Rights to go about their daily routes on duty and they should also know they have no right to block roads or obstruct public faicilities from being accessible. Security should be in place to protect non protesters and and these facilities/infrastructures...any violations on these muat be preventes or dealt with immediately. They can go on indefinite protest as long as law and order is strictly adhered to...

The real question is, why does Hamas use children as human shields for their nefarious activities? Why do they launch rockets from schools? I expect rational individuals to think critically. You nailed it. Nigeria's formation was quite different from that of the United States and we should never assume runnings of both countries must be identical despite having federal system of govt. It should be tailored to our peculiar formation or historical experience, in order words, what is best suited for us.

At the signing, only the Heads of the states were represented because the counties/ LGs had given their rights to be exercised by their State Heads.

In Nigeria, not even at Independence were the states represented so we had no state uniting to form Nigeria. We had regions so if we were to go by the American definition of federalism, we should have the regions not states so it is the states that should now be the equivalent of the LGs. Also, as at 1999 constitution, we already had a strong LGA system so they can not be ignored like those of US.

This is the significant historical difference between our own federalism and that of US that the Punch is ignoring and you can't fault an American university by drawing its definition from the American history.
It's like comparing democracy in US with that of UK. What UK operates is still largely monarchy through the powerful unelected House of Lords yet the UK pretends to be among countries practicing democracy.


The Nigerian constitution never intends that the State-LGAs joint account should be controlled by Governors. In fact, the Legislature should have more oversight but some Governors have cornered all the powers and made a mess of the separation of powers. That's why the Governors lost at the SC. I don't see a single part of the Constitution where a Governor derived the power to collect and now distribute. They (both state and LGAs) should collect together and share together but in reality, it is the Governors, who collect and who share.

They should also know that increasing workers pay without vibrant enterprise to dtive the economy will further heighten inflation they are complaining about..

Hilux is better option for security pupose than Sienna. Securing a city as Abuja or anywhere in the country isn't cheap...the onus lies in the hands of our security personnel to judiciously used it in curbing crime.

Recovered loot will hardly do a month one off payment of salaries. It is not even a sustainable source like you pointed. States should be generating revenue internally by establishing capital projects as against expenditure mostly on consumption with Abuja handouts or borrowed funds.

It's just the weather that changed the narative. The period you did the seedlings would be on point last season. The ones i transplanted in batches were result of failed nursery replanted twice. Henceforth i will prefer sowing in batches to combat the unpredictable weather.

Nursed mine early February. Learnt my lessons and currently making plans for a better production with next batch.

The ones in my field are not this bad though could be better. But similar to what you experienced, seeslings I transplanted late march weren't so good, the one done early April better while the last set done in late April had the best fruit set compared to the rest. Like you pointed, adverse weather had its toll on tomato plants, especially those planted early in the year.

This year's climate is the worst I've ever experienced. I lost all my 50g Cobra 26F1 seedlings although can't tell if the seed quality is compromised this year because 2 other tomato farmer friends also experienced the same with Cobra. One lost 3 tins of 50g each while the other lost 4 tins. Same Cobra that gave us good production last year.
The Diva that managed to survive aborted over 75% of its flowers. Tomato has dealt with me this year. My succor is in the 2acres of rodo I have that's currently fruiting else, I would be lost completely.

She and her ilks should understand there are limits to being politically right...she now cuts a poster for bad example younger generation shouldn't copy in this instance...
