Again, they are not paying for Wigwes death but rather they paid for their lack of discretion and to put it mildly, they don't have sense...Every LEADER, whether political, religious or even a class captain must have the ability to READ THE ROOM!!!
Let me break it down for the last time. Do you know that Wigwes father was also a pastor in redeemed? He was 90yrs! Some of the church leaders/decision makers today MIGHT have passed Tru him! They won't want the same to happen to them.
The Wigwes were also influential in redeemed..He was a bank MD and a big donor! The pastor should have known that this family is well rooted and they are no push-over..Pastor Adeboye with his wife came personally to pay condolence..So you can imagine the number of big shot from d church that will be there too. I am talking from a biz point of view now...
Also, inviting Flavour is not a sin but it shows the man does not have SENSE ..It is more distasteful seeing that dance with ELUMELU, a former bank MD/CEO who is a FIERCE competitor with the Wigwe...You know what came to my mind when I saw ELUMELU dancing with Siju on that day, I felt the dance means "a ti reyin ota" (we don end our enemy), it might not be so but they will have alot of explanation to prove otherwise..

A big lesson for all married men is to LEAD from the front! Love your wife, but take position. When these same politicians give contracts out for the personal mansions and luxury cars, they follow up diligently to ensure that the top notch delivery is availed them, even though they aren't builders or auto mechanics.

When they and their families visit hospitals they opt for the best and make regular follow ups. Same with When they choose destinations for their vacations, they select the best hotels and follow up to ensure they get the best thereof.

........and indeed, I can relate to most of these things, though I'm not a LFC member. I do attend the church service whenever they have programs, or when I was in Ghana for a couple of years. I remember attending Bishop's Oyedepo's outreach/crusade at a stadium in Accra in 2009, during his Africa tour like that.

Prior to that, in 2007/'08, I had gone to WCG at Industrial area once, I actually had been confused with the name on the Billboard. It was there I learnt of the separation from Nigerian Church right from the ministering pastor that day!! Being not a member, I hadn't known till then,
So I started digging around. That was the last time I would attend that church. I located the WCI, I believe around North Kaneshie or so, where I regularly worshiped. I believe it was then pastored by a Nigerian, which you might have stated earlier: Pastor Bamgboye.

Reading the above, It strikes very close resemblance to a man in the Holy Bible , which I know others will also agree to. The man who rebelled against Someone Greater than him, Greater Than ALL!. . . . Saul rebelled against God. ISam13:13 & ISam15:22-23.........It never ends well with The Rebellious. See Lucifer, Judas Iscariot, king Saul, etc (That's why you could't provide any answer to that Brother that asked you for any scriptural reference that justified your actions! )

That's slightly different as I followed that too at the time.

They had to use his name as registered owner of the church in Ghana because they needed the name of a Ghanaian national and they couldn't use Oyedepo's name as he is a foreigner.

Guyman worked tirelessly for them to be fair, he had also been with them in Nigeria for a while before going to Ghana to set it up there, saw the amount they were making (especially after Oyedepo went for a crusade) and decided he needed to have a larger piece of the pie.

Oyedepo wasn't ready to give him that larger piece and after a lot of back and forth including said withholding of funds, they asked him to come back to Nigeria and arranged a kwe kwe Parish got him to lead.

He consulted some of his lawyer friends in Ghana, resigned from Winners and "renationalised" the church.

Good analysis from everyone so far,but take these facts from someone that really knows that business and what happened.
What killed Mr Biggs? Time and change did.
Before Mr Biggs we had Eddie King Burger,Kass Chicken and Chicken George,all were famous but none was financially super successful because they were all family businesses.
In 1986 UAC opened Mr Biggs after a failed attempt to bring McDonald's into Nigeria. It was an experiment and they themselves were not expecting it to be so successful. It succeeded because it had the largest indigenous company behind it,and that company had properties scattered all over the country and in viable commercial locations,so the first hurdle was scaled.
Between 86 and early nineties,they had a near monopoly till boom,the Likes of Tastee Fried Chicken,Sweet Sensation and Tantalizers came on board. The sky was still big enough till the mid 2000s when the kitchen started becoming too hot.
Tantalizers seemed to have forcefully grabbed their crown eventhough they had a far lower outlet count nationwide, and Tastee had used excellence to separate themselves from the rest.
Sweet sensation were probably the most well managed as they handled expansion brilliantly without franchising.

The entrance of a million brands in the 2000s into the quick service restaurant space did not help Mr Biggs as each locality all over the country now had new restaurants.
Chicken Repubic,Crunches,Mega Chicken,The Place all came with the new wave of the mid to late 2000s with many of them stealing significant market share from the initial big guys.
Former staff of the big 3 became consultants for entrepreneurs who wanted to get into the fast food business and inevitably Mr Biggs lost its best hands to an industry growing at a rate faster than anyone could have predicted.
The decision to franchise did not help matters like someone rightly pointed out but that was not what killed Mr Biggs. Mr Biggs died because it was owned by an archaic company that was slow to respond to change.
The death that killed Mr Biggs quickly chased and met up with Tantalizers and of recent Sweet Sensation. The Chicken Republic that is shining today is not the old chicken Republic. The old one was riddled with debt and investor issues,naa tens of millions of dollars una dey see so,so Chicken Republic is not out of the woods.
In my opinion Chicken Repubic would be dead as well if not for the constant injection of investor funds in dollars.Their back up is why they were able to run promotions for so long that kept their competitors scratching their heads.
In summary if the economy does not improve significantly, the list of failed restaurants will become extremely long because that model is not sustainable in a low purchasing power environment.
