The Oyo State Police Command has arrested sixteen herdsmen, who allegedly kidnapped officials of the West African Examinations Council in Kishi area of the state.

Briefing newsmen at the Command headquarters on Thursday, the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude said the suspects were nabbed by the police who worked with local vigilante in an operation that lasted for 10 days.



The police boss disclosed that they were allegedly recruited from Zamfara State by a kingpin who is also from Zamfara. He is still being wanted by the police after he escaped arrest.

Odude said the gang kidnapped many people and killed some of them, with huge ransom collected before they released some of their victims.

"A deadly dare devil murderous itinerant armed robbery and kidnap gang had been terrorising the peaceful town of Kishi , Igboho and Igbeti in Oyo State, killing innocent victims after dispossessing them of their valuables," he said.

"The hoodlums, numbering about 25 , who are mainly herdsmen, were recruited by one Kire, a notorious armed robbery kingpin from Zmfara State. They hide their victims in their seemingly impregnable fortress at the Old Oyo National Park for some days before freeing them after collecting huge ransom from their distraught and helpless family members.

"Working with local vigilante in the area, the police, after receiving a report about the gang's activities , busted the gang and three suspected members arrested.

"They are Mohammed Kote, 25 ; Mohammad Legi , 26 and Kire Babuga, 20. They were arrested in their criminal hideout along Kishi/Igboho road and inside the Old Oyo National Park, Igbeti."

The police boss said the operation led to the arrest of 16 members of the gang while more are being hunted.

Two Asian university students were caught on camera having sex in broad daylight while on campus.



The students paid no mind to the fact that they were in public and anyone could see as they leaned against a large concrete building at University of New South Wales. In the video, the female student, in a bright yellow blouse, is seen on top the male student, as they got amorous with each other.


Onlookers spied from classrooms above and can be heard screaming and laughing in the video. A cameraman crept close to the couple and they became shy at this point and shifted out of view.

This viral video shows the moment a man from West Virginia caught his wife in a compromising position with their local drug dealer.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all police officers attached to political office holders, VIPs and prominent individuals in the country.



The police chief gave the order when he spoke at the monthly meeting with Commissioners of Police and other top police officers in Abuja today March 19th. According to Idris, the move is aimed at enhancing effective and efficient policing of the country.

“A Task Force has been constituted at the Force headquarters under the Command of ACP Mohammed Adamu Dan Kwara to ensure compliance to this directive while the Command CPs are to replicate same at their various commands. However, business entreprenuers, multi-national organizations, corporate individuals and entities that require such services and are found to be worthy will be considered from the Special Protection Unit of the Nigerian Police Force on application for re-validation through states commissioners of police where they are resident or domiciled. The Commissioners of Police are to profile and recommend, if such applicants merit the services for approval. By so doing, I am charging the Commissioners of Police with the responsibility of supervising such official deployment and thereby holding them accountable'' the memo reads

On the proliferation of Police Spy Plate Numbers and its abuse as well as illegal use of siren, the IGP said

“I have equally observed the excessive abuse of Spy Plate Numbers, covering of plate Numbers and illegal use of siren. The police spy plate numbers exclusively approved for use by banks, security companies and multi-national companies is greatly abused. A situation where criminals now take advantage of this to perpetrate heinous crimes. Some individuals have formed the habit of covering their vehicle plate numbers and also illegally use siren. This practice should stop forthwith. I have therefore directed that holders of all police spy number plates are to return them to the Force Transport Officer (FTO) at Force headquarters, where they are expected to apply for re-validation. The Task Force under ACP Dan Kwara will ensure compliance to this directive and arrest violators. A similar Task Force is to be formed at all the command levels by states commissioners of police to ensure compliance with this directives and the list of the task force team be forwarded to the DIG operations latest 31st March 2018''.

A 13-year-old girl has been killed by her 9-year-old brother following a fight over a computer game controller.

Police say the boy grabbed a .25 calibre handgun at about 1pm on Saturday when his sister would not give him the controller. He then shot her from behind and the bullet entered her brain.

The 13-year-old Mississippi girl died from her injuries in Le Bonheur's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The victim has been identified as Dijonae White who was a student at Tupelo Middle School.

The children's mother was in another room, feeding her other children lunch at the time of the tragic incident. A local sheriff said it was unclear how the boy obtained the gun. It is also unclear what consequences the young boy will face.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said: "He's just nine."

He added: "I assume he's seen this on video games or TV. I don't know if he knew exactly what this would do. I do know it's a tragedy."

Sheriff Cantrell told local press: "This is all new ground for us, we've never dealt with a kid shooting a kid at age nine."

Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has given reasons why his boss, President Buhari, cannot declare his intention to seek re-election in 2019, now.



In a recent interview, Adesina said President Buhari is keeping his intentions close to his chest to prevent his opponents from sabotaging it. According to Adesina, there are some Nigerians who have advised President Buhari not to run in 2019 because they know he is the candidate to beat in the upcoming presidential election.

Although supporters of President Buhari have called on him to run for a second term, he is yet to make his intentions known.

