Bayo300g:Your Ronaldo did not score talk less of play well. I hope he does not cry again when Portugal crash out |
LawalSamira:It is a cool upgrade for a referee jersey since traditionally referee jerseys are extremely plain. It's a good jersey in terms of Designs and construction no doubt but imagine if a football team wore it it would not go noticed because the design is not that radical in terms of color |
12345678910xyz:Men Messi scored his first World Cup hattrick. It's all eyes on Cristiano Ronaldo |
Northsouth:Germany don't have a good squad I don't know what happened and they spent millions on their youth academy. The problem is simple while other countries like France are getting African players to play for the national team Germany are not. Germany may need to get more foreign born players |
PulaPower:Thank You. O se... Mo gbe ahhhh |
aswani:The score was really 5-2 Senegal won the match. |
PulaPower:Thanks for pointing that Senegal scored..I stopped watching when France scored the third one |
PulaPower:Also Senegal had the wrong formation at 4-3-3 while France had 4-2-3-1. France had a more defensive set up while Senegal had a more attacking set up. In High Quality matches it is always best to be more defensive than attacking. That midfield has to choke the opponents. It's always best to be defensive minded so that if you lose the margin will be by little. Morocco and France used the same formation that is why Brazil found it hard to break down Morocco. My favorite formation is 4-4-2. One thing I am totally against is Attackers defending deep in their own half what I want is one attacker permanently around the center circle and another attacker close to the center circle so that a defender can blast the ball upfield and the two attackers start a counter attack. This is a strategy that is rarely used apart from the season Leicester city won the league with Jamie Vardy scoring from counter attack. It was used by Argentina to beat Brazil in 1990 with Maradona Releasing Caniggia to score the winner. |
PulaPower:That is because France came with over energy, the match against Ivory Coast woke them up to the danger of not playing like it is World Cup final. Ivory Coast taught France how to play football, that humiliation of losing to ivory coast is a lesson that will not be soon forgotten by the team. France have woken up |
PulaPower:The way France gave Senegal 3-0 will be very special to the French. Omo I nearly collapsed when I saw the score online, maybe it is a good thing NIgeria did not go to this world cup. If we cannot beat Congo is it France we can beat ? |
KobolanderSegun:Me im praying for Ronaldo to have a good competition but I doubt it. In the pantheon of international football, the FIFA World Cup stands as the ultimate crucible for greatness. It is a tournament where legends are forged, records are shattered, and historical narratives are rewritten. Among the modern era’s most captivating figures in this arena is Kylian Mbappé. With a career defined by blistering pace, clinical finishing, and an uncanny ability to rise to the occasion, Mbappé has already etched his name into World Cup history. As of the conclusion of the 2022 tournament in Qatar, his World Cup goal tally stands at an astonishing 14 goals. This number is not merely a statistic; it is a testament to his generational talent, placing him in the rarefied air of footballing immortals and setting the stage for his pursuit of ultimate glory in the 2026 World Cup. Mbappé’s World Cup journey began in spectacular fashion at the 2018 tournament in Russia. At just 19 years old, he announced himself to the global stage with four goals in seven matches. His campaign was highlighted by a mesmerizing performance in the Round of 16 against Argentina, where he scored two stunning goals, becoming the first teenager since Pelé in 1958 to score multiple goals in a single World Cup match. He capped off his breakthrough tournament by finding the net in the final against Croatia, becoming only the second teenager in history to score in a World Cup final. Those four goals were instrumental in securing France’s second World Cup title and earned Mbappé the tournament’s Best Young Player award. However, for a player of his caliber, 2018 was merely the prologue. If Russia 2018 was the introduction, Qatar 2022 was the masterpiece. Entering the tournament as the focal point of the French attack, Mbappé delivered a performance for the ages, netting eight goals to claim the Golden Boot. He scored in the group stage against Australia and twice against Denmark, followed by a brace in the Round of 16 against Poland. Yet, it was the final against Argentina that cemented his legendary status. Trailing 2-0 in the second half, Mbappé single-handedly dragged France back into the contest, scoring two goals in 97 seconds to force extra time, and later converting a penalty in the shootout. His hat-trick made him only the second player in history, after England’s Geoff Hurst in 1966, to score three goals in a World Cup final. When viewed through a historical lens, Mbappé’s tally of 14 World Cup goals is profoundly significant. It places him above the legendary Pelé for 3rd on the all-time World Cup scoring list, trailing only Miroslav Klose (16), Ronaldo (15), Gerd Müller (14), and Lionel Messi (13). Domestically, he sits just one goal above Just Fontaine, who holds the French record with 13 goals, all of which were scored in the singular, magical tournament of 1958. Furthermore, Mbappé holds the record for the most World Cup goals scored by any player before the age of 24, a milestone that underscores the unprecedented trajectory of his career. What makes Mbappé’s goal tally particularly remarkable is the context in which these goals were scored. Unlike many prolific scorers who accumulate their totals against lower-ranked opposition, a significant portion of Mbappé’s goals have come in high-stakes knockout matches against elite competition. His ability to deliver in moments of extreme pressure—against Argentina in 2018, Poland in 2022, and the monumental 2022 final—demonstrates a psychological fortitude that matches his physical gifts. As the football world navigates the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Mbappé finds himself in the absolute prime of his career at 27 years old. The expanded 48-team tournament in North America presents a new canvas for him to add to his tally. With 14 goals already secured, the historical milestones within his reach are staggering. Surpassing Just Fontaine to become France’s all-time leading World Cup scorer is an immediate and highly probable target. Beyond that, eclipsing Pelé, Messi, and potentially challenging the upper echelons of Klose’s seemingly untouchable record of 16 goals, is a realistic possibility should France maintain a deep run in the tournament. In conclusion, Kylian Mbappé’s World Cup goal tally of 14 is a defining metric of his early legacy. It bridges the gap between the romanticized history of the sport and its modern, hyper-athletic reality. He has already achieved what most players only dream of: World Cup glory, individual accolades, and a place among the game’s all-time greats. Yet, the story is not finished. As he steps onto the pitch in 2026, Mbappé carries not just the hopes of a nation, but the opportunity to transform a remarkable tally into an unassailable record, forever solidifying his status as one of the greatest World Cup players in the history of the sport. |
