The Lagos State Police Command has announced with deep sorrow the passing of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, who until his death served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, DCP Salihu passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026.

The Command described the late officer as a highly dedicated, disciplined, and committed senior police officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with exceptional professionalism, loyalty, and integrity throughout his distinguished career.

The statement noted that DCP Salihu was renowned for his diligence, exemplary leadership, and unwavering commitment to duty. His vast experience, administrative expertise, and invaluable contributions significantly enhanced the management and operational efficiency of the Lagos State Police Command.

Reacting to the sad development, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on behalf of officers and personnel of the Command, expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of the deceased.

“The news of his demise came as a profound shock and a painful loss to the officers and men of the Command,” the statement read.

The Command prayed for Almighty God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and to grant the departed officer eternal rest.

DCP Khan Salihu will be remembered for his humility, professionalism, dedication, and selfless service to the nation. His legacy of commitment and service remains an inspiration to officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.

He is survived by family members, colleagues, and associates who continue to mourn his passing.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
