NURSES

Duties of the job include:

Assessing and planning nursing care requirements
Providing pre- and post-operation care
Monitoring and administering medication and intravenous infusions
Taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures
Writing records
Supervising junior staff
Organizing workloads
Providing emotional support to patients and relatives

Typical work activities

Providing Primary care to patients in outpatient clinic;
Monitoring and providing Diabetic care to patients in outpatient clinic;
Caring for Patients requiring special needs followed by investigations and treatment;
Examining and talking to patients to diagnose their medical conditions;
Carrying out specific procedures;
Making notes and preparing paperwork, both as a legal record of treatment and for the benefit of other healthcare professionals;
Working with other doctors as part of a team, either in the same department or within other specialties;
Liaising with other medical and non-medical staff in the Clinic to ensure quality treatment;
Promoting health education in an NGO platform;


Other Responsibilities
Provide appropriate records based on the assessment of the patient's condition, based on the history and physical examination;
Provide for appropriate treatment;
Keep clear, accurate, medical records which report the relevant clinical findings, the decisions made, and any drugs or treatment given;
Keep management informed on the care given to patients;
Pay due regard to efficacy and the use of resources;
Prescribe drugs, treatments and appliances that will serve the patient's needs.
Abide by the hospital rules, protocols and standard practice.



EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

MBBS from a recognized Institution. Any professional qualification will be an added advantage
A minimum of 2 years post-NYSC work experience as a General Practitioner in a reputable Clinic/Hospital settings.
Board certification and licensing a must