''You know the peculiarity of Nigeria, particularly now. If the president speaks too early, it’s a problem. There is a lot of sabotage in the country. You have also heard so many have said ‘don’t run.’ Because they know that if the president runs, other people should just run away because they don’t have the foggiest chance in hell to beat him. The trial of Maryam Sanda, the woman who stabbed her husband, Bilyaminu Bello, son of former PDP chairman Haliru Bello, to death at their home in Abuja last November, begins today at the High Court in Jabi, Abuja.

The court had adjourned the case for definite hearing today March 19th while striking out her first attempt for bail.

The court however granted her bail application at the fifth time of asking on March 7th after it was satisfied with the reasons given in the application.

The Nigeria police force who is prosecuting her, will present its first witness in court today.

Recently arrested 39-year-old vicious assassin, Adeola Williams aka Ade Lawyer, has confessed that he has killed over 100 since assassinating people was his source of livelihood.

“But now I’m born again,” he said while being paraded.

Williams, a father of three from Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, was recently arrested over the killing of one Ganiyu Ayinla, aka Pinero, who was the P.A to Adekunle Lawal, aka Kunle Poly, the NURTW chairman in Idumota, Lagos.

While giving account of his activities, he said, “If I get a chance to regain my freedom in this life, I will never go back to crime again. I also advise the millions of youths out there that crime does not pay. I was into crime for over 20 years and despite the risk involved and lack of rest of mind, I have nothing to show for it except the uncompleted bungalow in Ibadan. I have nothing on ground to fall back on despite taking the lives of more than 100 Nigerians. May God forgive me.”

However, Williams said he decided to take the life of Kunle Poly for refusing to talk to the state chairman of the union, Tajudeen Agbede, on his behalf. He said he worked hard for Agbede to emerge as the chairman but that he was dumped after the election.


Williams added, “I thought about my predicament because my wife was heavily pregnant and the money I was getting from Oluomo wasn’t enough and I wasn’t ready to use my gun for armed robbery, so I decided to end the life of the man who refused to help me mend my relationship with Agbede.”


He said after the attack on Kunle Poly, he was later arrested but that he didn’t want to go down alone, thus he implicated some other persons. He added, “I decided to rope in Olorunwa because he was the one who ruined my life. It was my support for him during his fight with MC Oluomo that made me to lose my position at the union.


"After he was removed from office, he had so much money but he was wasting it on women and movie actors and he refused to help me. I was just so bitter, so I framed him.” He said he also decided to lie against MC Oluomo and Prince Kazeem Aletu.

On Friday, US Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired FBI’s Deputy Director Andrew McCabe prompting an immediate rebuke from McCabe who said he is facing political retaliation by President Donald Trump.



McCabe was fired just days before he would have been eligible for a lifetime pension after determining that he lied to investigators reviewing the bureau’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s email server.



"Pursuant to Department Order 1202, and based on the report of the Inspector General, the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility, and the recommendation of the Department’s senior career official, I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement.

Philadelphia rapper, Meek Mill who is serving to 2-4 years in state prison for violating probation from his 2009 drug and weapons case, is reportedly one step closer to being released on bail.

The good news from the District Attorney Larry Krasner's office comes after the rapper's mother, Kathy Williams publicly pleaded with the attorney to “step in” and help her son.



On Wednesday, the Philadelphia District Attorney's office said it’s not against letting rapper Meek Mill out of prison on bail as he appeals his conviction.

This also follows the police corruption scandal surrounding Meek's arresting officer who reportedly lied under oath, according to documents acquired by the Daily News.



Prosecutors confirmed that the arresting officer was among those prosecutors from the previous administration who tried to keep off the witness stand because of credibility questions.

Prosecutors point out hundreds of previous convictions have already been overturned, and they think Meek will follow suit, shortly.

According to the prosecutors, they see no reason for Meek to be held without bail.

Reacting to the positive feedback from the Philadelphia District Attorney, Meek's mother told TMZ: "I would like to thank the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office for carefully evaluating my son’s matter and not opposing the request for bail. The fact that Robert’s entire conviction could be overturned is a blessing and I pray that God gives Judge Brinkley the wisdom to make the right decision and allow my son to return home to his family. Kenya has taken far reaching steps to stop people with some health conditions, including high blood pressure, from driving. Those with high blood pressure are among those who may not be allowed to have a driver’s licence.



The country’s National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) released the new driving curriculum with recommendation of mandatory medical tests for epilepsy, high blood pressure, sight and hearing problems for all drivers. According to the new curriculum, drivers are supposed to renew their licences every 10 years, and only after submitting a medical report.  However, motorists above 60 years must submit a medical report every year.



The medical tests will also include a range of brain-related conditions and diseases that disable mobility and muscle movement such as stroke.  In the curriculum, eye conditions lead a long list of mandatory medical tests for new drivers as well as old ones seeking licence renewals.



According to NTSA Deputy Director in charge of safety, Dr, Duncan Kibogong, some conditions will lead to automatic disqualification.  “For epilepsy, it is a no. The fact is, no one, including the driver, has any idea when the seizures can occur,” said Dr Kibogong.  The medical tests will also include the drivers’ heart condition as well as sleep, alcohol and drug-related disorders.  The tests will also look out for a driver’s susceptibility to non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and stroke.  Kibogong said NTSA would work closely with the Ministry of Health to ensure that only those who were fit were allowed on the road.



