Eye strain from hours of screen time can result in eye irritation, dryness, fatigue or blurred vision, and such problems are increasingly common, according to a new report. The first step is admitting that you have a problem (a #firstworldproblem, if you’d like, but a problem nonetheless). From there, experts recommend some easy ways to protect your eyes during media binges: Reduce glare by cleaning your screen and making sure it’s the most brightly glowing thing in the room. • Sit an arm’s length away from your computer screen. The screen shouldn’t be tilted, and should be positioned right below eye level. • “Remind yourself to blink.” • Every 20 minutes, give yourself 20 seconds to check out what’s going on 20 feet away from you. • Consider buying a pair of glasses made specifically for computer use. At a wedding in 2011, an old man who was sitting suddenly became short of breath and fainted. It looked like he’d had aheart attack. Someone called anambulance. A person rolled up the oldman’s sleeves and began heavily slapping his elbow pit (cubital fossa). The personasked a family member to slap the otherelbow pit. After this was repeated dozensof times, the old man began to react. He was out of danger. Traditional Chinese medicine believes“coldness causes blood stasis and blocks thecirculation.” The formation and removal of thrombosis work like peanut oil:precipitation forms when the temperaturegets low, and dissolves back when thetemperature rises. The pericardium andheart energy channels at the elbow pit connect directly to the heart. When you slap these two channels hard, you prompt “thecirculation of qi (energy), and thus the circulation of blood.” This will make theperson to feel warm and sweat. The “yangrises” and removes the blood clogs, anddredges the blood vessels. Anyone can perform this simple technique, and there is no need for training. Slapping the elbow pits daily helps prevent heart problems and lowers blood pressure. It cuts down on the occurrence of heart attacks. Whether one is bruised on the elbow pitafter heavy slapping can be used to diagnose whether someone has heart problems. The accuracy of this diagnostic measure is higherthan using modern medical equipment. If there are dark purple bruises on the elbow pits after slapping, you should continue to slap them until the color turns red. Any heart problems will be alleviated or even eliminated. This is the treatment called “dissolving the stasis.” Continuing to slap on other energy channels in your body, or the places that hurt when you slap them, might help cure some ailments that otherwise can’t be cured. He broke into national limelight in early May 2013 when he was shown on the television across the country while being pa raded by police officers attached to Imo State Police Command who accused him of sleeping in the same house with the corpse of his mother for 10 years. The accused, Chimezie Osigwe, a retired school principal, immediately became a subject of discussion among Nigerians. While some described him as a cultist, others accused him of being a ritualist who had allegedly killed his mother, and later kept her corpse for ritual purpose. While the debate raged, the police later charged Osigwe to court for murder. He was arraigned before Justice Goddy Anunihu. However, at the end of his trial, which lasted over a year, Osigwe was finally discharged and acquitted on November 25, 2014 by the trial judge. In an encounter with Saturday Sun last week in Ibadan, Osigwe, who expressed joy that he has regained his freedom, however, pointed fingers at some of his kinsmen in his native Oguta community in Imo State as being the brains behind his ordeal. According to him, some of his own relations and elders in Ezuru Umuagwu in Oguta colluded with the police to frame him on murder charge. “How can I murder my own mother? How can I murder an 80-year-old woman that gave birth to me? Why? These people just framed me up, using police to achieve their diabolical plan,” he declared. Osigwe, who told our reporter that his mother died as a result of collapse of a section of the wall in his house, further added that immediately the incident hap pened, he informed some of his siblings, and elders in the community, adding that they all later commiserated with him. While saying that he was shocked by the sudden turn of events that led to his arrest, Osigwe attributed it to a dispute he had with a relation who later decided to report him to the police that he had been sleeping with a corpse for about 10 years. source: http://anitsdavid..co.ke/2015/08/man-explained-why-he-kept-his-mother.html?m=1

