Sen. Comr. Uranta Justice Uranta, a 200-level student of Office and Information Management at Rivers State University, has emerged as the National President of the National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) Worldwide.

The Rivers-born leader, who previously studied Office Technology and Management at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, won the election held on 28th February 2026.

Uranta, a former Faculty President, PRO of NUOS, and Electoral Chairman at the national level, enjoys massive support from students across the state.

He has since been inaugurated at the NURSS National Secretariat within Rivers State University and is recognized as the authentic President.

Sen. Comr. Uranta Justice Uranta is a student of Rivers State University, currently in the Department of Office and Information Management (200 Level).

He was born on 18th August 1996 in Rivers State. He obtained his National Diploma from Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, where he studied Office Technology and Management.

Over the years, Comr. Uranta has actively served the student community in various leadership capacities, including:

Former Faculty President, Association of Business and Administration Students, Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic

Former Public Relations Officer (PRO), National Union of Opobo Students (NUOS), Polytechnic Chapter

Former Electoral Chairman, National Union of Opobo Students (NUOS), Worldwide Secretariat


On 28th February 2026, he contested for the position of National President of the National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) Worldwide and emerged victorious for the 2025/2026 academic session.

His emergence was a reflection of the confidence and support he enjoys among students, who believe in his leadership qualities and vision.

Following his victory, he was duly inaugurated at the NURSS National Secretariat located within Rivers State University.

Sen. Comr. Uranta Justice Uranta is hereby recognized as the authentic National President of NURSS Worldwide. He remains committed to serving and representing the interests of Rivers State students globally.

Students with concerns or challenges are encouraged to channel them through the NURSS National Secretariat at Rivers State University, where the President is always available to listen and take action.

He previously contested for the position of SUG President at the University of Port Harcourt, where he gained wide recognition and support from the student community. Not one to back down, he further pursued his vision by contesting for the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Rivers State axis—where he has now emerged victorious.

Beyond politics, Comr. Christopher is the founder of “Feed the Street Port Harcourt,” a humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting the less privileged and spreading hope within the society. This project highlights his commitment not just to students, but to humanity at large.

Born on July 14th, Comr. Christopher Bright Chukwuebuka continues to build a reputation as a young leader driven by purpose, service, and impact.

DR. SAMPSON WAGBARA SETS NEW STANDARD IN IAUE — RESPONDS SWIFTLY TO STUDENTS’ COMPLAINTS

The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Sampson Wagbara, has set a remarkable standard in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) by proving himself as a leader who truly listens and acts in the interest of students.

Earlier in March 2026, students raised concerns through Alutagossip Television over faulty sockets and poor lighting in the new lecture halls within the institution. Following this, the AlutagossipTV media team engaged the Dean in a media chat, presenting the complaints and demanding urgent intervention.

In response, Dr. Wagbara acknowledged the issues and assured students of immediate action. True to his word, as of March 20th, the Dean has successfully overseen the repair of all damaged sockets and faulty lighting systems in the new lecture halls.

This development now enables students to comfortably use the lecture halls for night reading and academic activities.

During a follow-up media chat, the Dean also issued a strong warning to students involved in vandalism and theft of electrical wires and fittings within the school. He emphasized that anyone caught engaging in such acts will face strict disciplinary action from the university’s committee.

This swift response has been widely applauded, as it reflects a leadership style rooted in accountability and responsiveness.

IAUE SUG DOS Nissi Kio Sets Record with First-Ever Freshers Orientation


The Director of Socials, Comr. Nissi Kio of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), has made history in her administration by becoming the first SUG DOS to organize an official Students’ Union Government Freshers Orientation within the institution.


The orientation is designed for all newly admitted and matriculated students of the 2025/2026 academic session, aiming to guide them and help them settle smoothly into university life.


Speaking during a media chat with Alutagossip Television, Comr. Nissi Kio stated that her administration is focused on setting standards that future Directors of Socials will follow at the SUG level.

She emphasized that from her Year One till her current position, she has never witnessed any SUG DOS host an orientation for freshers—hence her decision to initiate this landmark event.


According to her, the program is part of her commitment to leaving a lasting and positive legacy in office.

The Director of Socials, Students Union Government (SUG), Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Chapter, Comr. Nissi Kio, has once again demonstrated outstanding commitment to student welfare by providing free transportation for IAUE students.


This impactful initiative was organized to ease transportation costs within the campus and took place at the school car park on January 26th, 2026.

Shuttle buses were made available to convey students from the park to various destinations across the school premises, ensuring comfort and convenience for all.


The program was made possible through a strategic collaboration with De-Harris Hotel, whose support played a key role in the success of the initiative. Over 1,000 students benefited from this generous free shuttle service.


This remarkable effort by Comr. Nissi Kio highlights true leadership and dedication to improving the everyday experience of students on campus.

Over 500+ students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Ndele Campus benefited from the Day 1 Free Bike Ride, and it was truly a remarkable experience for the students’ community.


This thoughtful initiative, spearheaded by the NIDSUG IAUE Chapter President in collaboration with her Director of Transport, was successfully executed to ease student movement and support daily campus activities. The smiles and appreciation from students across Ndele Campus clearly showed the positive impact of this program.

King. Comr. Charles Alex, President of the National Association of Science Students (NASS), IAUE Chapter, has successfully completed a remarkable project aimed at improving the learning environment within the Science Faculty.

Driven by a passion for student welfare, the president kicked off the initiative earlier this month with a thorough inspection of classrooms and damaged furniture across the Science Village. After identifying key issues, he and his executive team took decisive action—repairing faulty chairs in all classrooms to ensure students now enjoy a more comfortable and conducive learning atmosphere.

But he didn’t stop there.

In a bold move, the team also carried out a general cleanup of the classrooms, restoring order, neatness, and a sense of pride within the faculty environment.

⚠️ Strict Warning to Students
The president has issued a firm warning to all students using the Science Village: cleanliness is now a top priority. A monitoring committee will soon be established to enforce discipline.

Any student caught dirtying the classrooms will face strict penalties:

- Pay a fine of ₦1000, or
- Clean the classrooms for one full week.

This decision comes after repeated cases of negligence and poor maintenance culture among students.
