SeanT21:
Bitter leaf soup is so bitter. U are brave oo.

Here is a Nigerian recipe.

Ingredients

The following are the ingredients for Bitter Leaf Soup

1kg of assorted meat (Beef, ox tail, shaki, cow leg, goat meat)

I medium smoked fish

I big size stock fish

100grams grounded Crayfish

2 Maggi cubes

1 big sized onion

2 tablespoonfuls dried grounded red hot chilli pepper

10 tablespoonful of red palm oil

2 medium sized white cocoyam

Freshly squeezed or dried bitter leaf

Salt – ½ teaspoonfuls

1 tablespoonful of dried curry powder

½ teaspoonfuls of dried thyme leaves

10 cups of water

Servings: 5

Cooking Time : 90 minutes

Method :

Thoroughly wash the assorted meat in clean warm water. Put in a medium sized pot, add about a cup or two of water and two cubes of maggi seasoning or bullion cubes, half onion, sliced, salt to taste, little sprinkle of dried curry powder – about ½ tablespoonful, dried thyme leaves, and bring to boil for about 20 minutes.

Thoroughly wash the stock fish with sponge to remove any vestige of sand gain and allow to run under plenty of tap water. The stock fish is best soaked overnight to allow it absorb water and become tender. Cut the stock fish into servable bits and add it to the boiling meat. Allow to boil for 5 – 10 minutes.

Add the washed medium smoked fish, and allow the whole mixture of assorted meat, stock fish, and smoked fish to boil for another 5 minutes.

Now add about 4 cups of water into the pot of boiling meat and fish, and add about 1 or 2 tablespoonful of dried red hot pepper to taste and freshly squeezed or dried bitter leaf (3 to 4 balls of hand squeezed fresh bitter leaf, or 3 – 5 tablespoonful of dried bitter leaf. Allow to boil for 3 – 5 minutes.

At this point, add the palm oil, and already cooked and mashed cocoyam to thicken the soup. Where you can not get cocoyam a sprinkle of garri would do the same.

Add salt, and pepper to taste again, and allow to cook for 10 minutes.

Your bitter leaf soup is ready to eat.

Bitter leaf soup can be eaten or served with pounded yam or semolina or eba

It is not unusual to see artistes giving their fans chains, watches and other accessories while on stage. Some of the artistes even get mobbed and dispossessed of their possession while performing. However, it was the other way round for ‘Ojuelegba’ singer and Glo ambassador, Wizkid, who got a gold chain from a loyal fan at the Fourth Season of the Glo Lafftafest concert which held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, yesterday. ‘My people show me too much love man. Someone just gave me a gold chain now, and I’m so excited about it'. The Surulere-born artiste asked the audience at the show to observe one minute silence for the people who lost their life in the ghastly accident that occurred when a 40-feet container fell on a container in Ojuelegba some days ago. Meanwhile, Glo Lafftafest continues with shows in Benin, Port-Harcourt, Abuja, Ijebu- Ode, Abeoluta, and other parts of Lagos, running till November 8, 2015.

Okay, comments from the judges and most especially the Faculty were exaggerated tonight undecided
I'm still wondering what exactly Ada did with the 'My Darling' song that made Mummy Joke Silva act all vocabulary on us undecided
Arewa did brilliantly with the first song, but the second? Naaahhh...she didn't do much justice to IfeWaGbona...
Everyone is shouting Dehinde Melo Melo...Nigga didn't sing the song, he "talked" the song...Boring as far as I'm concerned.
Pearl, I don't even want to go there..lovely voice and lovely face but just a waste of space...shoulda been Oluchi or Chike filling her space
Kumi., oh well, she destroyed one of my favorite songs (her first performance) but I forgive her for doing so well with her second (call it comfort zone)

Finally, my Anderson killed, kelled, kilt, kelt and murdered both songs. The guy is just a musical genius. Really want to hear him sing Darey's 'Pray for me' on the Pfame stage.
He is in a league of his own.

Only two people did it for me tonight. Anderson and Jeff.

Anderson is my winner and Jeff my 1st runner up. All others can come behind in this order: Arewa, Dehinde and Ada.

But oh well, may the best rigger win.
my dear may God bless u n keep u for me for ds honest observation.nothing to add.wat got me laughing was mis ige's comment dat Anderson trusted ms Loveth to give his body to her,oh no!ds came out wrongly.

