You see, 1 Samuel 13:1 in the King James version simply says that Saul was a "son of one year." But it was not referring to as son with respect to age, but with respect to his reign as king of Israel.
Additionally, 1 Samuel 13:1 does not say that Saul reigned for only two years, but that he had been reigning for two years when certain events began to transpire. And what events are these? Well, all you had to do is read 1 Samuel 13:2 where it is said that Saul started raising an army of 3,000 men in the second year of his reign and he also declared war on the Philistines in the same year.

Also, the difference between the King James version of 1 Samuel 13:1 and that of the New International Version is that the translators of the NIA added additional information from Acts 13:21 about the OVERALL length of King Saul's reign, in addition to the events that transpired in the first two years of his reign:

And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.

So as you can see, the followers of Yaweh did not actually corrupt their Bible as many of my stupid followers believe.
