Ok. . .makes sense!

Do you see the world ready to accept such feat?
well....first of all there are ethical considerations and the whole program needs to be tightly regulated....the first world is ready and africa will come around with time

the scientific world is certainly ready and extensive work is already ongoing with Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (ICs) and Human Embryos in certain research centers

Here in Africa we are pioneering research work on the use of Human Erythroid Progenitor Stem Cells (EPSCs) and K562 and JK 1 cell lines to bring about amelioration to millions of sufferers with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)

I will not deny that I do not understand this. . .

hmmm...ok let me try and break this down......ZFNs and TALENs are enzymes that are used for cutting DNA and were employed extensively in the 1990s and early 2000s but they have a major draw back.....they do not cut DNA at precise points.....and this could lead to development of abnormalities like cancer.....CRISPR/CAS 9 enzyme system cuts DNA at precise points and thus it is a far better technology. when we say murine models it means research work that has been conducted on mice. In mice research, a single stem cell can readily take up one or two copies of Corrected DNA segments (or genes) and thus the high success rates noted here.....but in human embryos or stem cells....the ability to take may be 1/100 of this and thus the higher failure rates.... for now....but the technology is improving and we can get there in less than 5 years...and the chinese will probably spearhead this breakthrough (i believe those working in the USA have a better chance)

China Again?

yes China.....i strongly believe believe the chinese will lead the way in this gene editing research and sectors because the chinese work like mad!
A top notch american professor will have about 500 research publicatrions to his name but a top notch chinese professor in the US will have about 4000!

CRISPR/CAS9 enzyme system developed in 2012 is far better than ZFNs and TALENs for gene editing....the problem lies with the fact human embryos or IPSCs or even EPSCs do not readily take up this modified DNA segments (and thus are less successful) when compared to murine models...thus the high failure rate. Till we get to the stage whereby we can overcome this challenge....gene editing on stem cells ex vivo remains the best bet

PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 7:39pm On Mar 30, 2015
we are ready to make a call.....PDP will win the election with at least 500,000 votes...the magic block votes as reported earlier have started coming in....you may ask how...PDP needed to nil the margins from the NW and NE and go ahead....collectively as of now 6.7 million votes:

SW votes only gave APC about 600,000 votes margin

adding that to the margins in both NW and NE (6.1 million)....total 6.7 million votes

how can PDP overcome?

Rivers ....1.4 million

akwa ibom....approx 1 milllion

enugu 550,000

anambra approx 650,000

abia.....400,000

bayelsa......approx 400,000

we are projecting the margins in this SE/SS to be

cross river 400,000

imo....800,000

ebonyi....400,000

delta......800,000

total margin.....7.2 million

if APC can overcome this margin....they will win.....but we believe it is over

NC wasnt factored here....because it is approx 50/50 as of now
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 10:30am On Mar 30, 2015
ongoing analysis.....factoring the results officially released by INEC from oyo, ogun, ekiti, kogi, kano, jigawa.....the gap is at 3.4 million plus votes, a deficiency of 8.6 million votes...waiting for katsina, sokoto, kebbi, zamfara, borno etc.....we will be able to call the election if we get this results from INEC
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 10:06am On Mar 30, 2015
onfolding analysis....for APC to win the presidential election...the gap( i.e the difference in votes between PDP and APC) in the votes they will receive in the SW, NW,NE and the states they win in NC MUST exceed at least 12 million votes....as of now...it is not happening
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 9:40am On Mar 30, 2015
ok...pls then try and counter my analysis with facts based on released results

Volksfuhrer:
In my view I smell sabotage! The failure of card readers in the SS and SE is just too convenient!

Nevertheless, PDP will still lose this Presidential election! End of Story.
my brother relax....as of now the maths dont add up for apc yet!
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 9:02am On Mar 30, 2015
below points have been their strategy

close the gap in the SW........achieved (note also problem in SW.....voter turnout approaching 25% against PVC)

