Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by amoese: 11:10am On Aug 27, 2018 |
Good morning, please I am about to apply for my masters in Canada, I plan to apply for two years work leave from the office. My question is, at the point of applying for Visa, should I get the work leave first before the visa application or I can apply for the visa and let them know that I intend to get a work leave from my office. The reason I want to do the latter is that in case I don't get the visa I can continue with work. Kindly advice please. Thank you. |

My IELTS score LSWR 8.5,7.5,6.0,8.0. I am so down right now, I can't believe BC messed up my result. If there was any subject i was concerned about was my speaking and not writing. Based on testimonies of some people in the group I have decided to go to their office on Monday to apply for a remark on my writing. |

cochtrane: In order to not jeopardize your chances, don't ask him for consent. Instead, inform him you are making a move to claim full custody of the child and get a lawyer to tell him this. Have the lawyer arrange all the documents for him to sign. Effectively, he'll be "giving consent" this way without knowing. Don't mention Canada to him. Else he may just decide to frustrate your plans.
In summary, make a move to legally obtain full custody of your kid. Thank you. |

Justiyke4u: Why she simply tweet IRCC and direct her confusion to them I'm sure they will advise her properly and she can then save the tweet for future reference in case there is any need to. Thank you. I will do that. |

bigfido: I truly feel gutted for you. He's just being a terrible person. I think you should speak to an immigration lawyer about the situation. I might be wrong with my speculation. I pray your dreams come through. I also feel you can file for sole custody just to be on the safe side as well. Men, we need to do better really. Thank you. |

bbaby84: I am laughing in Swahili.... story for the gods.
If I even read her post well sef she's responsible for the child and the supposed babydaddy is married and has his own family. She has gone to Canada sef as in 'already' like my daughter would say. Just consult a lawyer and make it AIRTIGHT perhaps full parental rights from the courts. Your application may just take longer because they'll verify but you'll be okay. Thank you dear. I will definitely consult a lawyer to be on the safe side. |

koonlay5: In addition, she can swear an affidavit at a Fed High Court, stating she has never been married, has a child, has lost contact with the father and effort to trace him prove abortive I haven't lost touch with him, I know where him and his family lives ( he is now married). He has long abandoned his responsibilities as a father and i have decided to ignore because I am tired of fighting with him over that. I have been taking care of my son and I just want to know what to do so i won't have any issue with my application. I feel he might refuse to give his consent not because he really cares but out of wickedness. |

CIC has only the following categories... Single/Married/Separated/Divorced/Widowed. There's no space for "Complicated/Ex-lover/BabyDaddy!"
All she has to do is simply fill single (unless they were at some point married, then any of the other legal definitions (separated/divorced) will apply). And she is legally free to include her son as a dependant. He does afterall have a birth certificate that states father and mother, so d woman isnt misrepresenting any detail. Where trouble will exist is if she intentionally mis-states his paternity on the birth certificate...by leaving him out or using someone else (which is another story). Thank you for your input. He has a birth certificate with the father's name on it. Like i said never been married. I guess when I get to the bridge I will finally know what to do. Thank you all. |

bigfido: I truly do feel sorry for your plight. Please to aviod stories that will cause future issues for you, get his consent if you can. You don't want a man writing the embassy requesting for his son or even suing after you have traveled. At that point, it will be clear you have misrepresented and we know how they deal with misrepresentation. My advice is you should talk to a proper immigration lawyer to guide you on your options. Don't let our guessing here put you into trouble in the future. Whether he takes responsibility or not, he is still the father of the boy.
Cheers Thank you. I guess I may end up contacting him and pray he gives his consent without making a big deal out of it. |

ANBAKO: I don't think being a single parent limit chances of PPR. She must be ready to answer a lot of questions. A major proactive step is getting the written consent of the father at hand so that there will be no long stories later. Let me add that Canada is very "sympathetic" to women somehow (don't quote me though).
Good luck! In my case I am a single mom never being married. My son is 13 years and his father is married. I have been taking all responsibilities, can't I apply without the father's consent? We don't really get along. |

Hi, I live in Abuja not too far from their office. I can help you go to their office send me an email with your details and POP, zabizashengum@gmail.com[s][/s] Kyaggy: Good day house, Please I need advice and help now, I finally got my cousin who banks with GTB to help me pay online which she did, sent screenshots which I mailed to British Council. But BC didn't reply me after 48hrs and I resent the proof of payment to them again with explanation that I have payed and still waiting for their confirmation, immediately I sent this second mail, I got an automated mail saying " they are attending to too many people, I should not send another mail that they will attend to all." Just midnight I got a mail from them saying the exam I booked has been cancelled because I didn't pay. I'm confused and angry now. Have tried to call their customer service line since they ain't replying mails but it's not connecting from where I am. And the person that paid on my behalf is a banker who can not leave her bank to another bank during weekdays, please what do I do? I just tired of this whole thing. |

MrOba: Thank you. This was the exact same thing he told me. In that case, does it mean I wont have the TB certificate since my fund will just be part of the N50m? you will still be entitled to a certificate which is usually sent to your email but you can still request for one from your account officer if you didn't get it in your mail. |

studyexec: In addition to what Dammiehar has said: If the diploma was obtained after your BSc and study time was 1 year or more, you should consider evaluating it to get points for '2 or more degrees' For the POF, you should include a LOE and attach evidence of purchase and then sale of the land and car, payment receipts, etc. I also have to sell a land for funds, but I have piu read somewhere that landed property may be accepted....probably for some provinces though. Not certain so I intend to ask CIC for clarification soon. I got the diploma before the degree. When you find out about the landed property let me know please I would rather present the documents than sell it. Thank you. |

Dammiehar: You need to provide reference letter for every work experience you claim points for, you only need 3 years to claim maximum points for work. You might want to retain any work that you can't get reference for in your personal history. I am not sure you need to evaluate your diploma, BSc is enough, to avoid stress, as they might not evaluate your diploma as another certificate. Birth Certificate is what you need to prove that you are your son's mother. Funds do not have to be in your account for 6 months, just prove where it came from. Thank you Dammiehar. |

Good morning house,I want to specially thank Zandora for creating this thread God bless you and for everyone that have selflessly contributed. I am writing my IELTS next month and I pray I excel I have started practicing. I am a banker by profession with 4 years plus experience and in total I have 7 years working experience having worked in two other places. I have a diploma and Bsc cert both in accounting. My questions are if am to put the 3 places I have worked as part of my working experience do I need to get references from them?, also do I need to get a transcript for both my diploma and bsc certificate?. secondly I am a single mom and I am applying for myself and son he is 13years, apart from his birth certificate am I presenting anything of his?. Thirdly my POF might not show funds being there for 6 months as I intend selling a landed property and my car will that be an issue? especially since I will show documents to prove source of funds. Please I will appreciate experts in the house to assist. Thank you. |
