Honestly, it's your life not his. You're the one that'll go to uni, you're the one that'll write the exams. After you graduate, you're the one with that profession. I'd advice you to go with what you want even if it means waiting another year. In life it's good to please people we love but not risking our own happiness in the process. I don't think he'll actually turn against you if your persistent, there may be some conflict but in the long run he'll come around. You shouldn't study what you don't have love or passion for.

She just not comfortable with you. I've been around shy peeps and after like a month of interacting with them they begin to loosen up. Unless she's majorly introverted. But still after over a year she should be able to look and talk to you freely.

It's so sad you had to go through this as a child. I understand having a parent who makes himself seem like a god and you not good enough. I don't have one but I'm very close to someone that does. Her dad cheated with her mum with so many women and didn't even make it hidden. He constantly praised himself and his 'achievements' while making her seem like a failure. Name-calling, belittling, ridiculing and abusing for every little error was also common and I noticed it had messed with her self esteem, confidence and happiness as an adult. Sadly this does happen in some Nigerian homes and I've observed most people think it's okay.

I'm in a similar situation as your wife but our parents didn't introduce us.

We met in school and dated for 4 years.
My husband chased me like a possessed person.
We've done trad and I got pregnant and that was when he realized he doesn't love me.

I've been carrying my pregnancy alone but with love from his family and mine.
I'm not sure I can forgive him if he eventually comes back for reconciliation.

We don't live together and I haven't seen him for like 5 months.
I'm 8 months gone, have a good job can take care of myself and my baby.

My God spare us from devilish men like you and my husband.
