Qatar stadium design critics: "It looks like a vagina." AECOM Technology Corporation posted a short video animation of the design for Qatar's new Al Wakrah sports stadium Saturday, which under almost immediate criticism for its resemblance to female Instruments. The $120 billion project bears little resemblance to an ancient dhow boat "that Qataris traditionally used for pearl diving." Qatar is building the 45,000-capacity stadium to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The climate-controlled stadium will be about 12 miles south of Doha, in "one of the oldest inhabited areas in Qatar, with a rich cultural heritage evidenced by its traditional Islamic architecture, historical buildings, distinctive mosques and archaeological sites," according to AECOM. In an exclusive interview , the Pop singer says they were free to leave because he didn't sign any contract with them. The 'Ike kan' singer further explained that he created Alapomeji to serve as a platform for upcoming artistes to only exhibit their talents and move on from there. He likens it to having ID Cabasa when he was upcoming. '…It's like a flag bearer where you can lift people up. I wish there was Alapomeji when I was growing up. When I was growing all I had was a brother who believed in me and he helped me'. 'What I did then was putting them on as upcoming artistes. If you ask anyone of them, I never signed an agreement with anyone. I didn't sign them on, all I did was give them a platform whereby they can exhibit their talent to let people know about them, their content and if they deem it fit to move on they can go and that's what they did when they all left', 9ice told TheNetNg during a visit to the newspaper. The singer also revealed that he's pretty cool with all of them, when we asked if they still talk. 'Yes we do. We talk all the time we call and talk, we still meet at shows', 9ice says. Nollywood actress and producer of award winning movie, Jenifa, Funke Akindele, may be rich, famous and widely celebrated, but something is still missing in her life: a husband. The actress whose nine months old marriage to Kenny Oloyede crashed about three months ago, bared her mind recently when she said she would want to settle down fast and start bearing children, seeing that age is not on her side. In her mid-30s, Funke said she is praying to God for her own man soon. “Man proposes and God disposes,” she said, waxing spiritual, “so people should keep their fingers crossed and pray for me to meet the bone of the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh and not somebody else. “It is one of my dreams to bear children soon and I believe it will come to pass soon. Once I start my home, I hope to cut down on acting so that I can give my family more attention,” she says. “Some of my mates have more than three kids today,” Funke laments, again going spiritual; “Perhaps, this is how God wants me to be for now. When the time comes, and that time could be anytime, I hope to put acting on hold for a family.” She also has a word for all those guys who are scared of asking for her hand in marriage: “To all the guys scared of approaching me for marriage, I say, you don’t have to let inferiority complex overwhelm you. If God says you are the right person for me, then nothing will stop it.” Source : http:///C2jqI |
https://www.that1960chick.com/wp-content/uploads/BRYMO-1.jpg The Brymo vs Chocolate City War Is Far From Over. Both Parties Deadlocked, In Court Today You may have heard that Brymo left record label Chocolate City in May, while still under contract. A few weeks ago he released an album with his new team, but by law he is still a Chocolate City artiste, thus the album is technically theirs & he is in breach of his contract, so Chocolate City hit him with a lawsuit, and he went on a twitter rant. Since then both sides have been in talks, but last night Brymo’s team released a statement which basically said accusing Chocolate City of Bad Faith. Read it below “On the 30th of October 2013, a meeting was held between Brymo, his Management and representatives of Chocolate City at the Chocolate City office. This was one of many prior attempts at reaching a mutually acceptable resolution of the conflict between the Artiste and the Record Label. After deliberations at the meeting, certain terms were agreed between the parties and Chocolate City promised to capture the terms in an agreement to be signed by both parties. A few days later, Chocolate City sent in a plan with terms which were not reflective of the deliberations and agreements at the said meeting. A similar occurrence had taken place in June when lawyers representing Chocolate City promised to hand Brymo a Statement of Release from the label on the condition that he would give up his album to the label. The artiste had insisted that Chocolate City has no right to the work as he still possessed the rights to the work and the lawyers had failed to provide the release even after Brymo agreed to give up the said album. Please note that the artiste’s initial decision to release his work/ earnings was done in good faith and with a desire to reach an amicable settlement. It is becoming apparent that Chocolate City is not acting in the same spirit of good faith. The artiste elected to sever relationships with Chocolate City in May 2013 when Chocolate City consistently failed to fulfill its obligations under the contract. And rather than resolve amicably, the label is devising strategies to ensure that the Artiste remains unproductive. Brymo asserts that under the circumstances of the creation, nature, execution and implementation of his contract with Chocolate City, he is well within his rights as an Artiste and if no amicable resolution is reached, will be willing to defend same under the provision of the Law.” Brymo is an amazingly talented artiste & I feel really sorry for him, but sentiments aside artistes in Nigeria need to understand that a contract is binding. You can’t just have disregard for the law by walking out on a contact…there are consequences to this. I hope Brymo has a good lawyer cos Chocolate City look like they could win this. Both parties are due in court today. Source: http:///C2jqI |

