I agree with your writeup. I can tell you first hand that Nigeria army has some of the finest and educated personnel in their rank. I have interacted with a number of them.
The problem with fighting boko haram and other muslim terrorists in Nigeria is down purely to religious and tribal sentiment. This is my opinion . I honestly feel for the soldiers that lost their lives and their family from this terror .
A lot of the muslim folks in the military, especially the ones at the top, government, emirs and clerics are sympathetic to the cause of the jihad being fought by them.
It will take the Nigeria army no time to completely destroy this muslim insurgency if the right people are in charge. Trust me!