Massive explosions have hit China's northern city of Tianjin, leaving at least 17 people dead and hundreds more injured . State media said the blasts happened in a warehouse storing "dangerous and chemical goods" in the port area of the city. Pictures and video on social media showed flames lighting up the sky, and buildings are said to have collapsed. Hospitals are reported to be overwhelmed with casualties. President Xi Jinping has urged "all-out efforts" to rescue victims and contain the fire, Xinhua state news agency said. Workers' dormitories in the port area were also destroyed State broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) said a shipment of explosives had detonated but this was not confirmed. State media also said senior managers of Ruihai Logistics, which owned the warehouse where the explosion took place, were being questioned by authorities. The first explosion at about 23:30 (15:30 GMT) on Wednesday was followed by another, more powerful blast, seconds later. Shockwaves were felt several kilometres away. BBC Chinese Service editor Raymond Li says all indications are that it was an industrial accident. At the scene: John Sudworth, BBC News, Tianjin The apartment complex closest to the explosion has eight rows of high-rise tower blocks. In every one of them, almost every window has been blown out. On the ground outside are the signs of the many families who have fled from their beds in a hurry - a woman's shoe, children's toys, mangled bicycles. There would have been many injured here. Inside the homes, furniture has been picked up as if by a whirlwind and interior doors lie at angles, ripped off their hinges. It may be a long time before the cause of the explosion is known. Such is the scale of this disaster that for now, the authorities are simply struggling to achieve an accurate account of the numbers of dead and injured. The China Earthquake Networks Centre said the magnitude of the first explosion was the equivalent of detonating three tons of TNT, while the second was the equivalent of 21 tonnes of the explosive. Further blasts were subsequently triggered nearby, Xinhua said. CCTV said four firefighters were among the dead and that more than 400 people had been injured, at least 32 of them critically. BBC producer Xinyan Yu, who is in Tianjin, said workers' dormitories were among the buildings destroyed. Hours later, fires were still burning and 100 fire engines were at the scene, reported CCTV. One witness, named only as Ms Yang, told local media she was out shopping when "suddenly from behind there was a big fireball and explosion". The force of the blasts shook buildings and set parked vehicles alight "At the time of the explosion the ground was shaking fiercely, nearby cars and buildings were shaking, glass from a few buildings all broke and everyone started to run," she said. "Now all the residents are gathered in the street." Another witness, Canadian teacher Monica Andrews, told how she woke in panic after what she thought was an earthquake. "I... looked out the window and the sky was red. I just watched a second explosion go off and [it was] just pure chaos, everyone leaving their apartment buildings thinking it's an earthquake, cars trying to leave the complex. It was crazy," she told the BBC. China National Radio said cracks were visible in buildings near the site of the blast. Several tower blocks near the port area are without power, CCTV added. Tianjin, home to some 15 million people, is a major port and industrial area to the south-east of the Chinese capital, Beijing, See more photos at http://anitsdavid..com/2015/08/china-blasts-tianjin-port-city-rocked.html

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has signed a new four-year deal at the Stamford Bridge club. The new deal will keep the 52-year-old in his post until at least 2019. The Portuguese, who had previously been in charge from 2004-2007, rejoined in 2013 on a four-year deal, leading the Blues to the Premier League title and the Capital One Cup last season. "I said when I returned here that I have a special feeling for this club and nothing changed," he said. "I think this is a normal thing for me to sign a new contract. It is important we have this continuity and I hope we can enjoy more success in the future - for the fans, the players and the club. "It is the club closest to my heart and I am very happy to know I will be staying here for a long time." Mourinho has the best win rate (69%) of any manager to have taken charge of 15 or more Premier League games and will lead his side out in their season opener against Swansea on Saturday at 17:30 BST. Last season, Chelsea were the only club in all four divisions to remain unbeaten at home, winning the title with three matches to spare Source: http://bbc.com/sport/football/33830163

This is unbelievable and yet real. According to a publication of the Moscow Faculty of Sciences , researchers have developed a chemical process to « whiten » quickly a person. With a mixture that includes oxytane and benzodiazepine. It would suffice to stay for 6 hours in a bath consisting of 50grams per liter of water. Then the skin peels off naturally. This is in fact the upper skin layer responsible for the color that can be removed. The laboratory at the origin of the discovery has already announced 254 people have been treated by this method. The Russian government may soon allow the reimbursement of this treatment. According to Russian authorities, is an high value for thousands of immigrants who may feel more integrated in Russia once their color matches the one of the premises. A strong point of view decried by the associations of human rights. source: http://anitsdavid..in/2015/08/shokinga-russian-laboratory-has.html

Rap star Snoop Dogg has been stopped by
police in Italy while carrying $422,000
