Traditional leaders in Ghana have banned school girls from crossing a river every Tuesdays and during their menstruating period in other not to provoke the gods in the community

According to reports, the ban was given by a local river god that menstruating girls should desist from crossing the River Ofin, in the Upper Denkyira East district, in the Central Region.

A father, Segun Durojaiye and his brother,Emmanuel Durojaiye, who allegedly raped his 16-year-old daughter for four years were on Monday charged with incest before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State.

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has said a Mi-17 attack helicopter belonging to it has crashed in the northeast during a counter-insurgency operation.