Yesterdays programme was okay sha

All the jugdes and faculty members were too nice on this contestants today my opinion

But please I think has good fans let's talk about this back up singers who tend to go off key when singing behind those contestants. Very annoying! angry

Kumi is good oh,I don't understand why she has few fans undecided
Please what did pearl sing abeg? I didn't feel this girl songs, I prefer her twinny to her.
Na dehinde oh lol that guy ehn seems like his voice is going or something. He needs to rest his mouth for once lipsrsealed

It seems like we may not have a nigerian winning this mtnpf this year. That's if nigerians don't rig it like they normally do.

Like someone said may the best rigger win grin
u ve missed 65 pages of action n u just made ds conclusions in one viewing.u too much jor pls check if d person below me can put u thru.

Firstly, let me say I'm team Anderson.secondly,ds is a competition n d trick is eliminate ur greatest threat and u r one step closer to d prize.thirdly, there is a Ghana factor in pf,a ghananian must reach final no matter how bad he/she performs cos it's called pf west African n must b seen as such.i sensed bibie brew coerced Anderson to return d favour done to him.fourthly,Mtn made a wrong decision in choosing Ada as d tie breaker cos it was obvious whom she would go for but lik i said,it's all about keeping a ghanian to reach d final.fiftly, welcome me bak frm my bann.

The former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obua, is affected in the latest mass purge at the State Security Service (SSS), reliable security sources have told PREMIUM TIMES.

An investigation panel led by a former director of training, recommended the dismissal of the former CSO alongside one Liman Widi, a personal assistant to the former Director General of the service, Ita Ekpenyong, for corrupt practices and playing partisan roles inimical to Service codes.

A former spokesperson of the service, Marilyn Ogar, former President Muhammadu Buhari’s CSO, Abdulrahman Mani and one Adamu, the former CSO to former DG, Ita Ekpenyong, also featured prominently in the list of personnel compulsorily retired.

Also disengaged from service are Yomi Zamba, Little John Okojie, Ahmed Abdullahi, Ibrahim Katsina, Larry Obiagwu, Abdulganiyu Dauda, Dahiru Dodo, Suleiman Dabo, among others.

A source in the service said Messrs Obua and Widi were recommended for dismissal from service for alleged involvement in oil bunkering deals.

Security sources say Mr. Obua’s explanation on the alleged $6.9 deal and oil bunkering did not satisfy the investigative panel. The panel therefore recommended them for dismissal.
Ms. Ogar, who was sacked over allegations of bribery and partisanship, was however compulsorily retired.

A notice for retirement issued to her, titled: “Retirement From Service”, read, “Following the on-going re-organisation in the Service, be informed that that your services are no longer required in the Department of State Security Service (DSS). You are therefore, retired from Service under Section 8 Rule 020806(II) of the Public Seervice Rules, 2006 wef 31st August, 2015″.

In July, Mr. Obua was rumoured to have passed away in the custody of the service after he was detained on allegations of corruption and partisanship.

He was released a few days after his lawyer raised the alarm over his failing health.

On August 29, PREMIUM TIMES reported how the former CSO allegedly conspired with the former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Minister of Petroleum to spend, in just one deal, a princely $6.9 million dollars to buy three 40-feet mobile stages for use during mass public speaking events.
Although Mr. Obua denied the story through his lawyer, Andrew Itsekiri, federal government investigators and security agencies said the deal was just one of the tons of alleged corrupt practices frequently engaged and condoned under the presidency of the immediate past president.

According to our August 29 report, apart from the fact that the amount for the stages was inflated, there was no evidence that any stage was purchased at all.

While the cost of mobile stages range in size and designs, only outlandish rock star musicians in Europe and the U.S. spend hundreds of thousands on their huge stages way bigger than the 40-feet stages. Even then, those musicians and super stars would not pay over $2m per stage, according to industry sources.

The process of procurement of the three mobile stages was neither known to extant Nigerian laws and due process regulations, nor were the offices of the Auditor-General and the Accountant-General in the know, according to investigators.

If I didn't like the way he's going so far, I wouldn't still be here or maybe I would've withdrawn my support. I want corrupt people brought to book. I'm passionate about this because I've watched people suffer and even qualified persons unemployed due to impunity and lack of empathy of the previous governments. I wanna see political criminals suffer like the suffering Nigerians. Many of them need to rot in the dirtiest part of jail for what they did to this country, to our youths, to the future of this nation, especially those who didn't do anything significant but looted so much, but some will need pardon and mercy if they did very good and looted little. I wanna see it all, and I'm not ready to see Buhari get distracted or pinned to a corner by critics. They need fire the way they promised it this government. Once Buhari starts rolling out his good plans for this nation, I'll retire with gladness and conclude a victory achieved. That's my take.
I feel ur passion.my concern is for his campaign promises to come to fruition n he shud spread his tentacles in fighting d corruption else it will appear as a witch hunt.
