Most Nigerians dismiss opportunities before they understand them.

This isn't one of those "click here and become a millionaire tomorrow" schemes. The eBook explains a real business model that thousands of people around the world already use. More importantly, it focuses on the biggest challenge Nigerians face: payment restrictions and access to global platforms.

You don't have to believe me. Read it, challenge the ideas, test the strategies, and judge the results for yourself.

The internet has created more millionaires in the last 20 years than many traditional industries. The question is not whether money can be made online. The question is whether you're willing to learn the skills that make it possible.

Those who learn early usually benefit the most.

Literature/Writing Ads › Re: The Real Reason Naija Marriages Are Crashing (and What Nobody Tells You) by Anderson042(op): 12:14pm On Jul 12
Want to know the #1 reason Naija couples argue about money?

It's not that there isn't enough. It's that nobody agreed on a split system.

50/50 sounds fair until the lower earner is left with nothing after bills. The better way? Percentage-based. If you earn 40% of the household income, you pay 40% of the bills. Your partner pays the rest. Simple.

That's just ONE script from 'The New Naija Marriage' ebook.

The full book also gives you scripts for dealing with your mother-in-law, handling the 'submission' conversation without losing yourself, and fighting fair without drawing blood.

Literature/Writing Ads › The Real Reason Naija Marriages Are Crashing (and What Nobody Tells You) by Anderson042(op): 12:05pm On Jul 12
Na so Tolu take enter house that evening. Third Mainland don hold her for two hours. Generator don finish fuel. NEPA bill wey triple don land for table. Her husband Dapo dey look am like say she suppose know wetin do. Then im mama call come ask why Tolu never greet her well that week. Dinner? Wetin be dinner?

Nobody do anything wrong that evening. Tolu and Dapo are good people. The problem is they walked into marriage carrying two completely different manuals one from their parents' generation, and one from Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube couples.

Nobody ever sat them down to merge the two.

That's the real story behind most Naija marriages today. Whether you grew up in Surulere, Kaduna, or just came back from abroad, you're not choosing between "tradition" and "modern." You're trying to build something in between a version that respects where you're from without asking either partner to shrink to fit it.

The 3 Biggest Wahala in Naija Marriages Today

1. Money and Bills
Who pays what? How do you split when one person earns more? What about black tax? The old "man pays everything" rule no longer matches reality. But the new 50/50 rule? That one can leave the lower earner with nothing left at the end of the month. Nobody teaches couples a better way.

2. Your Mothers (and Fathers)
Your parents shaped you. They funded you. They prayed for you. But the moment one partner sides with their own mother against their spouse in front of family, that spouse learns they're outnumbered in their own home. That memory doesn't fade quickly.

3. Submission and Gender Roles
One word. A thousand different definitions. Depending on your church, your family, or your Twitter feed, "submission" can mean anything from "mutual respect" to "do whatever your husband says without question." Most couples never actually sit down and compare what they think it means until they're already fighting about it.

The Solution? Real Scripts, Not Theory

I got tired of seeing couples I genuinely respect tearing each other apart over things that could be fixed with one honest conversation. So I wrote a book.

It's called "The New Naija Marriage: How to Build a Partnership That Works for Both of You."

It's not vague encouragement to "communicate more." It gives you actual scripts you can use tonight.

Here's What's Inside

· Chapter 1: The Bills Conversation How to split expenses based on income percentage, not 50/50, so money stops being a weapon in your marriage. (This chapter is included below for free read it and use it immediately.)
· Chapter 2: Rethinking "Submission" How to define roles that respect your culture and your partner without either person losing themselves.
· Chapter 3: Managing Your Mothers (And Fathers) How to love your parents without letting them run your home. Includes a script you can use when mama calls asking why you haven't "greeted" properly.
· Chapter 4: Keep the Matchbox Sparking How to protect intimacy when work, Lagos traffic, children, and church programs are draining you both.
· Chapter 5: Fighting Fair Three rules that keep disagreements from turning into war. Agree on them on a calm Sunday afternoon, not in the middle of a heated Tuesday night argument.
· Chapter 6: Raising Children With One Voice Why your children don't need you to agree on everything they just need you to look unified when it counts.
· Bonus: Your Naija Marriage Toolkit Five scripts you can copy, paste, and use. Plus a simple bill-split formula you can apply tonight.

Free Chapter: The Bills Conversation

"Two people wey dey struggle to pay one bill no be partnership na survival. Partnership na when both hands dey lift the same load, each according to wetin e get."

