earlier? Am asking for future purpose because am still worried why it happened and the doctors that attended to me dont know the cause too. Hello. All is well that ends well. Since your baby is alive and well, I would say its worth it. The reason for wanting to do a CS for placenta abruption is to avoid a situation where blood can no longer get to the baby because the placenta has separated from the wall of the womb. What 4D ultrasound would have done in such instance is to check whether blood still flows to the baby very well. If so, delivery can be delayed.

But one must also stress the fact that management of the same condition varies depending on so many factors. For example, a woman who has abruptio placenta can still be induced, with the doctor continually staying by his side, and monitoring the labour with a portable 4d doppler scan, so that if any reduction of blood flow is about to occur, then she is wheeled to the adjacent theatre for emergency CS. But how many doctor would want to stay with a patient for that long, especially if he/she would want to attend to others? Except, of course, if the patient pays for him to devote his whole day to her.

So, in retrospect, since your baby is alive, i would say that your doctor took the best course of action IF the diagnosis was actually abruptio placenta.

For the future, it would be good for you to know that fetal deaths as a result of placenta abruption, pregnancy hypertension (preeclampsia) and fetal growth restriction can be prevented by Doppler ultrasound (see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22947667). So you may want to do doppler scan in next pregnancy

Wonderfull to know we av been chatting wt a professor. Really must commend ur selfless assistance, I'm just comming from your scanning center and am so excited.

My baby is dated 12wks 6days, and wt d 4d scan, it's the most beautiful thing iv ever seen. I almost cried for joy, I understood everything on the screen wout explanation, my baby waved and shook all the body for me, the hand was moving continually in different posture, to d mouth, head and ear, and the legs too, I was screaming like an illiterate, the doc? Dat did d scan was so patient, even recorded it on my fone for dh. Plus I av a beautiful first picture, even had 70 percent idea abt d sex at 12wks!!! . We named our baby today after going over the recording. Its amazing, I'm so excited, even checked ur clinic upstairs and looking forward to being doctored by a proffessor.

Weldone doc. Its good to know you are for real, no wonder ur answer to questions has always been professional.