(£270,000) in cash, authorities say. The singer was travelling through an airport in Calabria, southern Italy, where he had been performing. Sums of more than €10,000 (£7,000; $11,000) must be declared by anyone travelling through airports in the European Union. Last week, the American was stopped on suspicion of possessing drugs by police in Uppsala, Sweden. He criticised what he said was "racial profiling" but Swedish police say they have yet to receive the results of tests to see whether Snoop Dogg had drugs in his system. 'No crime' After stopping him on Saturday as he prepared to board a private plane, Italian police seized half of the $422,000 under money laundering laws, the state news agency Ansa said . It is now likely to be returned, with a fine deducted, the Italian financial police say. Andrea Parisi, a lawyer representing the artist, told Reuters: "We clarified everything from a legal point of view. The money came from concerts he had performed around Europe. There was no crime; it was just an administrative infraction." Snoop Dogg - whose real name is Calvin Broadus - is scheduled to play the Kendal Calling festival in northern England on Sunday. He has not responded to his latest detention and his current whereabouts are unconfirmed. |
Beijing has been chosen to host the 2022
Winter Olympics and Paralympics, beating the
bid of Kazakhstan's Almaty. Having hosted the 2008 Olympics, the Chinese capital will be the first city to host both a summer and winter Games. Beijing and Almaty were considered outsiders when the 2022 bid race opened two years ago. But after a host of European cities withdrew for political or financial reasons, the Chinese bid beat Almaty by 44 votes to 40 with one abstention. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said that Beijing was awarded the Games because it fitted its new agenda for a "stronger focus on sustainability, legacy, and transparency". Despite the IOC estimating costs for "Olympic villages, sports venues and other infrastructure" would be £962m ($1.5bn), it said Beijing "will rely heavily on existing venues, including those built for the Games in 2008". The statement continued: "Thanks to an additional contribution from the IOC of approximately £564m ($880m) to support the staging of the Olympic Winter Games in 2022, Beijing is confident that it will either break even or make a profit." The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, were estimated to have cost £31bn ($51bn), making it the most expensive Olympics in history. Previous Winter Olympics hosts: 2018: Pyeongchang, South Korea2014: Sochi, Russia2010: Vancouver, Canada2006: Turin, Italy2002: Salt Lake City, USA The Games, which was supported by former NBA star Yao Ming, will be divided between the capital and the city of Zhangjiakou - which is 118 miles north-west of Beijing and will host the snow events. Despite concerns about a lack of natural snow in the mountains, and protests from human rights groups, Beijing had been the clear favourite to win the vote after it successfully hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics. The IOC said in a statement: "Beijing aims to use the Games to accelerate the development of a new sport, culture and tourism area, and to encourage interest in winter sports in a region that is home to more than 300 million people in northern China." But Human Rights Watch said the decision was "a slap in the face to China's besieged human rights activists". Sophie Richardson, China director of the pressure group, added: "The Olympic motto of 'higher, faster, and stronger' is a perfect description of the Chinese government's assault on civil society: more peaceful activists detained in record time, subject to far harsher treatment." Olympic skeleton champion Lizzie Yarnold told BBC Radio 5 live: "Before 2008 there was a lot of discussion around human rights and awareness around it. I hope that the International Olympic Committee have taken that into consideration and are going to make actual changes this time, rather than just discuss it. "The venues need to be technically excellent. They need to be Olympic standard for you to bring good performances as athletes. I really hope the IOC will make sure that things are ready for the World Cup races that will have to take place there before the Olympics." |
HIV can be flushed out of its hiding places in the body using a cancer drug, researchers show. The cornerstone of treatment, anti-retroviral therapy, kills the virus in the bloodstream but leaves "HIV reservoirs" untouched. The study, published in PLoS Pathogens, showed the drug was "highly potent" at reactivating hidden HIV. Experts said the findings were interesting, but it was important to know if the drug was safe in patients. The power of the HIV reservoir was shown with the case of the Mississippi baby . She was given antiretroviral drugs at birth. Despite appearing to be free of HIV for nearly two years after stopping treatment, she was found to be harbouring the virus. 