Let's go back to that NEPA bill. In many Naija homes, the unspoken rule used to be simple: the man pays, full stop, and the woman "manages" whatever she's given. That rule is fading not because tradition is bad, but because it no longer matches reality. Today, in a huge number of homes, both partners earn, and often the woman earns more.

The mistake most couples make isn't about money itself it's about the model they use to split it. Straight 50/50 sounds fair until you sit with the actual numbers. If one partner earns ₦250,000 a month and the other earns ₦750,000, a strict 50/50 split on rent and bills leaves the lower earner with almost nothing left over, while the higher earner barely feels it.

There's also a quiet factor nobody puts in the budget spreadsheet: black tax. If you're the one sending money home to aging parents or a younger sibling's school fees, a "fair" 50/50 split isn't actually fair once you account for what's already leaving your account before rent is even paid.

A better model: percentage-of-income.

Add both incomes together, then each person contributes that same percentage of their own income toward shared costs rent, light bill, feeding, generator fuel, transport.

Example:

· You earn ₦400,000. Your spouse earns ₦600,000.
· Total household income: ₦1,000,000.
· You cover 40% of shared bills. Your spouse covers 60%.
· Whatever's left after that is each person's own for savings, family obligations, or that thing you've been wanting to buy and haven't mentioned yet.

This isn't about turning your marriage into an accounting firm. It's about removing money as a weapon or a scoreboard, so it stops being the argument underneath every other argument.

Try This Script:

Instead of: "You never help with bills"

Try: "Can we sit down this weekend and actually add up what we both earn and spend? I want us to have one system so this stops being a monthly argument."

Key Takeaway:

Money conversations go wrong when they're really about something else respect, fairness, who's "winning." Fix the system once, review it every few months as incomes change, and the bill itself stops being personal.

If You Want the Rest...

That free chapter above is already enough to start saving your marriage thousands of Naira in monthly arguments. But if you want the complete book Chapters 2 to 6 covering in-laws, submission, fighting fair, raising children, intimacy, plus the Bonus Toolkit with all the scripts ready to copy and use you can grab the full version here:

https://selar.com/30488u33b3

It's a small token for the value, but honestly, even if you only read the free chapter above and apply the 60/40 split with your spouse tonight, you've already gained something most couples never learn.

PS: This book is for everyday friction money, in-laws, chores, communication. If your relationship involves any form of abuse, this book isn't the right tool. Please reach out to a professional or a trusted support service instead.

Drop your thoughts below. If you've ever had a "Tolu and Dapo" moment in your own marriage, tell us how you handled it or how you wish you had handled it. Let's gist.

"I am talking about two sides of the same lie men obsessing over size, women obsessing over ticking all the boxes. Both leave us hollow because the real answer was never about the checklist. It's about connection, presence, and shedding the performance. I just posted something for the guys, and also something for the women. This is the kind of conversation we need more of. The locker-room talk is usually just noise. The truth is, confidence is built in communication, not centimeters. Most men are walking around with this heavy feeling for nothing. If you’ve ever felt that knot in your stomach when this topic comes up, this book is for you. 📌"

For anyone scrolling past this stop letting a produced video dictate your self-worth. Studies consistently show that most women rate emotional connection and rhythm way higher than size. The shame comes from silence, not from reality. This book looks like it actually tackles the psychological side of the pressure, which is where the real damage is done. If this helps one guy stop comparing himself to a camera angle, it's worth it."

Most men have wondered about this at some point. Some go quiet about it. Some avoid getting close to someone because of it. Some quietly compare themselves to porn, locker-room talk, or exaggerated internet claims and walk away feeling like they don't measure up.

"This is the conversation nobody wants to start but every man needs to hear. The gap between what porn shows and what real women actually want is massive. It’s not about the inches it’s about the attentiveness, the connection, and the confidence to communicate. Men are walking around with anxiety over something the average partner genuinely doesn't prioritize. Respect for putting this out therewe need to kill this stigma

Anderson042:
Nairaland, I don't usually do this, but I need to put this out there.

I spent 10 years chasing every milestone. First-class degree. Manager title. My own apartment. The car. I checked every box society gave me. And last Tuesday, I sat in my living room with everything I "wanted" and felt absolutely nothing.

I started writing to make sense of it. Just raw, unfiltered thoughts about why success felt so empty. That late-night writing turned into a 50-page PDF that I've only shared with my closest friends. Their response shocked me they all said the same thing: "I thought I was the only one."

So I decided to share it openly.

It's called "Reclaimed" a raw, honest look at what happens when women break every barrier and still feel broken inside.

No motivational fluff. No "hustle harder" nonsense. Just the truth about what culture stole from us and how to take it back.
