ExpertNLer: I can confirm that Petroleum Engineers who did medicals were called this last week. I don't know about other disciplines though, but looking at the thread here, some were called as well. Earth Scientists who had done medicals more than 12 months ago were also contacted to fill a medical update form earlier in the week. I reckon the recruitment has started to pick up steam. Historically it takes Chevron about 2-3 weeks to provide next steps/update.
Let's see what happens after Salah break. The Salah break is over, any latest update on this? Thanks most reliable…. |

Fredjafar: From what I heard, when the reorg is concluded, vacuum will be created. I was told the reorg is concluded, however the vacuum created is still within the top tier positions like supervisors, etc. These vacuum have to be filled to shift it down to the bottom tier hence creating openings for the new recruits. The top tier vacuum haven't been filled yet Are you saying they are done with this? Because some people here has confirmed receiving calls from Chevron, but no one here even know the content or details of the calls. Let's see how it plays over the months... |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Andrenalin: 8:32pm On May 05 |
Alaprom: I thought pple did medical at Chevron's facility. What does being asked to update medical information mean? In Chevron, once your medical is over a year, you will had to renew it (update it). I believe those that have done it a year ago are mandated to do it again since it has been a year ago they did it. |

Alaprom: Imagine...one year ago? It's well. I think you've said it all, just pray and hope that by God's grace the little hope left isn't dashed. Truth is with the way things are, closure within this year is in doubt. The re-org affected and slowed things down. A contact said the only reason the recruitment is still on the table and may be considered later is because it started before the re-org. If it started much later, they would have drawn the curtains. Calm down, it’s part of the reorg, and it’s closing alongside with it…. Believe this, it is 100% on. Just be patient a bit. |

Optimist2023: It's really as have been said. Nobody knows anything here in CNL. I did medicals a year ago last week. The way we were been hurried then to fly to Lagos for medicals, I thought we would resume immediately. I contacted the person that was liaising with us during medicals but he is also unaware. He says what I know, is what he knows. The slight assurance he gave me was that they would get back to us, whether or not the recruitment is concluded or cancelled. I don't know what's happening at HQ, my only hope right now is God. You can imagine…. Anyway you are good to go , Jst relax I believe you will be contacted soon. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Andrenalin: 9:23am On Feb 11 |
Winchman: How on this planet will new hires go straight to Escravos? How many of those roles are field based? Additionally, nobody ever said that this recruitment stalled because of office spaces. Just to be clear, I said that office spaces are being arranged for the PE & ES folks who will be onboarded soon. There's no regular employee of CVX who doesn't know about the reorg. The reorg is the fundamental reason for this delay. I think many here didn’t understand you before now, thanks for the detail explanation… |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Andrenalin: 11:29am On Feb 08 |
Winchman: Good question. However, I will not be disclosing my source. All you have to do is wait and see if this happens or not. They are currently looking for office spaces for the would be new hires. Post-restructuring, CVX mostly hot desks, so, many people do not have designated workspaces now. Thanks a lot for the update… finger crossed! |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Andrenalin: 12:22am On Feb 06 |
Winchman: This is very incorrect. Chevron will complete this recruitment. In a matter of weeks, some PE & ES candidates will resume. Your 'retired' source is spreading old wives tales, they should remain retired. You are right…. Those retired and even current staffs don’t even have any update of the recruitment, everything decision lies on the HR, not normal employee that is waiting for salary…. |

CandyOps: Without even concluding the reading I already knew he was an “Omo ibo” as you guys would say here in Lagos.
Them too dey carry “make Naija better” for head… Not because na them e dey affect pass but because them self know that they could do a lot better than this.
Country wey be say the dream of almost every young person na to comot the country. Mtchew
Well I believe we all get what we deserve. I no dey like comment on Nigeria matter.. e go just de change your mood.
Wetin Dey even annoy me the most be say Naija no dey even encourage positive solutions. Na that one dey off me You cap it all, that dream has really deteriorated the state of this country down. That dream has made any Nigerian that manage to make it even as business man or politician, the first thing is to relocate his family first then start stealing his own. Until we stop glorifying abroad or arrest any public officers that stay abroad the country problem wont solve. Facto! |

seriousbaby: Thanks @mrlee and @Alaprom. I appreciate your support. Yeah, I took a gamble quitting my job, but it was a calculated gamble at the time. They were going to downsize at my work place and I decided I could take one for the team. It is all good though, I got a decent severance package and I kept someone's neck off the chopping block. It is just that this got me really worried honestly, no comms, no reason as to why the delay, just hope. And hope is a currency that burns fast when there is no fuel to keep it alive. I guess another issue is I am not sure what to do. I don't put in 100% applying for new jobs because, well Chevron. I can't start working and 2 months in, leave for new place. It goes against what I stand for.
Anyways, thank you both for making me feel heard. I wish they could just be more transparent. I need that closure for real Which role did you applied for? Because the last update I had, I heard senior facility engineers and wells have done their medicals. I don’t know of any other department though…. So which is yours? |