'Kick and kill' A strategy known as "kick and kill" is thought to be key to curing HIV - the kick would wake up the dormant HIV allowing the drugs to kill it. The team at the UC Davis School of Medicine investigated PEP005 - one of the ingredients in a treatment to prevent cancer in sun-damaged skin. They tested the drug in cells grown in the laboratory and in parts of the immune system taken from 13 people with HIV. The report said "PEP005 is highly potent in reactivating latent HIV" and that the chemical represents "a new group of lead compounds for combating HIV". One of the researchers, Dr Satya Dandekar, said: "We are excited to have identified an outstanding candidate for HIV reactivation and eradication that is already approved and is being used in patients. "This molecule has great potential to advance into translational and clinical studies." However, the drug has still not been tested in people who are HIV-positive. Prof Sharon Lewin, from the University of Melbourne, said the results were "interesting" and marked an "important advance in finding new compounds that can activate latent HIV". She said: "This study adds another family of drugs to test to potentially eliminate long-lived forms of HIV although much more work needs to be done to see if this works in patients. "Although PEP005 is part of an FDA approved drug, it will first take some time to work out if it is safe to use in the setting of HIV." |
Scientists have found that Laughing could dramatically improve your health - and be as good for you as a deep state of meditation. Laughing could dramatically improve your health - and be as good for you as a deep state of meditation. Laughter can help minimize the damage stress hormones cause. Researchers at the Loma Linda University wanted to find out if laughter altered its effects. It can contribute to a number of health problems, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. Dr. Lee Berk, who also worked on the study said: 'It’s simple, the less stress you have the better your memory. Humor reduces detrimental stress hormones like cortisol that decrease memory hippocampal neurons, lowers your blood pressure, and increases blood flow and your mood state. The act of laughter, or simply enjoying some humor, increases the release of endorphins and dopamine in the brain, which provides a sense of pleasure and reward. These positive and beneficial neurochemical changes, in turn, make the immune system function better.' There are even changes in brain wave activity towards what's called the 'gamma wave band frequency', which also amp up memory and recall. Gurinder Singh, who led the study, showed a 20-minute laugh-inducing funny video to a group of healthy elderly individuals and a group of elderly people with diabetes. The groups were then asked to complete a memory assessment that measured their learning, recall, and sight recognition. Their performance was compared to a control group of elderly people who also completed the memory assessment, but were not shown a funny video. Cortisol concentrations in both groups were also recorded at the beginning and the end of the experiment. The research team found a significant decrease in cortisol concentrations among both groups who watched the video. Video- watchers also showed greater improvement in all areas of the memory assessment when compared to controls, with the diabetic group seeing the most dramatic benefit in cortisol level changes and the healthy elderly seeing the most significant changes in memory test scores. 'Our research findings offer potential clinical and rehabilitative benefits that can be applied to wellness programs for the elderly,' Dr. Bains said. 'The cognitive components, learning ability and delayed recall, become more challenging as we age and are essential for older adults for an improved quality of life: mind, body, and spirit. Although older adults have age- related memory deficits, complimentary, enjoyable, and beneficial humor therapies need to be implemented for these individuals.'

The wedding of 4-year-old bride Abby is one of the most memorable events at Albany Medical Center (AMC) in Albany City, New York. The "bride", 4-year-old Abby, suffers from pre-B cell acute lymphobastic leukemia and undergoes chemotherapy at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at AMC. She told her mother that she wanted to get married to "prince" Matt Hickling, Abby's favorite nurse. Instantly, Abby's mom, Matt, and AMC staffs decided to make her dream come true. And no detail was spared during the touching ceremony, which was(© anitsdavid..com) planned in 12 hours celebrated on July 16. It was the sweetest wedding that AMC staffs never ever seen. They prepared a wedding-cake, several floral bouquets and put down an aisle of rose petals on the hospital floor. The bride wore a white dress, walked in over rose petals, and given away by her mother while the groom, who sported a tuxedo T- shirt, was waiting her. Two nurses became bridesmaids and Dr. Jennifer Pearce was an officiant. The pair exchanged candy rings, and Hickling pushed Abby in a special "Just married" pink car before the duo headed back to the ceremony room to cut the cake and take photos. Lori Ciafardoni, another nurse at the center posted the video of the ceremony to Facebook and it went viral. The video circulated quickly and received many wishes. Nicki Waterman and Amanda Ursell, a
British fitness trainers with vast experience,
made an incredible plan with which in just 5
days you’ll get a flat stomach. The base of
this plan-routine are a some tips, and if you
follow them, the results will definitely come.
