Punch Nigeria Limited Chairman, Gbadebowale Wayne Aboderin is dead.

He died after a heart surgery at the age of 60.

Up until his death, he was the Chairman, Punch Commercial Printing Limited and Lukahed Properties Limited.

A one-time Vice-President of the Nigerian Basketball Supporters Club and U.S trained Pilot died on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 6:05AM at First Cardiology Consultants, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Police has taken over Enugu Government House as members of BIAFRA Zionists Federation (BZF), led by Benjamin Onwuka attempted to declare an independent BIAFRA and forcefully take over Government House.

More than fifty BZF members had converged at the house with BIAFRA adornments but were stopped at the gate by Policemen.

The Nigerian Police Force, Ebonyi command, urged Abakaliki residents to ignore the sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of BIAFRA (IPOB). It says the order as unlawful.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Lovett Odah, told Newsmen that adequate security preparations had been put in place to secure lives and property.

Fighting has escalated in the Libyan city of Derna, with air raids, shelling of residential areas and heavy ground clashes, the United Nations humanitarian office said on Thursday.

There were severe water, food and medicine shortages, and electricity and water were completely cut off for the city's 125,000 residents, it said in a report that described the violence as "unprecedented" there.

The eastern city has been encircled since July 2017 by the Libyan National Army (LNA), whose commander Khalifa Haftar opposes the internationally recognized government based in the country's west.

Located on the coast around 270 km (165 miles) from the border with Egypt, it is the only major town in eastern Libya outside LNA control.

"The LNA has announced that it now has control over the city’s eastern and western entrances ... and surrounding areas where clashes have been taking place," the U.N. report said.
