TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Alyssax0: 9:08am On Jun 04
killaskillz:
Hi,
I am planning to sponsor my mum and dad to visit the UK for my wedding. My mum has previously been granted a UK visitor visa, but my dad's application was refused about a year ago due to concerns relating to financial misrepresentation.

I have been reviewing my dad's bank statements and noticed a number of inconsistencies. He is self-employed and has not had much business activity this year, yet there are several large transfers being made to his personal account each month. I am concerned that these transactions may raise questions during the visa assessment.

As I will be fully sponsoring their trip, what is the best way to present the application to avoid any issues arising from my dad's financial records? What supporting documents or explanations would be advisable in this situation?

Thank you in advance for your advice and assistance.
Hi killaskillz, congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Since you are fully sponsoring the trip, you should lean heavily on your own robust financial documentation to show you can cover all costs, while your dad provides a clear, honest explanation letter addressing the past refusal and the exact source of those large monthly transfers. It is crucial to accompany his bank statements with official evidence, such as business invoices, contracts, or asset sales to completely demystify those transactions and prove his strong ties to home, ensuring the ECO has no room for doubt this time.

Could anyone in the industry please explain the difference between these relatively new investment tools that allow investors invest in securities sales (offers, rights issues).

Tools like NGX Invest (by the NGX Group itself), Sabivest (by Africa Prudential), and others. Curious to understand why one would go with third-party tools instead of the official NGX Invest.

Thanks!
the primary difference lies in the ecosystem and added features each platform provides. While the official NGX Invest platform provides a direct, streamlined gateway for public offers and rights issues from the exchange itself, third-party tools like Sabivest offer an aggregated experience. Investors often choose third-party tools because they integrate broader wealth management features, such as automated savings, mutual funds, and personalized financial advisory tools that the core exchange platform doesn't offer.