If you feel bloated and heavy, and you’re
worrying how you’ll look in your favorite
clothes especially bought for some special
event, than it’s the right time to start
devoting your time on creating a healthier
lifestyle and food habits. • Positioning of the body and chewing: The most important factor is to sit when you eat and to chew slowly with your mouth. The more you chew with a mouthful, the lesser you’ll eat. • Avoid consumption of sweetened juices and drinks! The sweetened mineral water, the soft drinks and the sweetened fruit juices contain lot of calories and are causing flatulence in the stomach. So it is best to drink only water when feel thirsty. • Stop the usage of artificial sweeteners! The artificial sweeteners which contain lactitol, mannitol and sorbitol are digested in our intestines in the abdomen where the bacteria feed on them. And the intestines and the abdomen produce additional emissions which will hamper the digestion. It’s best to use the brown sugar in smaller quantities. • Be aware of resistant starch: We all know the rule then starch is easily digested, but that’s not the case with the resistant starch. The resistant starch isn’t absorbed in the intestines, and undigested goes to the colon. That’s why this starch often causes flatulence in the intestines. The resistant starch is found in bananas, beans, mushrooms, potatoes and rice. • Don’t consume vegetables which cause flatulence: Onions, cabbage and beans are part of the vegetables which cause flatulence in the abdomen. In the times when you want to look amazing and perfect, you should avoid them. • Consume probiotics: Yogurt contains good bacteria, which helps the digestive system in reducing the amount of air in the intestines, and the experts proved the fact that probiotics reduce flatulence in the abdomen. • Reduce the salt: The experts advise that if we limit the amount of intake of salt in our bodies to only 3 grams a day we will significantly reduce the flatulence in our abdomen. Salt causes flatulence because it binds with water. cc lalasticlala

Manchester United have signed Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero as a result of the uncertainty over David De Gea. Romero was a free agent after leaving Sampdoria and will replace back-up keeper Victor Valdes, who has been told he can leave by boss Louis Van Gaal. Romero, who has penned a three-year deal, played in the 2014 World Cup final and won the 2008-09 Eredivisie title under Van Gaal at AZ Alkmaar. De Gea is into the final year of his contract and is wanted by Real Madrid. "We have to prepare our season with the threat that David De Gea is going to Real Madrid," said Van Gaal. If De Gea stays, Van Gaal said Romero, 28, could compete for a first-team place. "You need always competition," added Van Gaal. "When I see that a player is better than the player in the line-up, he shall play the next match." Romero, who knocked Van Gaal's Netherlands out of the World Cup by saving two penalties in a semi-final shootout, has 62 caps. He becomes United's fifth signing of the summer, following deals for full-back Matteo Darmian, midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin and forward Memphis Depay . Valdes was left out of the tour to the United States and will be sold after Van Gaal claimed he "refused to play" in the reserves. What can United fans expect from Romero? "He is a very dominating goalkeeper, he dominates the 60-metre area," Van Gaal said. "His stature is also tall and he gives a lot of confidence to the players. "Of course, he has to learn English because that is also a problem always with a foreigner. He is very good with his feet, so he fits in our profile. I have a lot of confidence that he can fulfil what we are expecting."