“In some cases, it does not make sense to even allow you to train as a driver when we know you are not fit,” said Kibogong.  He however insisted that the mandatory health clearance should not be viewed as discrimination against certain conditions.  “In most of these cases, it is just about correcting them. For example, for poor eyesight, you can be given glasses and you will be fine. There are only a few conditions that we may not allow,” he said.  Drivers to be affected by the new rules are those applying for new licences and those seeking renewals this year.



The practice of pegging the issuance of driver’s licences to medical tests may be new in the country but has been in force for years in other parts of the world.  In New York, for instance, if one loses the use of a leg, arm, eye or ear, such information must be included on the driving licence.  Such drivers are then only allowed to operate customised vehicles.  Similarly, if the driver’s hearing is not acceptable, a restriction of “hearing aid or full-view mirror” is added to the driver licence.  Those who wear hearing aids and cannot pass the hearing test must use full-view rear mirrors.

The Chairman of Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency, LNSA, Israel Ajao (RTD) has restated the resolve of the Agency to remain committed to its “Clean Up Lagos” exercise, just as he disclosed that the LNSA apprehended two cult members at Imota area of the State during a recent midnight patrol.

The suspects, Adebayo Oluwafemi (18) and Kehinde Olumide (19), were apprehended in the early hours of Friday with two dangerous weapons and a locally made gun in their possession. According to Ajao, the frequent complaints from the residents of Ori-Okuta in Imota area of Ikorodu was not unconnected with the activities of the arrested suspects whom he said confessed to being members of KK-Confraternity and Aiye Secret cult respectively.

He decried the influence of the duo and other members of the cult groups on school children within the area, especially the students of Imota Grammar School who engaged in nefarious acts.

In his words,”most of the problems that had arisen in the past from this school and the community as a whole is traceable to the activities of these cult members who forcefully recruit students and dispossess people of their belongings”.

He informed that the agency had mobilised its officials to Imota area of Ikorodu for some fact-finding and additional information on the activities of the cult groups.

“The most important part of our operation is that in as much as members of the public continue to support us and provide us with useful information, we will not hesitate to extend our operation to any part of the State and arrest all evil perpetrators within the society and neighbourhood”, Ajao maintained.

On 6th March, the Union chairman, Comrade Taqwa returned the LIRS birth day cake to the Executive Chairman of LIRS Mr SUBAIR because his conscience & that of the entire union exco could not take the marginalization/victimisation of colleagues on TRS to SRS cadre for birthday celebration.


He was issued a query because of this (see copy) and he responded (see copy) and also banned from coming to 5th floor LIRS. Further, efforts were made by State ASCSN chairman & secretary to see Mr SUBAIR and make him understand the reasons behind this were rebuffed by Mr SUBAIR & mgt.


Then the union chairman was issued a summon on 9th March 2018 to appear before Disciplinary committee on 12th March 2018 by 12noon for gross misconduct. One wonders when returning of a privileged item becomes gross misconduct.

Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, says the time has come for his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, to be the next governor of Imo state.



In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Sam Onwuemeodo, Governor Okorocha said Nwosu who is married to his daughter Uloma, will become governor despite all the antics of the opposition.



Okorocha was reacting to a statement credited to a group called Restoration Coalition of APC, that have vowed to stop the endorsement of his son-in-law, Nwosu, to be the next governor of the state.



Governor Okorocha in his statement said

Endorsement is a Public Statement or action showing support of something or somebody. It has been part of our democracy. And it is surprising that some people have been loosing sleep over the several endorsements the young Uche Nwosu has been getting. The difference is that his own endorsement is like a revolution, and almost all the other aspirants are feeling threatened. The release viewed it as an attempt to deceive the weary and indeed the general public. They should have gone ahead to also endorse their own candidate. What is their headache. Is Governor Okorocha the only governor who has indicated interest in one of the members of his Political family to succeed him. They should follow events in other States. And also do their political research. Endorsement has been there. And they should ask their Candidate to withdraw if he is not popular to the extent of attracting people to endorse him. Uche Nwosu is the man. This is his time and nobody should envy him''.

The Police in Enugu state have commenced a full scale investigation into an alleged incident in which a husband hacked his wife to death in Enugu city.



In a statement released by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ebere Amaraizu, the police command says the incident occurred yesterday March 8th.


Amaraizu, who did not disclose the location of the incident, said that the deceased, Mrs Nkechi Nnamani, was a mother of four children.

It was gathered that the wife identified as Nkechi Nnamani, has been hale and hearty before the husband, Sunday Nnamani, allegedly hit her with an object on the head which left her in coma. Nkechi was consequently rushed to Parklane Specialist Hospital, Enugu, where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty,’’ he said.

The PPRO said that police operatives had been trying to unravel the circumstances surrounding the alleged unfortunate incident; just as the dead body of Nkechi had been deposited at a nearby mortuary.
