Most doctrines we grew up to adapt to as Christians were made based on our culture and not the Bible.

That's why a Nigerian pastor can come to his pulpit and tell his female members that putting on trousers would lead them to hell but can't preach such sermon in Europe.

Look at the deeper life issue of television back then. I even know pastors during my university days who openly condemned Facebook and called it evil. Today they all have their Facebook pages.

In Africa our Christianity is practically linked to our culture that's why it's always good to know God personally and allow him to direct you.

God isn't interested in your hairstyle. Jesus told his disciples to go and preach the Gosple to the world baptizing them in the name of the father son and holy spirit. He didn't tell them to chase anyone out of the church because of hair style. And he made it clear during his time on earth that doing so makes you a pharasee.

The thing is not chasing anyone out or not. The question is Can "Christian Brothers" Plait Or Colour Their Hair? It is referring to those who claim to have accepted Christ and I know the gospel of the kingdom would make such a person not do many things. Are you going to plait your hair to please God or for self aggrandizement? God judges us by our motives. So, what's the motive behind plaiting your hair? We should understand that our dressing should be modest and must give glory to God. Let's be guided and understand that we are a light to the world as such should not be influenced by the world rather we should influence the world.

It's easy to judge another person when you're not in their shoes. I believe the teacher must have had her record in the school. If it says she's a habitual brute, then it can be concluded that she isn't fit for the job but if not, then she should be queried and left to continue her job. Working with kids can be tough. Passing through the Nigerian schools, things like this aren't rare to find. It shouldn't be condoned but what I saw in the video isn't a scenario that warrants a state punishment yet.

How I wish you'd sound this way it if was your child that's molested here.

What happened to 6-3-3-4 system of education? We are all mad in this country. I don't blame the devilish woman for slapping the boy in a way she will no slap her 8 years old at home. This is the standard way you build a road in any metropolitan area.

There is the road for driving, and then there is a sidewalk for pedestrians.

Then below the sidewalk is the drainage.

The sidewalk hits the wall so it blocks out all sand, meaning the road is SEALED. You don't even need to sweep it.

The drains are covered, so no need for ''ENVIRONMENTAL DAY'', with citizens digging out MUCK from filthy open gutters.

What is so hard about building our roads like this??

I LAUGH when I hear Nigerians talking about attracting TOURISTS to the country.

TOURISTS do not travel to a place in order to ride around in cars.

They are there to WALK.

And WALKING is not supposed to be 'SUFFERING' as we regard it here.

It's meant to be enjoyable. PEDESTRIANS are also TAXPAYERS and deserve their own road infrastructure, along with drivers.

Do you know that when you build roads with wide sidewalks, you can walk up to 10 kilometres and not feel it?

But with these useless roads we build with no designated walking space, you can't walk up to 1 kilometre without looking for okada or taxi.

That's why everyone is so desperate to own a car.

How many gutters will you jump?

When will these so-called state governors finally become CIVILISED like their counterparts all over the world?

The Nigerian Constitution enshrines the fundamental human right to peaceful assembly and association. Ideally, these associations should contribute to the personal and collective development of their members. However, the reality often deviates from this ideal. Instead of voluntary participation, individuals are frequently compelled to join associations simply because their trade or service aligns with those offered by the other members who have identified with them.

In many cases, these associations primarily benefit those who established them for personal gain or those who have managed to climb to influential positions within them. Sadly, members are often coerced into compliance, which serves to perpetuate a cycle of extortion and exploitation through the payment of monthly dues with will end in the pockets of a few leaders.

Members are sometimes forced to join these groups to avoid embarrassment or harm, while some hope to ascend to higher ranks where they might reap the benefits of the exploitation themselves. Examples of such associations include the Market Women Association, Okada Riders Association, Road Transport Employers' Association of Nigeria, Association of Nigerian Witches, Nigeria Landlord Association, Hairdressers Association of British Columbia, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, and Bank Directors Association of Nigeria. All of these groups demand annual subscriptions that appear to serve mainly to enrich the leaders rather than support the members.

A recent viral video from a Nigerian market highlighted the coercive nature of these associations. The video depicts a market woman being told that she must not sell her garri cheaper than others, illustrating the control exerted by these groups over their members. You can view the video here:

It seems that these associations are more focused on extorting and controlling their members than on their welfare, with an expectation for everyone to conform to their collective evil practices of ripping the general public as seen in the increasing prices of goods in Nigeria on daily bases e.g rice, cement, bread, beans, fuel with everyone ceasing their opportunity to BLOW in a Do me I do you spree.
Who should be blamed for these demonic acts? The demonic people or the government that lacks control? A fish begins to get rotten from the head and the people would have been civil and moral in their dealings had the government done what is right and have put in place punishment for erring members.

As Christians, we are called to manifest the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and not the fruits of the devil (Galatians 5:19-21). The Apostle Paul warns against being unequally yoked with those who practice unrighteousness (2 Corinthians 6:14) and encourages transformation by renewing our minds and the nonconformity with evil of the world (associations) (Romans 12:2). Our faith should be reflected in our actions and decisions, not merely in ritual practices as it's stated in Matthew 7:16-20 "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

My sister and I have faced numerous challenges, including having our sewing machines seized, because we refused to join the Tailors Association of Nigeria. This raises a critical question: Should people be forced to join associations where the supposed benefits are questionable or non-existent? For example, Okada riders pay daily dues yet receive no support when they are attacked and killed, their bikes are stolen or damaged due to poor road conditions.

It is essential for individuals to have the freedom to choose whether or not to join any association without facing coercion or exploitation. The current system of extortion and compulsion must end. People deserve the right to breathe freely and make their own choices regarding association membership.

Most times, we Christian *speak in tongues" to make ourselves feel good and that gibberish make sense at all. Why should your tongue bring healing to someone in China and UK where they have good medical facilities and experts. Let charity begin at home as most of those people don't pray because they have systems that work. Read Acts 2 well enough and you'd understand that speaking in tongues is you, as a Yoruba boy who has not left Oshodi, speaking in Chinese so as to communicate the gospel of Christ to a Chinese who needs the savoir. That was the essence of the diverse tongues God has blessed us with. It is for the propagation of the gospel and nothing more. I am a Christian who understands that what we do is mere blabbing. We speak in tongues out of and in deception. As a Christian, I'd rather we manifest the fruits of the spirit - long-suffering, meekness, honesty, integrity instead of speaking in tongues with a heart full of hate.