At least 13 people have been killed and more
than 40 others injured in a huge bomb
explosion at a hotel in the Somali capital
Mogadishu. According to BBC Correspondance in the city says a lorry was used to attack the Jazeera Palace Hotel near the airport. He said it was one of the worst scenes of destruction he has witnessed in Mogadishu. Somali militant Islamist group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack. The al-Qaeda linked group said it was responding to assaults by an African Union force and the Somali government. The blasts came as US President Barack Obama was leaving Kenya for Ethiopia, at the end of a trip during which he had discussions about dealing with the threat from al-Shabab. The US condemned the "abhorrent" attack which "purposefully and cruelly targeted innocent civilians," a National Security Council statement said. International diplomats often stay at Jazeera Palace Hotel, which has been targeted in the past. It also accommodates several embassies including those of China, Qatar and Egypt. A Chinese embassy worker was among the dead as well as three members of the hotel staff, the BBC's Mohamed Moalimu reports. Al-Shabab is battling Somalia's government for control of the country. While security in Somalia has improved, the group still attacks Mogadishu regularly. On Saturday, a member of the Somali parliament and an official from the prime minister's office were killed in separate attacks in the capital claimed by al-Shabab. In recent days the group has lost two of its remaining strongholds - the south-western town of Bardere and the south-eastern town of Dinsor . Both had been under al-Shabab control since 2008. The militants have also targeted neighbouring countries, killing almost 150 people in an assault on Garissa University College in Kenya in April.

So many times, many people walk in to mobile phone retail shops to grab a new Android phone but unlike iPhones that run on Apple’s proprietary iOS software, Android phones run on Google’s open Android operating system, making it easier and cheaper for cloning manufacturers to produce fakes – and harder for consumers to distinguish between a genuine model and a fake one thereby making many people end up buying the cloned ones. It is just a waste of the money. Not only does the phone not last long but also very poor in; *camera quality *speed *battery life *storage ( very low in storage but displays a very high value when checked on the phone) SO THE BIG QUESTION IS; HOW WILL YOU KNOW IF THE SMARTPHONE YOU ARE BUYING IS ORIGINAL? Let’s start with the Samsung galaxy: The galaxy range of phones are the most common hence are the ones with the highest number of clones in the market. Manufacturers of such fake products take extra caution so as to make the phone resemble the the original as much as possible. HOW TO CHECK IF IT’S FAKE There are numerous ways to check if the galaxy phone is fake. 1. The use of Samsung’s internally embedded codes. Just enter the phone’s dialer and dial any of the codes below; *#06# [Displays device IMEI number] *#1234# [Displays device current firmware] *#*#1472365#*#* [GPS test settings] *#*#197328640#*#* [Service mode main menu] *#*#4636#*#* [Diagnostic and general settings mode] *#0*# [General Test Mode] When these codes don’t work for you, then the phone is fake. 2. Checking the physical features of the phone From the above picture, we can see so many differences. The first most observable difference is that, while the real phone has a very brightly coloured interface, the fake has a very dim and blurry coloured interface. It can also be observed that the the gap between screen and the side of the real phone is much smaller than that of the fake. Also when the hand is rubbed on the Samsung logo, the fake’s can be felt and also be pulled out but that of the original’s cannot be. The home button is also one of the key features that can be used to check the authenticity of the phone. Whiles that of the fake’s is hard to press, the original’s is very soft and you can almost feel the smoothness in the press. You can also check the picture above for observable features. 3. Booting the phone into ODIN mode: This is by far the best way to check if your phone is original. All you to do is; *Press and hold the volume down button *Press and hold the home button *Now press and hold the power button too all simultaneously Now you just wait for the phone to boot into the ODIN mode as in the image above. If it does, then your phone is original (Now just press the volume down button the for the phone to restart.) but if the phone keeps giving vibrational feedback for more than 30 seconds but the phone doesn’t boot into the ODIN mode, then the phone is a fake. HTC, XPERIA AND LG For these phones, it’s quite easier to differentiate between their fake and original. This is because, even with the touch of the phone, one can feel if it’s the fake or original. Also, the UI (User Interface) speaks for itself. But sometimes, it can be difficult finding out. Therefore, I will like to introduce you to what is known as ‘adb’ mode of booting into ODIN mode since these devices don’t really allow for key combinations. HOW TO BOOT INTO THE ODIN MODE USING ‘ADB’ Requirements : *Working rooted or unrooted Android device *USB cable and PC *Installed your device USB driver( Google it) *Android debugging bridge “adb”(Google it) Steps : *Enable USB debugging on your android device. *Install adb and USB driver for your device model Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Motorola, Google. *Connect your device to PC by USB cable To boot into recovery mode for all Android devices type in cmd window : adb reboot recovery I Think With This Tutor You Can Detect A Fake Android Mobile |