come out tops in the NC........achieving that

used the block votes from the SS and SE (with high voter turnout against PVC collected) to nill out the votes in the NW and NE (which is currently trending 30 to 40% votes against PVC collected) and pull ahead
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 8:51am On Mar 30, 2015
And watch out for this scenario.....the block votes from the SS and SE will start coming out when KANO ..the biggest state and perhaps JIGAWA and KATSINA is announced..(these are in the NW)
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 8:34am On Mar 30, 2015
gists:
I am not sure 25% for apc in rivers and other SS/SE states is essential. From the look of things apc will get more than 25% of at least 24 other states, so apc doesn't need 25% in this region. My main concern is turnout ratio compared with pvcs collected.
Inec didn't do anything to above average turn out in SS/SE in 2011. since it looks like card readers were not used, do you think inec will investigate unusually high turnout rates this time? I think not
INEC will not investigate this and I think this is what PDP all long has been banking on to win and what gives them confidence....it is their ace card!
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 8:32am On Mar 30, 2015
the analysis above was similar to what Silver NAtes in the USA used to call the election for obama in contrast to other analysts!......block votes and high voter turnout among blacks and other minorities approaching 90 plus % and low voter turnout among whites....similar scenario is happening here in nigeria and people are not observing this fact unfolding
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 8:23am On Mar 30, 2015
in my view what tipped this election in favor of PDP was the failure of the card readers in the SS and SE thereby allowing manual accreditation!
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 8:21am On Mar 30, 2015
intelligent and sincere people should take note of this scenario!!.....as things stand now in both imo and rivers....APC is not approaching the 25 % benchmark.......and the turn out in NW (that is against PVC collected...is not looking goog for APC if you use the kano numbers as a pointer)....if my analysis holds true...PDP will win
PoliticsRe: APC Vs PDP: The Battle For The President . Check This Interesting Analysis by andico34: 8:14am On Mar 30, 2015
i said this on the thread cramjones opened......intelligent people that are sincere should take note of this scenario.....as things stand now...the numbers dont add up for APC
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 7:57am On Mar 30, 2015
it is the above scenario that PDP is banking on to win
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 7:54am On Mar 30, 2015
andico34:
in the SW alone it is even less than 25% against PVC collected....this should be a worrying concern for APC!...and with what is coming from the NW (though not all results have been released)....it will not be good for APC if those block votes from SS and SE start coming in.....pointer look at AKwa ibom senatorial district where gov akpabio won.....the votes approach 90% or more of PVC collected and if the presidency votes match that....APC might be in trouble
dear nairalanders watch this quote...if PDP ultimately wins this will be the reason!.
PoliticsRe: Why It Is Too Late To Rig - Cramjones by andico34: 7:47am On Mar 30, 2015
gists:
This is only correct for SW. So far, no northern state has released any full result. So you can't conclude turnout rate in NW base on partial result.
But it is a major concern.

It will not work. You didn't watch on AIT when they were reporting that there is a massive turn out in Borno, sokoto, Bauachi and Gombe? And with your 100% turn out, you still don't stand a chance of winning
@gists is stating facts!....turnout in the SW and NW currently ranges between 30 to 40% if you take the average of the 2 regions.....the maths wont add up for apc if the block votes come in from SS and SE.....watch for this trend and fact...this is what will tip the election

superneutral:
Basically what a presidential candidate needs to be
declared winner is 25% in 24 states including FCT...
From the exit polls,we've received,APC will definitely get
more than 25% in these 24 states even if they don't get up
to 25% in any of the Eastern states and the south-South
states..
Lagos,Oyo,Ogun,Osun,Ondo,KwaraKogi,Benue,Nasa
rawa,Niger,Kebbi,
Sokoto,Zamfara,Katsina
Kaduna,Kano,Jigawa,Bauchi,Gombe
Yobe,Borno,Adamawa,Taraba and
Abuja..
APC has already got more than 25% in Ekiti...
If you do the data analysis of PVC distribution in APC
strongholds against PDP's,APC will definitely record higher
number of total votes no matter what happens in the East
and South-South..
APC votes in the North-West alone will cancel out all
PDP's votes in the East and South-South even if they
record 100%...
this is not fact...percentage of voter turn out against PVC collected in the NW and SW ranges between 30 -40%...you can check for facts...if the percentage turnout in SS and SE approaches 90 to 95% against PVC collected....APC will be in trouble....lets be sincere
PoliticsRe: PDP Wins Enugu LG By Landslide by andico34: 12:02am On Mar 30, 2015
the above quote is what will decide the election!......if it remains true that the turn out in both NW and SW ranges between 30 to 40% and the turn out in SS/SE approaches 90 to 95 % of PVCs collected.....APC will lose the election

Which 10million Votes? I ve been monitoring the figures coming out from SW and NW. Its been more of 30-40% voter turn out. Watch out for the SS/SE figures when they come out. Dont shout
this is true and one of the best posts on this thread!.....watch out for turn out and the percentages against the PVCs collected!