https://img.naij.com/n/0b/a/olamide-on-stage-1.jpg Twenty-two-year-old fuji/pop rapper, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide has no doubt taken over the mantle of leadership as far as rap music is concerned in Nigeria. Born on March 15, 1989, Olamide never hesitates to promote his roots, Bariga, Lagos, in his music. In 2010 he hit the limelight when he dropped the lead single from his debut album, Eni Duro, which transformed him into an emerging voice on the Nigerian music scene. Overnight, the final year student of Mass Communication from Tai Solarin University became the beautiful bride as he was courted by established acts for collabos before breaking away from his mentor, ID Cabasa, and starting his own label, YBNL Nation. One thing that sets this rapper apart is his ability to code switch while on the mic as he flips between Yoruba and English effortlessly. Olamide has performed live on big stages all over Nigeria and he is most definitely a street favorite with the release of his debut album, Rhapsodi and now, talk about a third studio album, Baddest Guy Ever Liveth is rife following the success of his sophomore effort, YBNL. In this exclusive interview with TAIWO OLUWADARE, Olamide bares his mind on issues including the late Dagrin. Excerpts: Could you tell us about yourself? My name is Olamide Adedeji. I’m a native of Abeokuta, Ogun State. I was born and bred in Bariga, Lagos. I’m a student of Tai Solarin University where I’m studying Mass Communication. I’m from a family of seven. How did you start out as rapper? I discovered music was in me while growing up. In 2003 I started writing my own lines and performing at shows and the rest today is history. What was growing up like? Growing up was not that rosy neither was it that bad. Growing up in the ghetto was quite challenging because you’re looked down on by kids from upscale neighbourhoods. In the ghetto I was given ghetto orientation which is never to look down on myself no matter what. Tell us about your love life? I have nothing to say about that. Late Dagrin seemed to have influenced you a great deal. What does he mean to you? He’s more like the late Martin Luther King. I call him Barrack ‘O Grin. He is such a blessing to Nigeria. He really paved the way big time for up-and coming rappers like myself back in the day. It’s not like there has not been other people before him but his impact was awesome! Dagrin is a great artiste and I respect him; he is a legend. Lately you have become so big. How are you filling the vacuum Dagrin left behind? I don’t know. It is depend on people’s perspective. I just live my life the way I feel and besides, I’m not the only rapper in the industry. There are others like Lord of Ajasa. However I’m only doing my thing. Now people are comparing me to Dagrin and that feels great. I see it as a blessing from God. I can’t say I’m the best rapper; that would be ridiculous. It’s like saying Jay Z is the best rapper. However, it’s not like Jay Z is better than B.I.G but people see the love they have for B.I.G in Jay Z. B.I.G died when he started making money and people were heartbroken. And Jay Z can never open his mouth and say ‘I’m better than B.I.G.’ The same thing applies to me too. I can’t say I’m better than Dagrin. How do you get inspiration for your music? I discovered a long time ago that rap music is all around me so I draw a lot of inspiration from my environment. I just feel comfortable being a rapper as opposed to singing. Seeing rap icons like Dagrin and the love he had for the art just overwhelms me. How do you handle your female fans? (laughter)We dey try. Behind every successful man there is a woman. For me it’s not just about a woman but women so I take advantage of it positively. I don’t sleep with my female fans; I treat them like my sisters. What’s been your happiest moment? God has done many things for me. I can’t tell which moment is the happiest but one I can remember was the release of my first album, Rhapsodi. I was so happy when it was released. That album registered my name in the annals of the history of rap music in Nigeria. What was it like meeting I.D Cabasa? I met I.D Cabasa when I went to record with a friend in a studio. We met each other and struck the right chords and the connection took off from there. That’s how I ended up having his support. And ever since, he’s been giving me that special big brotherly love. What’s your advice for up-and-coming artistes? My advice is that they should put God first and do less of unnecessary hard work. If not rap what would you be doing? For now, I don’t see myself leaving the rap world. I would rather be running a rap music label. What is the meaning of Ilefo Illuminati It is slang in my neighbourhood in Bariga, Lagos. Ilefo simply means swag. There is talk that you belong to illuminati. How true is this? I have been correcting that impression in all my interviews and I’m not going to get tired of it. I only feel I need to keep representing my own people and communicating with them in a way that they will understand me. So, I want to tell my people that I don’t belong to illuminati or any secret society. What has been your challenges? Wow! It used to be an issue of finance. Right now the major one we are facing is the issue of piracy. And it’s crazy men! I feel it should stop but I also know it can never be stopped! What are your dreams? I want to be a global brand that is why I’m looking up to God. It is not by my power but by the grace of God. I feel honoured and great that I’m one of the top profile rappers in town. A photo released by the police shows a bullet hole in the phone screen and a bulge at the back where the bullet protruded There's no doubt cell phones have made life infinitely easier, but one man realized just how helpful they can be when an HTC smartphone saved his life. Early Monday morning, a gas station clerk was aiding a customer in finding a specific drink when the customer pulled a gun and demanded that the clerk open the safe. The clerk was unable to do so, and a second clerk was given the same instruction. Neither clerk was able to unlock the safe and the gunman left, but not before firing off a single shot. Police were immediately called to the Hess gas station in Winter Garden, Florida. While they were interviewing the clerk to gather information, he complained of chest pains. Until then, no one noticed that he had been shot. According to police accounts, he survived the attempted armed robbery thanks in part to his cell phone, which was stashed in his chest pocket. "So they started looking at the clerk. That's when they realized that the guy had actually shot at him, hit him, struck his cell phone, and the cell phone had stopped his bullet," Winter Garden Police Lt. Scott Allen said. The clerk was taken to the hospital, but was quickly released with no injuries. The chest pain he complained of was due to the blunt force of the bullet hitting the phone. His HTC smartphone, however, didn't fare so well. The screen is shattered and bullet is lodged into the phone. The other clerk was not harmed. "I've seen individuals get shot with low-caliber handguns and I've seen it be life ending. So, for this gentleman to be as lucky as he is, it's a good day for us," Allen said. This isn't the first time an HTC phone has saved a man's life from a bullet. In 2011, a valet at an Atlanta night club was shot by two men. According to the Associated Press, one of the bullets may have done some serious damage had it not been stopped by the man's HTC, also located in his chest pocket. Reports from this case indicate that the phone's battery kept the bullet from doing any harm. The lesson from this story is simple: be carefull with your smartphone, one day it may save your life!
