As if that wasn’t enough despair to contend with, the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai too came out to say the reason the insurgents were doing well against the Nigerian Army was because his men at the warfront were not committed. What a leader there is!
Yet, insecurity has continued to escalate in all parts of the country, as parents, according to UNICEF, are now afraid to send their wards to school for obvious reasons. If Buhari does not know that he should rejig the current security architecture, those around him should say so for posterity. The bill he recently signed into law on National Institute of Security Studies is a long time approach. But something must be done in the immediate and fast too.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday re-arraigned an American, Marco Ramirez, at an Ikeja Special Offences Court for allegedly defrauding three Nigerians of $1.2 million on the pretext of securing green cards for them.
Ramirez was re-arraigned before Justice Mojisola Dada on an amended 12-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining under false pretence.
Ramirez was arraigned alongside his companies – USA Now LLC; Eagle Ford Instalodge Group LP and USA Now Capital Group.
The EFCC said that Ramirez committed the offences between February 2013 and August 2013 in Lagos.
Ramirez is alleged to have defrauded Ambassador Godson Echejue, Mr Abubakar Umar and Mr Olukayode Sodimu of the money.
The offences contravene Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, No. 14 of 2006.
The American and his companies were previously arraigned in June 22, 2017 before Justice Josephine Oyefeso, on a 16-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining under false pretence.

Abdullahi said the hoodlums, who rode to the town on motorcycles, operated unchallenged for many hours because it was raining heavily, and that many people in the town were not aware of what was going on.

He added that efforts made by some residents to inform the security agencies of what was happening were unsuccessful because the downpour disrupted network services.
