In actual fact no nigerian leader from 1960 till date should be celebrated except those who fought for independence.
They didnt all do enough to build institutions now the Nigeria system is so weak. Nothing has a structure.
courts are gone, civil societies and the legislature, police force even the military.
How did things become so bad, its all their collective contributions to the rot. |

First way to resolve this road problems
Ban any minister or commissioner of works from taking flights just road transport during their tenure. Whoever is not ready for the condition should not take the job.
In anyway they can use the coastal road. We told them that they should focus on fixing the existing roads they refused.

Politics › Re: Abdulsalami Abubakar's 83rd Birthday Is Today by alphaconde(m): 9:32am On Jun 13, 2025 |
AndroBlaze: This is very correct and more people need to recognise this.
With out a doubt, history has proven that this man is the true hero of Nigeria's current democracy. In fact only MKO trumps him as far as I am concerned. Think about it, a military man that chose in less than 2 years to do what other failed to do for almost 25 years and relinquish power without violence, force or threats.
Again look at the so called democrats that followed him:
OBJ after enjoying a fair initial election ensured he used state apparatus to enforce his 2nd term victory and those of his lieutenants all over Nigeria. Next thing you know, we are seeing his efforts to ensure he subverted the constitution and did a 3rd term, forgetting where we were coning from or his intial leagacy 30 years earlier!
Yaradua was there too short so we could not see his true colours. However one cannot ignore the fact that he chose himself and his family over Nigeria, by ensuring that despite the fact he was too sick to rule, he would make it difficult for other competent people and leave a whole Nigeria to his wife to be making decisions!!
GEJ, started off well and then went to campaign that he only wanted to finish Yaradua's 2nd term . Only for him to then change his mind and finish what his godfather OBJ started.
Buhari's sin was he was always a bad loser after elections he lost, some fairly and other quite unfairly. However If he really loved Nigeria more than his ambition, he would have tried to douse tension anytime he noticed innocent people were being killed for his mandate that eventually ended up not changing much for the common man he claimed he fought for.
And finally, BAT, well we can see clearly that after only one year, all his cohorts faced squarely 2027 and are making it clear, in words and in actions that in no way should anyone even imagine that there is a vacancy.
These 4 people were the beneficiaries of the sacrifice by General Abubakar....and few can dispute that these 4 people are very representative of the typical Nigerian behaviour.
Thank you again sir and you will definitely be remembered properly by us that take history seriously. Thanks so much for exploding my remark. Well we can not say its too early to score the current president, consider his operations and monarchial tendencies in Lagos state and score him accordingly. |
