Alliswell19:
Good day everyone, can someone please help me with these two questions:

1) Does anyone know from practical situation about University of Calgary refund policy. I've read their policy and also contacted them and they said they refund fees if visa is denied, except the 500CAD non refundable fee. I just want to know if anyone has had problem with them before in that aspect.

2) There was a time I was hearing in this forum that Nairobi VOs don't have joy via refusal rate sometime last year as they were handling paper application then. Please I want to know if both paper and online are done the same place now as I want to apply via paper.

Answers will be very appreciated.

Good day everyone, I need your advice.
I applied sometime last year and was refused based on financial status. Someone later advised me that using a third party sponsor, that I should've ensured the sponsor makes some deposit towards my school fees before applying, which my sponsor would've done comfortably if I had told him.

My problem now is that he has not been in the country for a while now and I have tried reaching him but unsuccessful. So, my brother decided to sponsor me.

My tuition for my program (MEng) is about 5.2M. If he gives me 6.2M now, 3.2M for tuition deposit and 3M for living expenses in the first year, while the balance will be paid subsequently as he makes enough annually to cover the rest. Also, I'll use my mom as co-sponsor with 4M she kept separately in a savings account not his salary account, in case my brother experiences any difficulty in paying the remaining tuition fee.
What are my chances and what do you think especially about changing sponsor?

Also, both my brother and my mom have no dependants to care for and there are other non liquid assets I plan on attaching as source of finance like lands and so on.

you should first of all show a very close and familiar relationship with your sponsor, it seems he is a an immediate family member...Then from what i was told when i was applying for mine and profile seen even here, Canada doesn't just to see big money in your account. they want to see how you make this money and how often you have it..so for a sponsor with his personal business it goes a long way if he or she can include some transaction payment receipts, signed invoice, contract letters etc..not just cac documents.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate.

Good day people of nairaland,

I was refused yesterday based on my personal assets and financial stutus. Please can someone explain that better to me as I'm confused whether it's based my financial status or my sponsor's financial status as I'm not self sponsored.
Applied 25th October paper route.
My SOA has flow of over 19M with balance of 4M while my sponsor has personal (not any of his businesses) flow of about 50M with balance of 8M after giving me my first year living expenses. He has no dependant as his kids are all independent professionals outside Nigeria. I attached his CAC documents
I need advice from you all to know where my problem is from and how to solve it.
I even attached my personal land property.

Thanks for your anticipated response and advice.
