2025, in perspective 2025 was a year of sustained, deliberate work. For most of the year, my focus was on developing the Nigeria Health Workforce Profile—a long, iterative process of consolidating fragmented datasets, aligning indicators, and translating workforce data into something usable for planning and policy. It was the kind of work that rewards consistency more than urgency. Toward the end of the year, I served as a Data Analyst on the Nigeria Health Labour Market Analysis (HLMA). Closing the year with this work was fitting—it brought together many of the analytical, policy, and systems-level skills I’d been building throughout the year. Alongside this, I taught 300+ learners across 10 countries and delivered multiple local and international trainings and engagements, reinforcing the importance of practical, context-aware use of data in public health. I also valued the opportunity to work and exchange ideas with professionals across FMOH, CHAI, and WHO—exposure that strengthened how I think about evidence, institutions, and decision-making. 2025 wasn’t about intensity; it was about continuity. Doing the work thoroughly, finishing strong, and setting a solid base for what comes next.

Which products are sold most and least often? Which drive the most revenue for the business? DATA SOURCE #https://mavenanalytics.io/data-playground?page=4&pageSize=5 DATA CLEANING AND PREPARATION 1. Loaded the dataset into PowerQuery to check for data consistency and accuracy. 2. Created a new measure for total sales using the following:. Total Sales = SUMX(Transactions,Transactions[unit_price]*Transactions[transaction_qty]) 3. Created a new measure for number of transactions No of Transaction = COUNTROWS(Transactions) 4. Created a date table with calender = CALENDAR(MIN(Transactions[transaction_date]),MAX(Transactions[transaction_date])) and also generated the following columns on the date table a.Day number = day no = WEEKDAY(calender[Date],2) b.month name = FORMAT(calender[Date],”mmm”) c.Month no = MONTH(calender[Date]) d.week name = SWITCH(TRUE(),calender[day no]=1,”Monday”,calender[day no]=2,”Tuesday”,calender[day no]=3,”Wednesday”,calender[day no]=4,”Thursday”,calender[day no]=5,”Friday”,calender[day no]=6,”Saturday”,calender[day no]=7,”Sunday”) e.year = YEAR(calender[Date]) INSIGHTS 1). Monthly Sales Trends June had the highest total sales ($166,486), with sales more than double (118.64% higher) those of February, which had the lowest total sales ($76,145). 2). Daily Transaction Times The majority of transactions occur between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, indicating a morning rush hour for coffee sales. 3). High Transaction Days Fridays, Thursdays, and Mondays are peak days for transactions, suggesting higher customer engagement at the beginning and end of the workweek. 4). Product Contribution Coffee contributes to nearly half (42.47%) of the total transaction quantity, indicating its significant role in sales. 5). Statistical Difference in Sales by Location The Kruskal-Wallis test reveals a statistically significant difference in total sales across all locations, suggesting that some locations perform better than others. RECOMMENDATIONS 1). Leverage Morning Rush Hour: Given that most transactions occur between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, consider offering special promotions or bundled deals during this time to attract more customers. You could introduce a “Morning Special” with discounts on popular items like pastries or breakfast sandwiches when purchased with coffee. 2). Target High-Transaction Days: Fridays, Thursdays, and Mondays are the busiest days for transactions. Design targeted marketing campaigns for these days to further increase customer engagement. Consider loyalty programs, “happy hour” discounts, or themed events to encourage customers to visit more frequently. 3). Promote Coffee Sales: With coffee accounting for 42.47% of the total transaction quantity, there’s an opportunity to focus marketing efforts on this product. We should experiment with different coffee blends, limited-time flavors, or specialty drinks to increase customer interest. Additionally, consider offering coffee-related merchandise, like mugs or coffee accessories, to boost sales. 4). Enhance Customer Experience: Since high transaction times coincide with morning rush hours, we could consider ways to improve the customer experience during these periods. Streamline the checkout process, offer mobile ordering, or set up additional staff to reduce wait times. A positive experience during busy times can lead to repeat business and customer loyalty. 5). Cross-Selling and Upselling Opportunities: With coffee being a key product, identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling. For example, suggest breakfast items to customers purchasing coffee, or offer add-ons like flavored syrups or extra shots of espresso. Train staff to recommend complementary products to boost average transaction value.
